Android Battery draining from 40% to 0% in 2 minutes - General Questions and Answers

Hi..
-I am having this issue since a week. My android is Lava Pixel V1, runs on 6.0. Am using this phone since 2+ years. Never had this problem.
-Problem - The battery drains very fast, it drains 1% each in just 5 seconds. When it reaches 0% it will shutdown. But when I turn on the phone, it shows battery % as 40+. But again same happens. It drains to 0%, turns off, then i turn it on, it shows 40+.
-I flashed my phone so many times, rooted it so many times, changed roms so many times, but never got this issue.
-After this issue started, i thought maybe its because of some applications I installed in it. So i flashed it with custom rom. Didn't installed any apps, but battery drain still happening. Flashed with another rom, same thing happened.
-If i don't use phone, the battery % is stable. Like if it has 46%, and if i don't use phone even for 1 hour, the battery % remains same.
Any solutions BESIDES REPLACEMENT OF BATTERY are greatly appreciated.
Thanks & Regards...

[Q] Battery is dying multiple times a day, need help!

Hello everybody!
My HTC Sensation is acting kind of weird the last few weeks.
It all began when i flashed CM 9 on it. It worked great, but pressing both the volume button would cause it to crash, so i flashed CM10 (kang) to it.
Now what happened at CM9 already was that it would just turn itself off at some points. During browsing, or taking a picture, Or just sitting in my pocket.
I had a almost full battery at that time(about 70%+) and it just went dead, reboot would give me 1% left. In CM10 the same problem happens. This time i took screenshots of the battery management screen, i included them in the attachments.
I wiped battery stats even tough it is a myth but could always try it. Did not fixed this.
Now the funny thing is when i reboot the device and it says it has only 25% left of charge. It reboots and BAM i have 75%, Reboot it once more and i lost 10%, rebooted again and it kind of stabilized. Now i have it on the charger and i am watching it, the LED on top stays on orange for about 2 seconds, then turns to screen for 1 second and then it turns of. then it just cycles trough the same again.
I hope i am making myself a bit clear about this and i will answer all questions i might have left out that are important.
Please help me because i cannot trust this phone anymore, it dies without warning and i have to boot it to find myself stranded with 1% left (which ironically can last for hours if the phone doesn't die).
PS. I included 3 screenshots. The first 2 are from when it died 2 times, as you can see the dips.
The last one is when i rebooted it and it gained allot of percentage.
Thanks in advanced
Skippy
Have you checked to see it if you have any wake locks? You can check with better battery stats apk. Also might be time for a new battery. You can get a good extended battery like anker for under 20 dollars,. My stock battery life was so bad, changed it to extended battery now it's really made a difference!
Hi,
I recommend you to see if you have any wakeclocks (Check via BetterBatteryStats)
You might have a bad flash. Check MD5 of ROM/Kernel
Check your running applications.
Let your newly installed ROM settle down for a few battery cycles.
But in your case, maybe a new battery?
I moved before few days from stock ROM to Bruces CM10 from 14.11. and have battery problems too. It drains to fast ROM is pretty stable, but with this battery life, I can hardly use it... Now I am on battery only for 10h 26min, display was ON for only 1h 55min and I am on 17% with battery... Something is bad

I have same probleme. I move from stock Rom to 11.11Bruce CM10 then upgraded to 14.11 but my battery life now very bad. I could reach up to 30h battery without charging with stock. In addition to that, I realized that the battery level could be significantly different from one boot to another : Phone show 41%, I reboot then it show 57%...
Need help but can't report on bruce thread.

