[Q] How good is sigen glass screen protector?

How good is sigen glass screen protector?

They seem to very hard to be scratch proof. Do they prevent damage of screens from falling? If not, I probably will choose a cheaper one because I never put keys or coins along with my phones. Is there any other paricular good points of glass screen protectors?

i just ordered mine yesterday i will let you know..hopefully it works amazing

If it's at least equal to the one of the s4 I can say it's the best glass screen protector I came across. And yes it protects even on the little falls. Because it protect mine when I left fall down from my hand it wasn't a big fall but when I lift the phone up the screen protector had a crack and the original phone screen had absolutely nothing

I currently have the Zagg one on mine, it works very nicely. Throw it in my motorcycle jacket pocket all the time without worrying about scratching the actual screen, especially since it has a lifetime warranty and I can just get a replacement if it scratches up too badly.
I'm sure the Spigen ones are similar.

I am currently using the Luvvitt and I have nothing but stellar remarks for it. It's cheap, and it works flawlessly. My first one had a microscopic nick in the top right edge that was preventing the screen protector from adhering on that edge. I let them know last Friday and SUNDAY the mailman hand delivered me a new one.. Not even sure how all of that happened but yeah, great customer service to boot.

and its crystal clear, easy to put on, and so far seems to be pretty rock solid. i havent thrown it down a gravel road or anything, but i am pretty impressed by how clear it is, how smooth it feels, and the time it took to install, which was about 5 minutes, followed by smoothing out one 'line' across the middle that looked like a crease or something, but went away by pushing it with my finger.

So I bought the GLAS.tr Nano the day it came out and was really excited about it. Unfortunately I was the first negative review on Amazon for the product. I got in contact with the company and it seems as though there was a batch that had issues with the tack used to stick it to the screen. Mine had several areas where it would just never stick along the edges and a huge area near the bottom that had no stick to it. I informed them and they promptly sent me a replacement. The replacement is perfect in every way and I couldn't be happier.
That said, I ordered the top rated glass protector with rounded edges on Amazon that was something like $12 for my girlfriend while I was having the issues with Spigen. Honestly the quality is almost identical for 1/3 the cost. If I had it to do over I would not have gone with the Spigen protector and gotten two of the cheaper options.
I did change my review to four stars but did not go with a full five due to it being over priced compared to the competition.

i have the same....works great....fit well...and super cheap to boot compared to the spigen:good:

I had the Spigen GlastR Nano on the S5 but had a speck of stuff under the screen. Pulled it off and installed the Zagg Glass and damn if I did not get another tiny speck under the Zagg also.
The Spigen is a nice glass but I like the Zagg a little better. Thinner, softer edges, easy tags for the install and it just feels plain nice.

MIME Feather Glass is what I ended up getting. Part of my decision was that I planned on getting my T-Mobile SGS5 from Delaware to avoid sales tax and I needed to have the screen protector (wanted to try glass for the first time too) by the time I had it too. I live in NJ and MIME is made in New York, so the quick shipping (free anyway but quick since we're neighbors) made it a good decision for me...
And I couldn't be ANY HAPPIER with my decision. It's so thin that I can barely feel it's there. I know if I went any thicker, I wouldn't like the feeling of going over the home button. The fit is beyond perfect and I don't have any scratches on it AT ALL yet. Keep in mind I go to the gym a lot and my pockets have zippers and I'm sure I'm constantly rubbing up against them when I take it out and put it in (that's what she said). No scratches at all. Responsiveness is completely unhindered.
I would highly recommend it...

Also, a little tip (regardless of brand I suppose, but the "purple film", basically a screen sized film with a very very light adhesive for "anti-dust preinstallation film" MIME gave actually came in VERY HANDY for me...) for the install!

