ac3 support broken starting from ver 1.10.24 - MX Player

I have mx player pro with custom codec...
The ac3 support is broken in version 1.10.24 on two of my devices : Galaxy Tab S3 and Qintaix Q39 (RK3399 TV Box)...
No problem on my Galaxy S6 smartphone.
The issue is reproducible by uninstalling and reinstalling... All is OK when I revert back to ver. 1.10.23.
Kindly
Abdel.

I get a toast message "Le format audio (ac3) n'est pas pris en charge." in french which means "Audi format (ac3) is not supported".

Does anybody else faces the same issue?

Can you please specify the version number? Kindly try to clear the app data and open the app again with working internet connection. Once the configs are updated from our servers, AC3 should work as expected.

Tested MX Player Pro version 1.10.25... (screen-shot attached)
I tried clearing cache and app data, uninstalling and reinstalling : same issue : ac3 is not supported in HW+ but is supported in HW.
When I revert back to version 1.10.23, all is OK.
Device : Galaxy Tab S, android 8

We couldn't reproduce the issue on our side. It seems that AC3 support is not available on your custom codec. In 1.10.23, native AC3 support is controlled by the server. So, It may get the AC3 support from the MX Player's own library as we have enabled it for everyone. Can you please confirm that whether your custom codec has ac3 support or not, or try a different one?

Thanks Friend,
It is really odd : I have apparently an old version of the custom codec with the same version number :
This is the old one : View attachment neon-1.9.18.2.zip...
... and this is the new one that works flawlessly : View attachment mx_neon.zip
The two versions show number 1.9.18.2 on the about dialog of MX Player...
I guess a small "error" in the delivery process of the custom codec.
Many thanks Guys.
Abdel.

Any rom with HW accelerated flash?

I had a Defy before and on CM7 the defy had hw acceleration for flash enabled so the videos were smooth up to 480p i missthat feaure on the nexus s. Because the galaxy s can paly 720p flash videos, the nexus s should be able to do the same. I tried a couple rom but it did not work.(AFAIK you just have to add the 720p codec to the codeclist in OMX or thet is what they did with the defy)
If you know a rom with that feature please tell me
in this case, it depends on player
some player uses GPU to decoding , some only uses CPU to decoding .
try "dice player" i use that to play 720p movie
---------- Post added at 04:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:53 PM ----------
also , but i think this has already been done by ROM builder , such as CM7 and MIUI, if so , then you just need to find some player with hardware decoding
use app such as Root Explorer , go system/lib/egl , edit file "egl.cfg"
delete all text, and put
0 1 POWERVR_SGX540_120

this should be the second line , you can just delete the first line

I think you might be misreading his post though, he's asking if any ROM for the Nexus S have HW accelaration for flash video. Thus the flash applet in browser/app, not a video player.
Sadly I still can't answer you vick. :/

Thank you for you answer. I have not found a solution and i am short on time recently to try to modify the code myself. During the weekend i will have an attempt.
720p vids downloaded with tubemate plays with stock payer fine(i use dice palyer for mkv and avi) that is why i think it would only require to modify what decoder the phone should load when opening flash videos.
Hardware accelerated flash is coming in Flash player 11. It will be released in the coming weeks.

[APP] looking for screen recorder application

Hello i have galaxy s4 gt-i9500 and im looking for a screen recorder application.. just give me the name please
ive been trying some application like SCR Pro, SVR Pro, screencast video recorder but non of them have worked.
I have no idea what the source of the problem is.. maybe the apps itself, the phone itself, wrong settings, or system problem.
i am using crash rom v6.5 with persus kernel latest version.
please help.. what is the best screen recorder application?
Screen Recorder
Sorry if the question bothers you :
Phone is root ?
SCR Screen Recorder Pro needs root to work.
Or : you read, you check if the application is compatible with your rom ?
This is an early BETA preview version so it may not work on all devices and ROMs. Before you buy consider testing a free version to ensure that your device is already supported. If you encounter any issues please report it at [email protected] to help me get your device supported.

yes phone is rooted. application gained root permission as well.
I didnt clearly mention that, because I though after writing "i am using crash rom v6.5 with persus kernel latest version", it should have been clear wouldnt it?
I would like to know a decent application too. I have used Screencast for so long and it worked so beautifully that I never bothered to look for an alternative, but God knows what happened and Screencast doesn't work on I9500! Tried SCR, but okay, but as I demo a lot of tutorial videos which contains installing of some apps and other stuffs, SCR doesn't work, while SCR is on you can't install anything, that option is disabled for some reason.
I would really appreciate if one has found a decently working application, like Screencast or close to it.
No One Found he App Yet ?????

@unsupported Would you try latest test build from https://sites.google.com/site/mxvpen/translation/test-build ?
CPU features detection is removed for Android-x86 ROM but I'm not sure if it will actually run since x86 codec is optimized for Intel Atom processor.

P.S. Can i configure MX Player to use some custom codec instead of those shipped with it?

MX Player uses many android internal modules to improve performance. MXPlayer Player will show this message if the modules not compatible.
They could have changed anything which has broken the compatibility. Without proper logs it can't be identified. Kindly use mx log collector & post the logs

( Feature Request ) Moving Videos

Hello Guys !!!!
I am an avid media consumer and like all of you I too love to watch videos on MX Player. This is a fabulous app but please add a feature so that we can move videos from one folder to another folder without leaving the app. For instance - If I've to move my YouTube video from " Downloads " folder to " YouTube " folder, I've to go to file manager and do that manually. It would be great if we can move videos within the app.
Thanks in advance and hoping to see this feature in MX Player soon.
Kudos to bleu8888 for developing MX Player !

Brother I tried installed Mixplorer and then added vlc plugin but when I open my video in Miplayer it doesn't play. The Player crashes and automatically closes. Tried installing and reinstalling. It still crashes.
By any means can we add that feature in MX Player by tweaking the app ?

Kindly do not post any patched version here.
There are lot of users who doesn't aware about the side effects.
Even though you have patched only codec, It will still prevent users from upgrading to new versions.

Sorry. It was a misunderstanding. I thought that it's patched version as you have mentioned t as patched.
Now, I have checked the package & It's basically a flashable zip with custom codec library instead of MX Official ffmpeg library.
Anyway it's quite old version & updating it will loose the ac3/dts support.

Since failed attatch ac3/dts codes with latest mx player force close error
i think hw+ codes in latest devices support ac3/dts codes
all libs in latest mx is 0 kb

Yes, it appears that you are using an older version of a custom codec by renaming it. Please use a custom codec built from the latest sources, and you shouldn't have this issue.

To anyone who is facing the same problem. What I did is update the MX player pro. Though the update was not available on the playstore but I updated it from the official website. This problem is due to custom codec for me and for most of us. Just update somehow and use latest codec as mentioned above already by MXPlayer.
