I want that case but I have 2 concerns!
1. Should I go without a screen protector?
Comment: I don't like screen protectors cause they ALWAYS have air bubbles then that's money down the drain cause they annoy me.
2. I heard the charger port opening is small and breaks easily, also spigen is bad about replacing the border. Opinion/experience?

My frame broke in about 3 weeks with CAREFUL usage and barely taking the case off. Just chucked the case and frame and went naked for now with a carbon fiber skin on the back

My neo hybrid Chinese knock off broke too, but I have the original for about 3 months and I'm well happy.
about the screen protector, the cheap ones indeed leave air bubbles and are crap, but I've been using the better ones on my Galaxy Nexus and now on S4 and they are really good and they don't leave greasy finger stains on the screen as much as when you don't have one on.

I've had the Spigen Neo Hybrid since August and I have no regrets, a little chip in the plastic frame from what be an otherwise very unfortunate drop. Sorry to hear others are having issues with theirs, and I think they updated the design to make it less prone to breaking.

I hate screen protectors too but they are absolutely necessary to preserve the longevity of the phone. I bought the tempered glass screen protector from Spigen Glas.TR SLIM. If it wasn't for the rounded lip around the protector you'd never think it wasn't the actual glass of the touch screen. It was the best 35 dollars I ever spent.
I have had the original Neo sine the phone came out and it is still in greta condition. I would definitely get a screen protector. I would recommend the Spigen crystal series, it is hardly even noticeable.
DO get a screen protector. I know this phone has a tough glass front, but better to be safe than sorry right? I have a Spigen crystal clears which I picked up for like $4 on amazon (it is a genuine product) and its a great screen protector.
DON'T get the hybrid, my frame broke near the USB port, the back warped and pulled away from the phone, Spigen only has a 90 warranty and ONLY if you buy it from them.

Screen protectors are not ABSOLUTELY neccessary. It really depends on how you care for the phone.
I've never used screen protectors. I keep my phone in my front pockey, glass facing in, and the only other thing I ever keep in that pocket is money (which is made of cloth, so it's not going to hurt the phone)
I've never had a single scratch.
If I were to drop the phone or slam it into something, a screen protector isn't going to help anyway.
Now if you keep your phone in a pocket with keys, or a purse with everything else that goes into a purse, or anything like that, that's a different story. But even then a screen protector isn't going to stop your phone from getting messed up eventually. It's goign to wear out much quicker than projected.

1.) Currently using a tempered glass screen protector on mine (Which is alil bit thicker) makes the "Lip protection" non-existent. So I'd get some sort of screen protector because that lip is pretty minimal.
2.) Had that concern for myself before I bought mine, truth is..if you use the OEM Sammy cable you'd be fine. Also to put on and off the case correctly lol.
BTW: Had mine since July and its still going other than a few lil chips on the frame..

Ultra Thin Air for like 10$ or the Slim Armor (Be careful with the white version though, mine is starting to fade in to yellow in certain areas )
Any screen protector / Tempered glass can get air bubbles if theres dust..But for some its normal to have bubbles as they go away within like 12hours. Tempered glass are removable annnnnd all the sensors work great with mine.
I've been using the Neo Hybrid for about two months now. It fits good and snug and shows no signs of wear. The plastic bumper is a little thin around the charging port but treat it well and you'll be OK. Plus, the button extenders on the sides feel really good and "clicky", instead of mushy as some of the rubber ones do.
As far as screen protection goes, I've always used the Zagg Invisible Shield but when I bought the S4 the sales guy threw in the Bulletproof protector for free. He even applied it for me, and I wanted to shake his hand afterward. Perfect positioning, no bubbles (I mean absolutely none), and he did it in about three tenths of a second.

I've never used a screen protector on ANY of my phones, never had an issue, so I don't believe in them. as far as the Neo Hybrid breaking near the charger port, I don't get how so many people break them, I remove my case once a day to switch batteries and I've never had an issue, maybe take a little care when removing the case

I use a glass screen protector. Maintains the glassy feel without sacrificing screen security. The neo hybrid is overhyped in my opinion. I bought it and the main thing that I did not like is how easy it was to press the power button. Without the case, the power button rarely got pressed in my pocket, but with the case on, any light tap on would push it and turn my screen on.
I am waiting for my Galaxy S6 arrives. Does the screen easily scratched? I don't want to take extremely good care of it.
And also does anyone try using tempered glass protector? How does it feel compared to regular?
I have preordered an extended battery case and they promised to give me a tempered glass protector. I'll let you all know how it works once I get them.

I got the zagg tempered glass protector and it feels pretty solid. IMO the gorilla glass 4 feels a bit better but it's super clear and feels nice.
The S6 is made of Gorilla glass corning 4 so it's pretty tough but it wouldn't hurt to have some sort of protection. I have IQShield screen protectors and it provides full coverage. Check them out on Amazon. Also it's currently on sale.

