Unfortunately , the update didn't roll out for my phone ,and I don't think I will really get it since oppo doesn't seem to want anyone to root the f series
Can I download the OTA for the realme 1 and flash it on my phone ?
Or will I brick it ?
I wish someone would give me insights as I really want to unlock my oppo f7

Is it possible to make custom recovery without kernel source, after the bootloader unlock?

Yes it is possible. Kernel sources are needed to make a stable custom rom. But custom recoveries like TWRP can be made if bootloader is unlocked. You can go as far as rooting your phone and maybe install GSI roms. But those roms may not be stable.

I guess we do need to device source code to compile the TWRP. My bad I forgot. We need the source code so we can go somewhere otherwise just an unlocked bootloader is useless.

Reply in this thread, if you wish to test my kernel beta builds, don't PM me please, I already receive a lot of daily PMs.

@superdragonpt I have some doubts here but before I post them here I just want to clarify that I'm in no way questioning your work...
So here's my doubt
As we know that Xperia C's bootloader is locked and cannot be unlocked. So from where does a custom kernel come in? You can't flash a kernel unless and until the bootloader is unlocked. How would people flash your kernel...? I hope you're getting what I'm trying to ask...

From what I gather some xperia C units came with an unlock bootloader, meaning we can flash an boot.IMG.
There's more info about this on this sub forum.

No offence dude, but that is one of the most retarded question I've read yet.
Why do you have a petition-signature regarding unlocking bootloader if you dont know if its unlocked or not :silly:
Very few people take the time to go through the forum and its threads and ACTUALLY read the information. And they go spamming basic questions instead of clicking a few clicks and getting the relevant information themselves.
Regarding your question-----
dial *#*#7378423#*#*
check the service info, then configuraion,
Check the rooting status

Talking about custom ROMs and recoveries for all versions

I know that the Q6 has been in the market for the last 4-5 months which means that there's nothing custom or modified for this phone YET.
I just wanted to know if the devs or anybody that works with LOS or RR (LineageOS and ResurectionRemix) know anything about this device and if they want to create or if they're working on custom ROMs and kernels for this device.
Also, I would like to know how can I join the custom ROM community so that I can help developing on custom ROMs.
Devs not build custom rom yet because there is no unlock bootloader for this phone.

Maybe the device needs some kind of a factory custom ROM with the moddified keys so that it can get into recovery and all that sh*t. If that is possible, of courae

Nope. You have to find out that yourself.
I really don't understand the situation going on here, but I am not a developer. I like pvineeth97's work with the K10 that he did with a little help of his friends, which really helped me out in unlocking the K10. The only problem we need to find is how to make a way to unlock the bootloader so we can do anything. It must be a really small thing that you/we didn't realized

Doesn't this work? I can't test it because i don't want to unlock the bootloader unless I'm 100% sure there will be some development for this phone, but I saw the "enable OEM unlock" option in developer settings, so it may be worth a try..

If Oppo doesn't Provide the Unlocking Code or Support Fastboot Binaries, then it would only depend on some Tricks or Any Loopholes that would do the same.
Lets take the Eg. Of Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 , it has got bootloader unlocked and within a month Custom Roms have started to come up.
Now lets take the Other Eg. Motorola Droid Turbo (Int. Version of Moto Turbo which i was using in 2015) it doesnt have Unlockable bootloader , but within 1 year developers have successfully Unlocked the Phone!
And another, Droid Turbo 2 (Int. Version Of Moto X Force which im using now) it also had unlockable bootloader , and its going to be 2years but till now People are unsuccessful for getting Root/Unlocking due to the fix in Loophole.
So if Oppo is Not Providing the Unlocking Code or It doesn't Support Unlocking (as far as i know now) its not to be correct to assume it would get rooted/unlocked but can only hope for good.
Realme 1 has mediatek P60 AI chipset. Also Android 8 doesn't support AI feature but Android 9 (Android P) does. ColorOs 5 is supported and powered of AI feature like Battery, Camera, etc. Maybe Company push stock Android. But isn't bad ColorOS.

I think its never gonna happen! Its like Same, Mi rolling out Stock Android 8.0 insted of MIUI 10 or Honor rolling Stock Android 8.1 insted of EMUI!
I didnt used colorOS or any oppo phone before but MIUI,EMUI,UX5.0,Touchwizz... and i didnt keep up with them especially with MIUI and EMUI!
I keep Moto as my primary device (since 2013) due to stock android and simple interface.
ColorOS wouldn't be the deal breaker for the most but for some (like me) its making me think twice before buying

Project treble means to have separate Vendor partition , so that GSI can be boot without compiling a seperate rom with a specific vendor tree. But it dosent mean treble=unlocking

Yeah, but it's a little less difficult for the developers to unlock the phone. I think you know that starting with Android 8.x (Oreo), Google separated the Vendor and Manufacturer. That means the OS can be updated without having to touch the vendor implementation. Before project treble, The Vendors have to wait for the Unlock Code from the manufacturer which was very lengthy and delaying process, at least project treble solves this issue.

Only Manufacturers signed images can be flashed with locked bootloader , so if you are planning to boot a LOS GSI you will need a Unlocked bootloader , and by no way you can sign a image as same as manufacturer so jt will fail, as far as unlocking is concerned its in the hand of oppo only bcoz i heard that oppo deleted the fastboot binaries of the phone and to unlock the bootloader ,there must be a loophole or some think which can be exploited otherwise it would suffer the same fate as droid turbo 2. In future what happens i/we dont know but till now its correct to assume that phone is unlockable bcoz oppo is not supporting bootloader unlocking
Here, look at this,
There's an option to allow permissions for unlocking Bootloader, so i think in future maybe Oppo will allow modifications.

There was an exploit (bug) found in Oreo [Edit: Also in Pie Beta, before August] before August security patch, which allowed some people to unlock their bootloaders permanently.
So, now, those people can start developing custom ROMs and custom recoveries like TWRP for our Nokia 7 plus using the source code. :good:

This means that those people with unlocked bootloaders (though there are only a few with those) can now start making or use TWRP and Custom ROMs.
This was not possible without the source code, so this is a thing to be mildly happy about, as still, most of us can't unlock our bootloaders yet.

As my fellow developers already must be knowing that Realme has stopped providing future OS updates leaving us on ColorOS 6 platform. They didn't even provide us RealmeOS.
I would be very greatful to you if provide a clean ROM such as Pixel Experience for this device as there are none in the market right now. Please do it as I can't afford another device till I graduate and find a job.

You won't get any ROM development, since realme did provide the source code and bootloader unlock method for creating the rom or rooting it. So don't expect any ROM development unless source code are released.
Query
So how come Realme 3 pro and 5 pro have got Pixel Experience Rom? Realme released the source code of those ROMs?

I don't think twrp will let you install oppo A5 rom in realme 2 as both Device are different. It would give you error 7 or something. If it you are able to flash also you are going to encounter so many bugs, like camera, device crash, random reboots. If you are still willing to flash the PE, take a backup of stock ROM And go for a try. But be sure not to brick your device.
