Hello,
My device is rooted, with custom boot animation, and the battery charging animation doesn't shows up when the device is turned off.
it's just stuck on the "the bootloader is unlocked" screen
I've already tried to flash the original boot animation, but it didn't succeed...
Hope someone knows how to fix it.
Thanks.
It's a known magisk bug with the latest oxygen release (9.0.2).
The phone charges anyway but you don't see the charging animation.
We have 3 options:
- waiting and hoping for next magisk/oxygen update to fix It
- charging phone while It Is on
- unroot

YEs, go to MAgisk Cannary channel (Google it), if you uninstall magisk, charge animation appears...
Thank you Glsoto.
Are the developers of Magisk and Oxygen OS been made aware of this issue?

hi i have a samsung captivate i897. i bought it sim free from the states (u'm in uk) rooted running cyanogen mod & miui. i've had it 8months and its been perfect.
i'm no tech guru so i've never done anything else to the phone since i got it.
recently i hada problem with it forcing close on nearly application (see thread here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1936862) but i did a little clean up and uninstalled some apps to free up space and that seemed to help for 13 days.
today i powered it on and browser forced close so i switched if off but when i switched it on again it's now stuck in (i think its called) boot loop - i get the "samsung galaxy s" animation and cyanogen mod then i usually have one that says "xiaomi" and a little music sound play. its this one that keeps looping. so instead of getting the xiaomi animation & music once then it going to the lock/enter pin screen, it just continues to repeat.
i have no idea what to do.
i tried to long press power key but nothing happens.
really hope someone can help. i appreciate any help given but please bear in mind i'm a TOTAL NOOB at this kind of stuff so try to explain things as much as possible for me.
thanks.

Yes, you are stuck in a bootloop. Just boot into recovery and do a clean install.
Download TWRP recovery for your handset. then install using still recovery mode.
TWRP installing using current recovery mode
Installation methord:-
-use Your current recovery.
-update zip file(TWRP Recovery) from sdcard.
-ok
-Reboot your mobile.
-Then install your custom rom using latest recover mode (TWRP Recovery).

A custom recovery is quite likely already installed. Just do the key combination at boot (for your device) to boot into recovery mode. You'd only need that if you want to change the current recovery.

+1. I have a HTC One X that was stuck in bootloop a couple of days ago. I think I flashed some wrong files which caused this issue. I then followed the steps in the Android Revolution HD ROM thread and voila! - had a clean install running smoother than ever! I didn't mind losing all of my data (since everything was already backed up on my PC).
Just do a clean install and your phone will work perfectly fine.
I'd suggest you to start your phone in recovery mode and re-install the software (if you cannot backup your files).

Hi,
already searched and found that I am not alone, but a solution I did not find so far.
I Flashed the Oreo Lineage 15.1 via TWRP.
Before flashing, I did not change anything else, the bootloader is factory-versioni, which probably is from Nougat OS.. So this might be the cause..
Anyway, when plugging the charger when phone is off, I got the battery-symbol with a "flash" sign. If I disconnect, it remains as-is. Have to force reboot by holding the buttons 8 seconds.
Charges normally if kernel is running..
Any idea?
Please help.
Thanks
Joe

My old s4 did this on occasion. I think the fix was to let it charge fully, reboot with usb attached, then pull cord. Next charge power off before connecting usb and should charge normally. One other time I think I had to fix via external SD format then full wipe and reflash rom but that was for force closes I think. Sorry was so long ago now hard to remember!

AOSP ROMs for S7 are bugged and not ready for daily usage in my opinion. Better try stock based ROM like Helios (excellent battery life) or SuperMan (tons of useful tweaks and mods - ROM I personally use and recommend)
If you still want to stay on AOSP download latest build of LOS 15.1 3.3.2018 from changelog: "Fixed charging with device powered off"
My OnePlus one is only showing OnePlus logo screen and turning off, I flashed stock ROM through my computer as I thought it got soft bricked, nothing worked, when I connect it to the battery charger it shows battery charging, I guess there's some hardware problem, any suggestions will be helpful, thank you

option 1 : Do a complete wipe in TWRP (system, data, cache, dalvik) and then flash the stock rom again.
option 2: use the "back to stock/restore soft bricked device" option on bacon root toolkit using your pc
If this dosen't work only then it could be a possible hardware issue.
i have the same problem, but it survived with a simple things.
Fully charged your phone, try installing twrp (i think the newest one) and try to full wipe data, and installing new rom.
I installed lineage os 14.1 everything work.
And if it still bootloop, try to replacement the battery, and fully charged. Then try flash twrp and new rom.
good luck

I tried installing ROM through TWRP but when I used to start the installation the process used to suddenly stop and the device used to boot for no reason, and now it is not showing any recovery, I flashed stock recovery still nothing

Tried everything what you said except replacing the battery, it still shows OnePlus logo and turns off, guess the problem is with the hardware (battery or motherboard)

I'd like to generate a thread with tried and tested ROMs, recovery, and root methods like magisk for the Moto G6
I'd especially like to see a working TWRP (official or unofficial), magisk boot img, and any known working custom ROMs
It's all in Guides, News, and Discussions already.
edit: and there's fairly obviously a thread with a working TWRP build in this section. I don't understand what you're asking?