okay, the only advice I really took here was to go into the bathroom at home (low dust environment!) and run the hot water in the shower for a bit (steam it up, even less dust).
at that point, I wiped my screen of course, then I just took the protector, handled it from the sides to make sure I got no oil on the adhesive side, and lined it up just right (worked for me, maybe you might want to try the tape method, but it may be difficult with glass protectors) and laid it down (bottom first to line up the home button perfectly). i ended up with 2 pieces of dust towards the top. damn it.
then the purple film came in damn handy. i very carefully (with my fingernails, but being careful not to actually touch under the glass and get marks on it) lifted up the glass and peeled it back just enough to get "purple film" underneath and "grab" the dust particles off of the screen. i was afraid it may leave marks or residue, but it didn't at all. not sure how painter's tape would work in this case, but I'm proud to say that I have a 100% dust free, mark free, PERFECT installation. =DDDD
then again, I have some patience and a fairly steady hand, so this may or may not work for you. I used to make money back in middle school changing out LED's on Nokia 5100's, 6100's, 8200's series... ah the old days haha. that required some steady hands. i still have my 8260 that i converted to the 8860 and soldered on the slide pin that made the sliding cover active. removing and rotating the polarized LCD films to invert the screens.. anyone remember all4cell? man i feel old now.
wow, now i'm thinking about the old TDMA networks and how much i hated GSM phones cause you couldn't change the carrier tags (on Nokias). i guess if it was still like back then, the T-Mobile Galaxy S5 threads would be the VoiceStream Galaxy S5 threads MIRITE??!
biggest advice though: go to the bathroom, steam it up (not too much)! that alone helps with the dusty environment, i thought that was very very good advice.

It's the LUVVITT brand. Maybe it's a little thicker than the Spigen, but honestly it's barely noticeable. Especially when you factor in the little ridge along the screen of the S5.

Works like a charm, and for $6 you can't really argue..why would I spend $20-$40 for a glass screen when this phone is already made with tough Gorilla glass? In my experience the best part of the glass protectors is that they feel the best. For the longest time I bought the super cheap xtremeguardz protectors on slickdeals which were good for protection but felt too tacky and got really dirty. Same with the free protector that came with spigen case for my Nexus 5. The glass ones feel like you don't have a screen protector on, shed minor damage readily, and provides the best extreme impact protection (at the cost of its own life though).
The biggest drawback is that they can chip if you drop them on cement... depends on the person, I know people who go an entire year with no screen protector, and I know others who drop their phones on pavement regularly. I recently reviewed the Movaluate 7 protector (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2744597) which has served me well so far.

Official OnePlus 6 Tempered Glass Protector. How does it Fare?

Now that people are starting to receive their phones and accessories from OnePlus, I am very curious to hear people's thoughts on the official tempered glass protector offered from OnePlus.
Specifically, how does it fit with the OEM cases OnePlus offers. Most importantly, does it fit with the thicker OnePlus Bumper cases?
The good news, according to OnePlus's official install video posted on their website, it does look like it fully adheres to the screen.

I don't get my phone until later today, so I can not confirm until then. But the two different customer service reps I talked to guaranteed the TGP works with the OEM bumper cases. They said the only case it isn't compatible with is the outterbox case.

Looking forward to your results! If it does fit with the OEM bumper case (specifically the Nylon bumper case for me) I'll use my $20 promo voucher to order the glass protector as well.

I will say the preapplied plasic protector surprised me.wkth how good it feels. I usually do a glass protector but once I get my I will probably leave the plasitc on to see how it wears. Be good for the long term review since most on even know it's there at first

So as I have done every year, I'm going to be testing out as many accessories that I can get my hands on, starting with the Official Tempered Glass Screen Protector!

Some of you wonder why take of the pre-applied factory screen? Well for me, it's all about finding the best protection for your device and from experience the pre-applied screen is not that. It's a nice bonus, as if you're not buying the official you'll have to wait around a week or so before third party manufacturers get screens ready for sale. Mine was also riding slightly high on the screen, which meant using it whilst having gestures turned on was a bit of a nightmare.
As usual the screen protector, comes well packaged, with some excellent tools- most of which you won't need if you're taking the pre-applied screen off and then putting this one on straight away.
The screen protector as with the last few years comes on a single slab of plastic/glass, which you will need to be careful off when you're removing the screen protector from it. I've seen many people CRACK their screen protector at this point. Don't be that person! Go slow, but surely. And for goodness sake once you've peeled it off, don't turn it around and let all the dust particles in your house get on it!
The screen protector fits nicely on the phone and feels pretty decent. High quality!