My screen on my S6 has scratched really really easy, only had a few days and there is a one inch very deep scratch on the screen. in all the years I've had a phone I've never scratched a phone so badly as this. The worsted thing is i have no idea how it happened. had my S5 for about 18 months with not one single mark or anything to the phone screen

Sorry to hear about the deep scratch. I don't have a screen protector on mine yet, though I just received the BodyGuardz Ultra Tough. I've been careful, but I'm not using a case or screen protector at all currently and have just been putting it in my pocket thus far. I would say scratches were much easier to put on my previous phone, which was the crusty old S3.
OP, I think that the screen can and will scratch somewhat easily. I think that if you don't want to take extra precautions with the phone on a day-to-day basis, I would recommend getting a screen protector and/or a case. These just allow you to be a little more clumsy and not have any repercussions. (or fewer repercussions.)

i got one or two fine scratch before i got the zagg screen protector but i got the hd not the glass
with the case can't really tell it there

doesn't scratch easily but my oleophobic coating is already wearing and ive had it since april 10th
i've had the phone since launch and been using it without screen protector and have not notice any scratches at all. Im not careful with my phone too. Put it in my pocket with keys and change regularly and put it screen down, since the camera makes the phone slippery when it's on smooth uneven surfaces. With previous phones, nexus 4 and 5, they would have some micro scratches by now. I dont get this obsession over getting scratches on a screen that are not noticeable when the screen is on. You are only going to have this phone for a year or two so i dont see what the big deal is.

I'm planning on getting a screen protector not only to prevent further scratching, but also to ensure the current scratch won't be visible to the naked eye. Albeit knowing that there already is a scratch truly grinds my gear.

I sometimes miss my old moto x 2013-- that thing NEVER scratched no matter what. I had that thing naked for a two years and I re-sold it in immaculate condition. I dropped that thing dozens of times, and it was never harmed once. I miss that thing...
I had a fine scratch on mine after a couple days of use. Luckily Rogers let me exchange mine anyway cause mine had a slightly looser than normal home button.
Quickly put on a tempered glass protector on both the front and back.

Thank you for your opinion-- do you have a brand that you recommend? I think we all know that glass screen protectors are the way to go, but it's a matter of which company you buy from that determines the success or failure of the screen protector.
i scratched the flash/heart rate monitor sensor glass, luckily everything still works and i'm thankful it wasn't my camera lens
I have the S6 for one week nude and no scratches, though I am very careful.
I am just a little annoyed by the reflection rainbow effect the screen does under sunlight, will a tempered glass take it away?

Would you kindly provide an update to this case? I am very hesitant to order it for several reasons. I already have neo hybrid metal as protective case and spigen liquid crystal for slim daily carry. Waterproof feature of LP fre entices me, but given the price ($70 in canada), and all the issues I've been reading about keeps me from finalizing my purchase.
As an owner, any insight?
I have completely submerged my S6 (unprotected) in water twice (I know.....WTF is my problem) with absolutely no ill effects. I have now and do recommend protection for such a gem of a phone but there are better deals to be had. Go to Amazon (I swear by 'em), find something that suits you and you will be surprised at the money that can be saved. That being said put the time in reading multiple reviews as these are crucial to get a real world opinion and I think you will find your due diligence pays off in the long run. Best wishes to you.

So i pulled the trigger and bought the lifeproof fre for s6. My biggest discomfort in using this case this the fact that screenprotector is lifted from the phone screen, and it takes more effort to press on the screen. This problem is more pronounced with typing, as it won't register the touches as easily..
How are you guys doing with this, and is there a fix?
I was thinking maybe getting a glass screen protector to lessen the gap..

I got a replacement from amazon today. The pillow effect (gap between screen protector and phone screen) is much less noticeable, and it's a pleasure to use.
I guess with lifeproof, it's hit-or-miss with their quality.
Was going to buy this case but the screen protector is not that good as it says on the review. Do we have to use the screen protector that comes with the case because I've already got my own nice screen protector. Thanks
I have 20 or so cases for the s6. They always seemed to lack something. This is by far my favorite and I've had it on for like 4 months now. I wouldn't say the screen protector is low quality as much as it's what's required for something that can't stick to the phone. I have a matte screen protector underneath and it closing the gap a bit between the screen protector on the phone and also gets rid of the Newton effect. The rainbow colored rings. You do lose a bit of the screen quality but overall it's a trade off I was willing to make. Here's a link to the screen protector I use

The one thing I do wish they would do. Or at least give it a shot is try to hybrid in a glass screen protector into the case. Might just have glass before the phone starts to get ready and then have that go into the plastic screen protector. I don't know, I just think that would be pretty cool or a screen protector designed for this case made of glass. But then you deal with the broken glass issues and that affecting the waterproofness.