Check out the treble-enabled device forums. For a while, this is more or less what you're going to have to pick through.

How do you mean bricked? Where is the phone hanging? I assume you already had unlocked your bootloader before attempting rooting/magisk?

Yes i had bootloader unlocked but it still unrooted and its got bricked before i even try for rooting. First of all let me tell u the chronologies. I had this phone from someone in US as a gift but i cant use it on my country(because of network) so i give it a try by unlock the bootlooder, it was succeeded and one day comes update which is april 2018 patch. After the update my phone was unstable, self reboot and bootloops and i found that the screen is flickering sometimes. Then at one night it suddenly turned off when i was sleeping. I tried all method combination button but no luck, it is caused by a bad battery or firmware fail? Please help me!!!
Note: i only got led blinking if i press power plus plugged in charger, the led blinking faster after +20 sec
One single blink every 5 sec and then blinking goes faster after +20 sec for about 5 blinks and repeat to state one single blink. Seems like battery related but i have already open the backcase to see, if i unplugged its battery then push the buttons combination the led is blinking faster like the final state -sorry for bad english

For ex : it wont blinking at all if the battery completely empty. Then if i charge for awhile it would blink if i pressed power with vol down (after 20 sec) as i described above. Untill the final state of LED i release power and vol down and immediatly pressed vol up then its LED will keep blinking fast forever as long as the charger is plugged in
My moto g6 also appears to be bricked
I don't want to hijack this thread, but since I'm a new member I can't start a forum thread. Now on to the issue with my g6...
When I plug in my g6 the only thing that happens is a small white led flashes at the top right part of the unit. After about 20 mins or so it stops flashing. Holding down the vol+power buttons to go into recover just cycles the power off and on, with the white led flashing just like before. No recovery screen appears, no android robot; only the blinking white led--the display is otherwise entirely blank & black (meaning not lit at all).
When I connect the g6 to my PC I hear the usual "USB beep" indicating that it's recognized the phone being connected, but it does not show any drive or device either in Device Manager or in Explorer. I'm using Win10, with all the Motorola drivers+software installed.
I rooted the phone some time ago, and the bootloader was unlocked before the phone went dead. The last thing I did with the phone was to flash an Android 9 image from the forum here while the phone was connected to my PC.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...android-aosp-9-0-pie-android-9-0-0r1-t3847354
I had flashed others images with no problems up to that point, even the one linked above. But I re-flashed that image since I wanted to "reset" the image to it's stock point (I had made some settings and added apps I wanted to remove, start clean again). The ONLY thing I did different was that the battery was about 50% so I left the phone charge on one of my PC's USB ports while the image was installing. When I checked the phone the next morning it was dead. Afterwards I let it charge for a week but nothing.
Last but not certainly least, I have also tried two different batteries I ordered from Amazon. No change with either one (blinking white led), despite charging each with the original charger for one week.
Sorry for being so long-winded, but I wanted to give as much detail as possible to see if someone here may have a solution. My guess is that I made an incredibly stupid mistake by letting the phone charge from my PC while flashing/installing the A9 image; I really should have left it on my moto g6 charger.

My OnePlus 8T seems hard-bricked, it can not boot anymore, when plugin ( had to disconnected the battery connector ) it's screen only flash the Logo and vibrate then auto reboot and keep looping. So I need the test point map of this device in order to force flash the firmware, hence, if anyone have it's test point map, please help to share. Or any other solutions may work with the situation.
Thanks in advance!
I had something similar happen: see https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/how-to-get-out-of-endless-oos-boot-animation-solved.4366923/
So I'd suggest that you let the battery drain which will turn the phone off. Then charge it for a bit and connect it took the MSM Tool to restore your phone.

It looks similar to what happened to me. I think I got a bit of the red and white circle before it restarted.
Don't try to go into bootloader. From power off, go straight to MSM.

I experienced your issue with my hiccup a week ago, required the use of MSM tool (full reinstall of OOS)...i kept getting an error on install as it would reboot back to recovery and never finish the process. What corrected it was that I had to change "slot" and upon reboot MSM tool worked.
I use TWRP which was flashed on both a & b