^ Dang! I can't believe how difficult it was for him to remove the bubbles with that protector. And in the end it still had a bubble that kept returning. This sure did make me glad I opted not to pay extra for that tempered glass protector. It's almost as if it doesn't have strong enough adhesive.
Regardless, I plan on sticking with the pre-applied screen protector for a bit before making a decision on a glass protector. In fact, if the pre-applied protector holds up well, I may not ever bother taking it off. I must say that it would be really nice to finally get a phone and never even worry about spending money on a screen protector, or trying to perfectly apply one, for that matter.
I just hope my pre-applied protector isn't positioned too high, as the above video reviewer mentioned his was.

unfortunately my preapplied screen protector is a tiny bit too high for my taste too, so when swiping up with gestures enabled you can feel the slight edge :/
I really hope whitedome is going to bring a TGSP for the OP6 on the market

Do you think the bit the pops up might simply be just because of the curvature of the screen towards the corner?
(curved screened phones are always a nightmare when it comes to putting screen protectors on). If the underside of the screen protector is curved aswell in order to fit the curved screen of the device, even a fraction of difference can cause these kinds of problems, whereas flat ones you can even get away with them positioned slightly off, and they will always sit down perfectly flat.
Can you confirm whether the curvature of the OnePlus 6's screen is just around the edges, or is it the whole of the front that is actually curved?
(If you see what I mean).
I could be wrong, but from what I can see on the video, it does almost look like it's the whole screen that is rounded and not just the edges (but it's hard to tell from a video, so can't know for sure)

My pre-applied protector only lasted an hour on mine. The edges don't stick enough to avoid random lint and dust from sliding just a bit underneath it. Also the swipe up gestures from the bottom of the phone feel weird as you bump the protector. I'm not sure but I think it's because the protector is a bit thick.

That’s a shame. My phone arrives today and we leave for Mexico tomorrow for a week. I was hoping the pre-applied protector would be perfect. The edges of it are probably going to look like garbage by the time we get back.

I really like the TGP. It fits seamlessly with the nylon case where the edges go all the way to the case and it feels completely natural. I thought the black outlining would bother me, but it works really well with the phone. I highly recommend the OEM TGP. No issues with it being compatible with the bumper case.

I have read on a Dutch forum that there is only glue on the edges of the screen protector. The middle is coated with some sort of oil so you won't see any bubbles.
This would explain the YouTube video with the corner not sticking. Could somebody confirm this?

This is a problem with all "curved edge" phones. Really makes me wish Samsung did not have as much sway in the market as they do. We would still have flat screens!

The tempered glass screen protector from OnePlus has adhesive throughout the entire protector, not just around the sides. Watch an install video and you'll see.

It wasn't to bad. There were a couple of stubborn small bubbles, but it you press and hold on them for a second or two with the included tool they go right away. I have a completely bubble free TGP that took maybe 2 minutes to put on

Well crap. Now I wish I went ahead and ordered the protector with the phone. Now I've got to get through a week in Mexico with the pre-applied protector and hope it doesn't peel up until I get back.
Ordering the TGSP from OnePlus right now. Thanks for your input.

Just installed it and it looks great in my opinion! Wasn't that hard. If you apply it with the included case on, it helps a ton with lining it up; you literally just need to drop it into place.
I did get a couple pieces of dust underneath but they are super small and hardly noticeable, so I don't want to risk lifting the protector to remove it (risking more dust to get under) (or risking losing adhesion).
It does have a bit of that "3D look" but I got used to it very quick and now I don't notice it.
If there is text way at the edge of the screen, it does slightly get cut off but luckily most apps/websites don't have text that close to the edge.
Overall it's a solid protector and I'm probably going to stick with it until the end of its life (unless it cracks or something of course lol).

Spigen Neo Flex...

