Did not uninstall mine. Might have been a fluke, or possibly an old version, I know that my HN8 did that with an older app I had.

I have pretty much changed permissions for all apps, I would guess it has something to do with that. Check settings as well as "App launch" in Huawei "Phone manager".

Hello to all,
I dont know if someone did create this post earlier cause i did not find it, correct me if i am wrong.
I am owner of nexus 5 and i have an issue with third party launchers like nova launcher.
I installed recently nova launcher and when i pressed home button it asked me as usually which launcher i prefer
to have as default. I have chosen nova as always..
But when i use google search for example and then i press home button again suddently the window is poping up
again on which launcher i prefer and i choose nova all the time...
This story is too annoying cause it cannot remember that i said always to be nova as default.
If someone has faced this problem your help will be apriciated...
Sorry for bad english if i made mistakes...
Thanks in advance!!!
did you double check in settings > home to see if nova was sticking as the default launcher there? do you have the free or paid version? just curious.

Ok i figgured it out what went wrong!!!
I downloaded and installed an app called sport.gr which is for sport news and this app suddendly appeared
at home screens at settings.
I unistalled it and everything is fine thanks for your time!
:good:
Did Verizon disable this for some reason? Or did HTC? When I open the Google Search app (where you can usually say "Ok Google" to jump into voice commands), the settings say it's enabled, however it doesn't say "ok google" next to the microphone icon in the search bar, like it usually does
It's especially weird because I vaguely remember using the Ok Google a few days after I got it, but I could be mistaken (quite often this is the case)
No matter how loud I've screamed at it, it's not working. Anybody else having this?
Lol. The m8 isn't "always listening"
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
Ok Google works with this phone. There is a setting that enables hot word detection in Google now, check there.

I know it's not always listening. However you usually can say OK Google from the Google now app to go to voice commands
And I already have it on in the settings, but it's not working.
Oh and also when I installed the Google now launcher to see if it would work on the home screen there, it didn't.

Is your app out of date perhaps? It works fine for me, but it is limited to the Google Now app. I can't do it on the homescreen, but it works perfectly fine from the Google Now app (swipe up from home).
If you are totally up to date, maybe try going with a factory reset.

actually, this is how it works for me as well. I was hoping to get it from the home screen but swiping up is ok...not totally hands free but close.

If you want it on the homescreen, you'll have to sideload the Google Now Launcher APK and use that instead of BlinkFeed. You do lose access to HTC's widgets, but other than that there's not much difference.
If you want to do that, here's the XDA thread to get the APK:

Now Launcher's folders are a white circle background with the "stack" icon effect. You can simulate this in Nova and see how you like it before installing.
Nova Settings > Folders > Background > White Circle
Nova Settings > Folders > Style > Stack

Hello to the lucky ones who have their m30p with google play...
Just wondering, were you able to change the Launcher on your phones to replace EMUI 10 Launcher?
I read here and there, that Huawei blocked third party launchers on the chinese variants of their phones (from EMUI 8)... is this true? Is it possible to make it work via ADB on this EMUI 10?
I haven't got mine yet, but so far my research is no, you can't. There are other apps to disable packages, I will try them but so far it is not positive.
Back to your question, if that is true. Yes, it is.
They blocked that due to fraud replaces their stock launcher with a mock one that have ads or malicious behaviors and sell it to ppl who are not techy.
I thought that excuse is lame since there are other default apps to replace.
mine is not here until Monday. I think i have read in the forums that the stock can disabled with ADB.
ADB does not work for me...
pm uninstall gives the [DELETE_FAILED_INTERNAL_ERROR]
suggestions welcome

Doesn't work for me still, but if it will eventually - could you kindly explain what settings you changed?
And what you proceeded to do to remove the stock launcher? (Regular adb uninstall method?)
Thanks!

Sorry I didn't change stock launcher I was speaking in regards to the project menu( didn't seem to always appear but will eventually.
I have done all of this but the app says cant disable/uninstall the Huawei home apk contact us for more support
I've spent a lot of time trying to get round this on my Mate 30 Pro.
I've tried every vector I can think of and no dice yet sadly!
Today I had update 132 on my LIO AL00 and now I can use Nova launcher as the default launcher.
IGNORE THAT . When it rebooted after update it asked me if I wanted to use Nova or Hauwei Home.. Now its defaulted back to Huawei Home and no option for Nova
Anyone? I'm almost going to sell it just because I cant have Nova as default launcher?

You can't on the china version but on the international you can change the default launcher.
I don't think there is a solution as of now, maybe we have to live with default Huawei launcher for some time.

Please post a screenshot of this option in launcher setting. Thanks
I also have Google feed enabled and didn't found any option in launcher settings to change or disable it.
I would like to know how to turn this on as I also just have some smart assistant thing when I swipe across.
I've changed to Action Pixel launcher to get the Google feed enabled but I feel that none of the launchers i've tried so far are as smooth or responsive as the stock ColorOS launcher.

Yes, i'm sure. But I think it may depend on the operator's branding. My phone is branded for Vodafone, perhaps Oppo does some things on their request.

This is an animated gif, not a picture. If you can't see animation, try to change your browser.
Very curious to find out if installing the launcher version from devices with Google Feed will enable it on devices without Google Feed. Can someone with one of these regional/branded devices check the version number of their launcher?
On certain Huawei phones it was possible to enable the feed by ADB disabling HiBoard. Unfortunately disabling Oppo's feed with ADB does not enable the Google Feed.
The version number is visible in the screenshot in the attachment.
..i have color os version 7.2 (11_A.30) and google feed is only available as a choice (option) in smart assistant settings, simply swiping from left to right opens assistant and you have to choose ( predefined ) from settings ( icon on the top right hand side )
Having the same trouble. Clueless here. Anyone had the same issue and fixed it? Oppo A72 here on Android 10 coloros 7.1
Switched off the Google news feed but when I swipe from left to right, I still have Google but its blank.. anyway.of changing it to another app or switching it off completely?
Hi,
I found a way to "disable" the Google feed without installing another launcher.
If you hide the Google App in the Privacy Settings, when you swipe left, nothing happens. The icon at the bottom which indicates how many pages there are is still visible but honestly it doesn't bother me much.
Hopefully, Oppo will add the option to hide the Google Feed page.
Cheers