I liked the case so much that I ordered a black case for myself, in addition to a white version.
The black one had a terrible pillow effect (a gap between screen protector and phone). It made typing difficult as it requires more force to register the input. Contacted amazon, and they were out of cases.
Contacted lifeproof, paid $5 for replacement and what a breeze. They didn't hassle me to send photos of problem, nor the product shipped back to them. They sent a brand new case, and if it had the same problem, they promised to send another case for free.
The customer service rep I spoke to was wonderful, and I was delighted after the phone call.
Also, I added a 0.2mm glass screen protector under my white case (which does not have pillow effect).
And I'm happy to report that it's working great.

The door for the charging port broke on mine. I will, however, consider it completely my fault. I had taken my phone off the charger when I was in my car and didn't close the door. I realized it when I had gotten out of my car and when I went to close it, the phone fell out of my hand and when it hit the pavement, it hit where the door was and it broke off.
Other than that, i've loved this case. The finger print sensor still works. My grips is that yes, the screen protector is low quality. You can feel little gaps here and there between the protector and the phone. This has caused mis-touches when typing or pressing on the the corners of the screen. On black background, I can see what looks like oil spot from where certain parts of the screen protector are touching the screen while other areas are not. It took me a while to get used to the bulkiness of the case but hey, it's a tough case. And I see people complain about how the sound is very low when this case is on. Are people really that stupid? Your phone is completely enclosed, so obviously the sound is going to be reduced. And the protector on the back side does scratch very easily. My phone is constantly going in and out of my pocket and it has caused scratches. Luckily, I don't see these on the front protector.

Not only does the case fail to do what is advertised and promised, the customer service from Lifeproof is worse. All I can say is DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! My phone took a short 4 foot fall onto a flat surface and the screen cracked with this case on. Now, they say the case is "Drop Proof" up to 6.6 feet or 2 meters. 4 feet is shorter than that. What does LifeProof offer after their product fails to do as advertised on the packaging and marketing? A replacement case. Wow, how underwhelming. How about you refund me for the case of my cost of $80, pay for the costs of shipping the phone to Samsung for repairs $100, and pay for the replacement screen $240? That would seem more than fair since it was your case which failed to do as marketed and as advertised. But, when asked to do these simple things LifeProof only offers to send a replacement case... If you ask for a refund, they tell you they cannot and will not do this. Whatever happened to standing behind your product LifeProof? What happened to making sure a customer who has suffered damages at your failure to provide the promised advertised protections is made whole and complete? Because of their bad responses and inability to even offer a viable solution I am making sure others are not harmed by writing this review in hopes they do not suffer as I have had to.

I am not seeing this screen protector mentioned much. I put it on dry first so as to have screen protection the first few days I set up my phone. Before I received my note 9 it was obvious I would have to set things up differently due to the taller aspect ratio. The s pen did mostly fine even though it was a quick, terrible and bubbly install.
This morning I put it on wet and have noticed it self heals much quicker. I let it dry naturally a couple hours on it's own, have let it set in the sun a few moments twice and intentionally using in the sun to see how bad the glare is and help the edges cure. I have some Ringke sp's I probably won't end up using them. I figured the neo flex would suck but quite the contrary. Unless you use the s pen extensively and the pressure sensitivity very hard these neo flex might be the answer for you.
I might try a Whitestone down the road but already have some more of these neo flexes on the way. I work in the elevator trade so my phone is always at risk of breaking and screen protectors definitely getting scratched. All my glass ones eventually end up getting cracked, mostly from the most unusual of things and not drops. I will update this topic should my opinion change and when I get my first heavy scratch.
BTW, I am using Samsung rugged cover as my daily driver case. I also have a Spigen tough armor that mates well with the neo flex sp. I asked Spigen if they could do a case similar to the Samsung rugged cover. It would be nice to have the comfort of the Samsung case with the tactile buttons minus the bixby button. I asked to leave the bixby button flat like the tough armor case to avoid accidental presses.
This isn't a review or obligation from Spigen. I bought these on my own, have more on the way and have not seen them mentioned much. I also asked Spigen if they can go any harder on the hardness and still accommodate the edges. I doubt it. Just wanted to give y'all a heads up since so many screen protectors are duds these days and good tempered glass is expensive. I wish power support made sp's and glass for Samsung phones. I have used their products on Motorola's and iPhones and they are usually the best.
The reviews on Amazon are pretty harsh. I wanted to leave a 5 star review with a small criticism but I think Amazon is trying to curtail dubious reviews of which mine should've been a verified purchase so wtf. For $10 I think some people give the wet installation of these a try.