I am not seeing this screen protector mentioned much. I put it on dry first so as to have screen protection the first few days I set up my phone. Before I received my note 9 it was obvious I would have to set things up differently due to the taller aspect ratio. The s pen did mostly fine even though it was a quick, terrible and bubbly install.
This morning I put it on wet and have noticed it self heals much quicker. I let it dry naturally a couple hours on it's own, have let it set in the sun a few moments twice and intentionally using in the sun to see how bad the glare is and help the edges cure. I have some Ringke sp's I probably won't end up using them. I figured the neo flex would suck but quite the contrary. Unless you use the s pen extensively and the pressure sensitivity very hard these neo flex might be the answer for you.
I might try a Whitestone down the road but already have some more of these neo flexes on the way. I work in the elevator trade so my phone is always at risk of breaking and screen protectors definitely getting scratched. All my glass ones eventually end up getting cracked, mostly from the most unusual of things and not drops. I will update this topic should my opinion change and when I get my first heavy scratch.
BTW, I am using Samsung rugged cover as my daily driver case. I also have a Spigen tough armor that mates well with the neo flex sp. I asked Spigen if they could do a case similar to the Samsung rugged cover. It would be nice to have the comfort of the Samsung case with the tactile buttons minus the bixby button. I asked to leave the bixby button flat like the tough armor case to avoid accidental presses.
This isn't a review or obligation from Spigen. I bought these on my own, have more on the way and have not seen them mentioned much. I also asked Spigen if they can go any harder on the hardness and still accommodate the edges. I doubt it. Just wanted to give y'all a heads up since so many screen protectors are duds these days and good tempered glass is expensive. I wish power support made sp's and glass for Samsung phones. I have used their products on Motorola's and iPhones and they are usually the best.
The reviews on Amazon are pretty harsh. I wanted to leave a 5 star review with a small criticism but I think Amazon is trying to curtail dubious reviews of which mine should've been a verified purchase so wtf. For $10 I think some people give the wet installation of these a try.

[QUESTION] Rhinoshield protection solutions for the Note 9

Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone has tried the rhinoshield cases + screen / back protectors for the Note 9.
I have seen plenty of reviews praising both the solidsuit and crash guard, but not much about the frontal screen protector (the one they claim to be full adhesive). Any impressions on this one?

I also want to know about the lenses that can be attached to the solidsuit if anyone knows

I am using the Solid suit currently and its been almost 2 weeks and so far so good.
I had the Spigen tough armour earlier which was little bulky so thought of using this one
My colleague has been using the solid suit for his galaxy s9+ and he has dropped it preety much everywhere and he is preety happy with the performance
I have ordered the Rhinoshield Wide+Macro lens + adapter so still waiting for the delivery

For the tempered glass with adhesive i have been using the Spigen one and i am preety much satisfied with it. Moreover it costs little less than the rhinoshield

I totally disliked the front screen protector. It doesn't have black edges but dot matrix ans the common horrible rainbow effects in the middle of the screen.

I would love to try some screen protectors, but my only concern is that I won't able to wash my phone. Ever since I had galaxy S8 plus, I have been washing the phone regularly (3 times a week) with lukewarm water and once twice a month with hand soap. Owned Note 8 and S9 plus, continued the same tradition and the phones were in better condition when I sold them used.
Using a nice glass shield might make me happy, but I am not sure having additional layer of glass would make me any happier. As we know smartphone manufacturers try every year to reduce the thickness of glass as much possible because it makes the phone more beautiful.
I used liquid nano crystal on S8 plus and that was the stupidest mistake. Even though the protection worked, that killed Samsung's dust resistance coating making it a fingerprint magnet. Just few minutes after a clean wash phone would look very oily, dusty and old. In the end phone fell out of my pocket and accidentally closed the car door, smashing the phone. Phone was bent in the center, Samsung said they won't repair due to possible motherboard damage. Lesson learnt - If the phone is destined to shatter, you won't be able to protect it

Encased Rebel & GPEL Glass Screen Protector

I'm very OCD when it comes to my phones, I think anyone who'd join XDA probably is, but over my life as a musician & recording enthusiast I've learned that pampering & protecting my gear/kit/tech, etc. yields big dividends: longer life, higher resale value, better obsolescence rejection, etc.
On my smartphone I like a heavy duty case, cause I drop my phone more than I'd like to admit. Not from 6 feet on concrete drops, but plenty of sitting on the couch/edge of bed drowsy drops to the carpet below. I want a stout case also because it makes these increasingly paper thin devices easier to handle. After hunting one down I bought the Encased Rebel, which is basically a very good OtterBox clone, and for the screen protector, after buying several through trial and error, the GPEL Note 9 glass protector is working very well.
The hard part in using a really stout case with Samsung's curved screened phones is that after getting one with a raised lip around the screen (a feature you want), most glass screen protectors don't provide enough clearance to avoid rubbing against the raised lip of the case, causing it to peel off and eventually drop off. The GPEL protector, labeled case friendly, has a few millimeters taken away from the edge of the protector that allows the case to rest besides it with no contact.
I'm adding some pictures I posted in my Amazon reviews of these two products that show a bit of what I'm trying to describe, sorry they're not pro level by far. But for under $30 you can get a very good heavy-duty case & a screen protector that is performing great; no need for the increased sensitivity feature to be turned on & no separation or bubbles anywhere. Since there's no adhesive on the main center glass, just on the edges, in some light a slight rainbow effect can be seen, but it's nothing that interferes with the screens quality during normal viewing.
Just offering this duo as a suggestion, for when I got my Note 9 I wish there were a few more real world use descriptions about which heavy duty case worked well with what screen protector. Be cool...

