Hi all,
I want to try to revive a little my pretty old phone, so I' m looking for advices for the best rom to choose.
My main goals are:
1)Security
Are custom rom more up to date than the stock 5.1? Are they safe for enough to run banks apps?
2)Stability
3)Stability
4)Stability
5)Speed
Well, at least enough to be faster than the stock one.
I' m not interested in games or peculiar apps, my phone use is pretty standard ( calls, messaging, browsing, mail, maps and running apps ).
Is the @lost101 Peregrine 6.0 stock a good candidate?
Could be an option just to flash an optimized kernel and keep the stock rom?
Thank you
I know a Moto G LTE running LineageOS 14.1. It's pretty good. But I don't get banking apps working unfortunately.

I don't know if its only me,but i think all ROMs(CM11,Paranoid Android etc.) look pretty similar except for one or two extra features. Each of them has the same browser app,DSP manager,File Manager and mostly similar features.Even the OS look and feel is the same as stock android(I use Moto G XT1033).
So what is the point of flashing custom ROMs if they look similar to stock.android
We can just use Xposed to have those extra features right?
I really don't know
+1 im with you. But im using custom rom on 1033
Only miui is different and unique rom waiting for some one to port it
ROMs can sometimes have better battery life and sometimes can provide features that xposed don't have. you can also install a different launcher and put in a different theme as well. uninstall the apk's you don't want when you flash the ROM and install your preferred one
previous phones :
LG OPTIMUS L3 400
HUAWEI HONOUR U8860
MOTOROLA MOTO G XT1032 (current)
Coming from a guy who wouldn't leave stock + xposed and it's modules for nothing, recently switching to custom roms: it IS totally worth it. I don't miss any of the features xposed has and even got extra ones such as Hover. The job done by the devs are great, give it a go on the roms and find one which you enjoy the most.
Also they're kept updated on lightning speed fast.
having freezing and data loss problems with saber rom and that rom isn't being worked on anymore, so i thought i might as well make the jump to 6.0
which rom is the most stable? (all hardware components working etc)
which rom will be most active? (aka best support-wise, I dont want to start using a rom then for the dev to suddenly pull the plug)
seems like official CM would be the best choice? but from what i've been reading, it's not the most stable.
wondering on other's thoughts who are using whatever 6.0 rom, and why
Official CM is rock stable for me, no problems.
Hi guys, I use Android 5.0.1 stock version on my phone, but it uses too much space.
I want to flash a new custom rom, which is lighter, and better than this. I used CyanogenMod but it only has nightly version, and it was not really stable(it still has camera, snapchat, on call problems).
So I am asking if you can suggest me a stable, lightweight and nicely designed(like touchwiz or cm) ROM.
thank you for your time.

You're not the first person to make this mistake, but this is the wrong forum. This forum is for the Galaxy S 4G, a first generation Galaxy S device that was released in 2010. The forum you're looking for is located at http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/.
There,, you'll find many, many different opinions on what ROM/kernel combination is best, search and read through the threads. Also, since its a Exynos-based device, Custom ROMs are very difficult to make and most will have at least some bugs.
Hi there members of XDA,
I have autism and get very angry at technology when it freezes up for minutes and just wont respond.
Moto G3 really pushes me past the limit. Freeze after freeze, then overheating.
I have the 1GB RAM version of this device and 32GB SD Card
I have unlocked the bootloader and tried installing custom roms like AOSP 7.0 , and CM 13 and CM12, and they all seem to make my device overheat and apps like snapchat and messenger keep force closing and driving me mental. im honestly so close to chucking this phone at a wall.
Can someone recommend to me a good daily driver rom that doesnt freeze like this and get incredibly slow over time . Stock rom performance is also horrific on this device, and no i am not being oversensetive before you assume that, the freezing and overheating and bad battery life is honestly horrible
Cheers Guys,

any cm based rom suggestion? RR is good but it except RR which cm based rom can be used as daily driver?
Hi.
I just picked up this phone as a backup after reading that ROM development is quite active.
I am wondering what is a good stable ROM to flash?
Thanks.
Hey, just wondering if you ened up finding something stable? I have the 8GB storage 1GB Ram version of the moto g3, and i'm looking for a stable rom, to use it as a game phone / music / camera for my kids. I tried crDroidAndroid-10.0-20201217-osprey-v6.13 but it's super slow.
Any suggestions would be great
Use the lineage official 17.1 version, its works without any problem. Maybe there's a major consume a battery then the stock image, but the stock is android 6, this is 10.