I haven't babied the pixel 7 pro by any means and there is absolutely no scratches or defects in the coating. I'm very happy that Google finally addressed this. Anyone else notice an improvement in the material quality of the screen. ?

My Pixel 7 Pro had a screen protector being applied to it within 15 seconds of coming out of its box, it wasn't even turned on. Gorilla Glass Victus is well known for being great in terms of shatter resistance on drops, but is hopeless when it comes to scratches.
Phones too slippery not to have at least a thin case on for my liking, i do appreciate people like yourself who still raw dog that **** bareback. But yeah my screen has no protector on and its scratch free, i work on a building site also.
I started with case with my samsung Note 9 and have been using them ever since. I think that's when I started with the screen protectors too. I am partial to the matte ones because of how it reduces glare and hides fingerprints well.

The scratches I'm talking about wouldn't go deep enough to reach the glass. They're entirely in the coating.
I had to take the screen protector OFF of the Pixel 6 because of the poor fingerprint reader. It developed quite a few minor scratches. I'm definitely not leaving the Pixel 7 Pro naked since now the Pixel 7 Pro has no more fingerprint issues.

For all intents and purposes, it makes no difference whether it's on the coating or the glass. You can't get rid of them.
I have a love hate relationship with screen protectors which tend to make me use the phones naked. The glass screen protectors all manage to develop big bubbles in the top right corner after a month or so because my face is oily. I guess a little bit collects on the edge and lifts it up a bit or something. The plastic films tend to be a better in this regard but look cheap. Always have issue with the finger prints when a protector in on as well. Do any decent screen protectors exit for curved screens like the P7P?
I think we'll have to wait another few weeks to determine if this is really the case. I think that the stock oleophobic coating might just be a little longer lasting this time around. But we'll have to wait and see.
But also, I am kinda babying my P7P after I had noticed said surface micro scratches on my P6P shortly after my initial unboxing.
Side note, but I'm like you and keep my phones naked - so this stuff is important to me.

I cannot imagine the rationale behind making phones slippery, especially these huge phones that cannot be easily held and used by a person with an average hand size.
I enjoy the build quality of this phone and also think the coating is good. I generally use a case and find the aluminum camera bar looks kind of cool in the case cut out. I don't do screen protectors and have generally been ok over the years, even with drops .
The P7's & P6's have been extremely slippery with the whole shiny glass but it's funny that when the Pixel 4 XL had the matted back & painted side rails it was the best feel & grip to me yet reviewers complained that it wasn't premium because it wasn't shiny like the iphones of that year. Now the same reviews are saying too many fingerprints & how the phone should be matte like the iPhone this year
I'm just happy that Google is trying to walk their own path this year and I hope they continue that.

That's really the problem with phones these days, right? Someone big (ahem Apple, Samsung) starts a trend, be it good or bad, and everyone follows it. The physical form of the smart phone has become stagnant. They all look and feel the same.
I'd take frosted glass or polycarbonate back on a premium phone if they made it, but no company has the balls to do that now
I'm enjoying my Note 20 Ultra for over 2 years now, no screen protector, zero scratches, none. I hope my already ordered p7p is equally scratch resistant...

I get the cheapest ones available - hydrogen film tpu - and it works pretty well except at the curved areas where the film tends to raise up and dust will start to collect. For my next film replacement, I will trim off 10mm from the left/right sides so that the film will just stay flat.

yeah I notice the oleophobic coating is a bit better, no discernible fingerprints on the glass yet. I found all pixel devices up until Pixel 6 Pro had really bad coating. This one is much better, but still not perfect.

I have a protector on my phone which came with a £7 transparent cover I bought on Amazon UK, so pretty much the cheapest you can get. I put it on the minute I took the phone out the box nearly two weeks ago, expecting it to be temporary just to protect the screen until I got a decent one. But and it went on perfectly and there has been no raising on the edges near the curve. It actually looks and feels like the protectors that come on phones like Samsung. I'm not going to bother with another. And to make things even better the case came with two of them, so when this ends up too marked, I'll put the other one on.

The P7's & P6's have been extremely slippery with the whole shiny glass but it's funny that when the Pixel 4 XL had the matted back & painted side rails it was the best feel & grip to me yet reviewers complained that it wasn't premium because it wasn't shiny like the iphones of that year. Now the same reviews are saying too many fingerprints & how the phone should be matte like the iPhone this year
I'm just happy that Google is trying to walk their own path this year and I hope they continue that.

Probably because all those reviewers are using the iphone as their daily and for some reason think everything should be compared to that phone. iPhones have so many negatives that people ignore in reviews but bash on if an android device has that same negative. Double standards.