Think I'm gonna get one of those screen protectors and see how it works with some optical adheasive.

Just wasted $53.00 on the ZAGG Elite (full adhesive) for the Note 9. This thing cracked just using the included squeegee trying to get the massive amount of bubbles out. Now, I have the pay ZAGG $9.99 just to ship me a replacement.
Might order the G-Pel and give it a try while waiting on ZAGG to send my replacement.

Fuhhh...Well, let me put over GPEL here like I did in my Amazon review, I just didn't want to come off as some shill. When I first ordered the Note 9 glass protector from GPEL on Amazon it showed up in a rough looking package which, sure as sh#t, contained my 2 pack of protectors with a crack in one of them.
I emailed GPEL's customer support and within hours they emailed me a confirmation number of the replacement shipment. Really good customer service. I despise installing screen protectors: the plastic film type were hell with the air bubbles, the wet application protectors are such a hassle, worrying about stray dust, etc. The GPEL has this bracket that came with it that makes lining up the glass really t. The key is patience and having plenty of light. Good luck brother...

I've noticed it really depends on lighting for some reason. In my kitchen with lots of high watt LCD floods I can see a bit of a rainbow/oil slick but with the screen on and the brightness even as low as 35% or full blast it's pretty much a no issue.
But in other lighting in my house & at times outdoors, I can't see any rainbow/slick whatsoever. So I don't know; to me the only time I notice it or it bugs me is when the screen is off.

I used one of those and I have a few notes on it.
-Adheasive is strong and super thick. Will add impact protection but being so this squeegeeing you have to be careful. Very easy to crack since the adhesive is so thick and soft.
- One the corner would not stick. Mesured it at work the top right corners adheasive was 50um thicker then the rest. This was from a bad batche. Replacement was fine.
-borderes cutinto the display. You will lose the very edge and have an annoying tiny thin line of light when you are in a dark room looking at it.
-soft adheasive when pressing on a corner you can see it ooze out. It returns to normal but this will collect dust at the edges. I'm
Really like to see that as a all clear glass and better guide on how to squeegee it. Mine did not break but I could feel flex. Requires a more gentle touch when doing this. And the time required to get the bubbles out is increased 5 fold because of this. But that soft adheasive add impact protection.

You got any tips to help me get the replacement on without cracking the thing?
I guess just be careful along the edges.

I had my first drop, from about 3 ft in the bathroom, on tile floor and it was fine. I HATE doing that, but no damage at all BUT...it looks like some dust worked it's way under the protector resting in the top middle, so must've jolted it enough for some dust to slip in. I dunno...
It's not the end of the world but goddamn, first world problems or not the whole screen protector gimmick is a pain in the a##! I know I keep hearing it from people I know " get the Dome" but I'm more worried about not installing it JUST so than the bread.
One other option I'm considering is a wrist strap. On some of the Ringke cases there is a hole pre made on the case, I guess if I kept using the Rebel I'd have to thread the lanyard deal through the SPen opening on that top lip area. I don't know...

I don't use screen protectors myself,but,if I were in the same situation & the end result was merely a damaged screen protector,I'd consider myself fortunate & chalk one up in the win column.
Should my daily usage dictate that rollin' with one would be a wise decision,I'd definitely consider it.
The screen protector did its job,it saved your display & saved you from a costly repair.
If you were otherwise pleased w/the screen protector,I'd just get another,the price is certainly much less than a display replacement. (Perhaps pair it up w/a case-friendly Otterbox)
The only other option I'd look for is a screen protector that has some sort of free replacement,provided you're not on the hook for any fees (shipping/etc..).
