I have my Fire setup with 5.4.0.1 i believe with updated blocked at my router. My son broke his phone and wanted to play Pokemon go so i installed it and without thinking I went for a walk and connected it to my phones wifi. I got home and noticed that when I rebooted it says optimizing apps so I turned it off. Is there a way to stop the update? Also, is there a way to install TWRP now or will it ever be possible? The only reason I have kept the version low is because of TWRP and root.

I just bought this TF700 today. I updated all the firmware and everything. It does not stream netflix. Loads netflix. Will not stream a video. I get error 12001 every time. Is this a known thing with this device or is it the Android version or what? This is one of the primary reasons I picked up this tablet. I'm contemplated returning it tomorrow and would like to know if there is some kind of work around. I just can't find any good info on it.
Thanks,
Wes

Just thought I would update on this. Some miraculous thing occurred and it just works now. I uninstalled and rebooted for about the 40th time and Netflix is working now. I have no idea what the issue was but it was something...
If anyone else has this problem, this is what I did this last time.
I went into the settings > apps and force stopped netflix then uninstalled all updates. I then rebooted. Then I went into settings > apps (make sure it's on ALL) and found the netflix thing that comes on the device. I force stopped it and then rebooted again. At this point I downloaded the Netflix updates, rebooted one more time and ran netflix. Now it works. Hallelujah!
I had a problem with netflix when I factory reset the tablet and when I tried to sign in it kept saying I enter wrong username or password..... Did it 10 times and nothing, tried to log on to my netflix on the computer and it worked fine... Only thing I can think of is I forgot to update netflix when I factory reset.. maybe that was the problem...
Try setting your DNS server in your router to Google DNS https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/
I tried to get rid of AllShareCast by uninstalling various Samsung / AllShare applications with Root Uninstaller, but the Dongle update keeps coming back every few hours. Which application is requesting the update, so that I can finally kill this problem?
It's the package called FWUpgrade 1.2.0 requiring this update. still, I do not know if it is safe to remove it. I did a force stop, no disable is possible, nothing happened....č
A video that looked like it was from CES last year was showing the GS3 with the Dongle, that they said came with the phone, it lets you broadcast video etc to a TV using wifi. My phone didn't come with the dongle so why do I need this app taking up space?
It doesn't show up in the list of app until you do the update, I ended up with it when I got the phone and get connected there was a bunch of updates available and I just hit install all of them. Then when I went to disable it the button saif uninstall updated so I did and it disappeared but then it shows in the Play Store all the time so you either have to update/install it or do the other one by one, what a pain.
Guess I will put up with this til I root the phone then I will get rid of it, I hope
Today i faced a problem where i went to the play store and went to my apps and all of the apps were up to date. I rebooted my phone and ''Youtube'' was being updated.
Why did it update after reboot instead of when i went to ''My apps'' in the playstore and everything was up-to-date ?
its normal.
it might of not been available for your phone the first time you checked. when apps are updated, not everyone gets the update right away. your neighbor might see an update for that app while you get the update hours later.
it's normal. That's happened to me pre-nexus 5..might be an availability thing or just need to refresh the connection to tip off the fact that you need the update.
I usually restart my phone at least two times a day just to keep the system running smoothly and make sure apps close out so it's no biggie to me
So I updated to 4.4.2 about a month ago with a guide from here. Had minor issues with Google Play not working properly, keeps telling me "can't play stream", or "can't play selected track" halfway through playing. When it works fine on my Asus table and my Surface pro just fine. Aside from that, all of a sudden I can't get into recovery. It's like it doesn't exist anymore. I noticed this yesterday when I tried to root my phone with ioroot. I can use ADB to reboot the phone into recovery, but it flashes for 2 seconds like it's loading something. But doesn't go any further. It's quite annoying and perturbing. I'm wondering if it's worth to just reflash back to 4.2 or 4.3? Or if you guys have any other insight or helpful tips?
Anything is much appreciated.
Phone IS rooted, running substratum as well. And I'm running the 3.2 version of Adaway. No idea why it's not working, I had it working a few weeks ago but it suddenly stopped. Thinking it may be something else wrong with the device I've wiped everything and used a new install of Lineage, still with no dice. Apps and ADB are enabled for root...
I have no idea why it suddenly stopped, but when I'm applying the Ad filters the process always gets to "2/3" and says "Applying Successful" although I still get the ads. I'm not sure if it's supposed to get to 3/3 or what the hell is going on but it's just not working.
bump...