[Q] Battery problem

Hey guys I am a long time Android enthusiast. I have one of the most popular Samsung devices which is the Samsung Galaxy fit. The problem with my Samsung Galaxy Fit is the battery. Earlier before any tweaking battery used to be normal. After I installed CM7(official build). My battery started draining randomly. At first it was ignorable but then the problem became severe. From 100% it would drop to 88% in just 2 mins use and then from 88% it wud drop to 70% in another 5 mins and the entire phone would be dead in just 3 hours at best. When I would charge the phone again the battery will also be charged randomly going from 5% to 20% and then 20% to 40% all this in just 10 mins. In no less than 20 mins would my phone be 100% charged but that's fake as the battery would drain from 100% to 0% in three hours.
Following are the solutions are tried
Changed the batter, used a brand new original battery(FAIL - DID NOT WORK)
Flashed stock Rom (FAIL - PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS)
Changed Charger (FAIL)
Recharged battery on a different phone and then inserted the battery in fit (FAIL)
If anyone has any solution please let me know. I AM ALSO WILLING TO DONATE IF PROBLEM GETS SOLVED.

Hope this will help you..
1. after flashing custom ROMS, back to recovery or CWM then wipe the battery stats.
2. calibrate the battery while device is on, i ussually use Mugen Power app (install app, choose the standard battery, charge until 100% then click calibrate, after that use the device until the phone is dead then charge until 100% again while device is off).
other Calibration apps ussually have the same steps like the steps i mentioned above, so just use one app..
3. if you still having the battery drain, maybe you should go check the hardware in some technician, coz it could be the hardware that has the problems.

[Q] one mini battery level suddenly drops to 0%

My one mini will drop to 0% when I am using apps like chrome or when I am gaming. There will be a 0% battery notification before shutting down. I also cannot turn on my phone after that. It will charge to 100% normally after that. Have tried battery calibration app and some online methods but they don't work. Weirdly, after I charge my phone to like 20% after the battery dropping to 0, it will discharge normally. It would not do that after it went above 30-50%. Before the incident, I have discharged it fully a few time after gaming. What should I do?
What ROM are you using? I had the same issue on Lollipop but never on KitKat.
Sounds like you've go the same problem as all of us here:

[Help] Battery Drain issue in One Plus One

Hello Experts,
My Battery is draining like crazy. I tried almost everything to figure out what is the issue but could not figure out. Below are the details I gathered from the things I tried.
My battery started draining almost 30 % overnight. Initially I thought it was due to the Unofficial Marshmallow Rom, I could see Wi-Fi to be cause of this drain. Hence I tried different Roms (Cyanogen Mod, PA, DarkObas, Sultan ROM, and stock Cyanogen OS ( Past 3 versions, including latest one). but the battery drain didn't stop.
So I decided to flash PA rom again, installed OpenGapps PICO (Only Google play service nothing else). I installed CPU spy and left it over night in Airplane mode. When I checked in the morning (after 7 hours) battery drain was of 25 %. This was surprising as nothing was running on my phone and only the minimum apps were installed. At this time, CPU spy showed no abnormal wake locks and was in Deep Sleep for almost 93% of the total time. The stock battery usage showed only Mobile Stand by and usage of 50 mAh.
Can you please help me figure out what is causing the battery drain.

Can't calibrate new battery

Hello.
Recently (~one+ month ago), I replaced the battery of my OnePlus.
The problem is that I can not find any way to calibrate it. I have tried the "manual method" (fully drain then charge, then fully drain again and charge again e.t.c.) many times. I even tried to use some applications (that I really do not trust them for their reliability, but...).
Today, I have found some time and reinstalled the phone's OS (I am using Ressurection Remix - latest build). Nothing changed.
Here's the problem, with some concepts as examples:
I charge the battery until it gets to 100%. I use the phone for example till it gets to 60% (the drain is NOT quick. It needs some time till I get to that point). Then, if I restart the phone two (2) times, I get again 95-99% of battery. Then again, I use the phone till it gets to, for example, 40%. I twice reboot it again. ~90±%! If I do not reboot it twice, the battery indicator will not change. Or it will just lose 1% percent (for example, if I reboot one time when the phone is at 60%, I may get 59% when the phone will power up).
I charge the phone until it gets to 100%. I let the phone drain out the whole battery (0%). I boot it up again. No, the battery is still alive and it may give me around 70-90% (I am not so sure about those numbers, but the idea is that the phone can still operate - there is enough juice for the phone to work).
Any ideas? I really do not know what else to try.
Thanks in advance.
