Hello Experts,
My Battery is draining like crazy. I tried almost everything to figure out what is the issue but could not figure out. Below are the details I gathered from the things I tried.
My battery started draining almost 30 % overnight. Initially I thought it was due to the Unofficial Marshmallow Rom, I could see Wi-Fi to be cause of this drain. Hence I tried different Roms (Cyanogen Mod, PA, DarkObas, Sultan ROM, and stock Cyanogen OS ( Past 3 versions, including latest one). but the battery drain didn't stop.
So I decided to flash PA rom again, installed OpenGapps PICO (Only Google play service nothing else). I installed CPU spy and left it over night in Airplane mode. When I checked in the morning (after 7 hours) battery drain was of 25 %. This was surprising as nothing was running on my phone and only the minimum apps were installed. At this time, CPU spy showed no abnormal wake locks and was in Deep Sleep for almost 93% of the total time. The stock battery usage showed only Mobile Stand by and usage of 50 mAh.
Can you please help me figure out what is causing the battery drain.

Hey folks,
i am using Oodie's 2.7.6 MIUI rom and the air kernel v4.4. i am experiencing a rather annoying battery drain. the phone has been running ~15h on battery and is at 63%, however I haven't done anything with it except for checking FB once.
The phone is UC and UV (100-880mhz, voltage all down at least 25mv). according to the battery monitor it seems to be "android OS". how can i figure out which process exactly keeps on draining the battery?
push notification is active for three apps (google mail, kakaotalk - sth like whatsapp, facebook).
37% in 15 hours is roughly 2-3% an hour. You're probably not going to get better battery than that since that adds up to roughly 40 hours of standby which is very good batter life. Android OS is at the top of the list because nothing else is using power (it's a relative statistic).
Most definitely. From the looks of it, you barely even used your phone.
this is exactly my question. the battery drain wasn't this bad before. Even with slight to normal use i could go around 30+ hours without recharging. now the battery is done in the same time without any usage
i had that on quite a few ICS ROMs myself... turning auto rotate off fixed it for me, maybe it does the same for you
I bought the Nexus 5 on it's release and sadly the battery life has been really bad for a few days now. The phone also restarted a few times randomly while being in standby.
This is my current battery usage (I hope it's viewable):
Yesterday:

About 1 hour of screen on time and the battery is already down to 41%, even though I didn't do anything on the phone, except watching the battery usage. I didn't even use the phone-app and it's still listed.
Today:

Screen on time: ~40 min
Cell standby & Wifi running: ~8.44 hours
Phone idle: 8.8 hours

I'm using stock Android (rooted), a factory reset didn't help.
Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks in advance
Your second day seems normal. Nothing to worry about there.
The first day battery killer was the Battery stats plus app. According to your graph it started draining after you rebooted.
On a typical day for me Android system, Android OS, and Google Services all hover between 12-6%
You can try loading a custom kernel and tweaking the CPU settings, you can load the app Greenify
I just installed CM 11 on my xperia V but then I'm experiencing this terrible super fast battery drain. It's been 3 days. The first night I installed it it drained my whole battery while I was asleep. Usually standby time is great before I installed CM 11. Maybe its because of the sony stamina extended standby mode thingy. Last night, I reckon that it's probably because of the background process and the wifi, so I reboot the phone (so that all apps are killed) and didn't turn on the wifi. It eats 7% of my battery. Dafuq???
So, I checked the battery stats and 82% of my battery is used on android system. Then, I turned off location access. Brightness is at its lowest. It was on aeroplane mode. Bluetooth is off. I underclock the device to clock only at 1 ghz and i clear all recent apps. Only the wifi is turned on. I only left it for half an hour without even touching it but my battery went down from 100% to 93%.!!! Can you imagine?? This sucks. Can anyone please help me with this issue? Imagine after an hour my battery would be at 80%. That means i can only use the phone for 5 hours!! That is without any connectivity at all with slow processor and low brightness. If I were to push it to the max it would take maybe 2 hours of usage. I uploaded the battery stats included with this thread.
Ok so i flashed Calkulins ROM v2.1 last night, along with Franco Kernel r34 onto my oneplus one; i did a full wipe, including /Data, /System, /Cache (etc) with TWRP which.
I flashed the ROM and Kernel (one after another) onto my device, wiped Dalvik cache/cache, booted it up and let it go.
Instantly i noticed that the device was lagging when doing basic things such as typing, scrolling through web pages (etc). After time with the phone and repeating these tasks throughout the day the lag and jitter went away. It does show up from time to time in other parts of the OS, but not nearly as common as it used to.
How ever now my big issue is the terrible battery drain. I haven't kept a full log of my battery usage for the day, but i did do a little testing. From 69% battery-13% i had 1h 40min SOT which is completely terrible compared to what i usually get.
this evening i did another little test where i charged the device from 10%-67% then played music from youtube, played a few games, fiddled around on it (web browsing-Google+ etc) and left the screen off for a few minutes.
Currently the phone is at 41% with 1h 15min SOT; Screen draining 27% battery, but the interesting thing is Android OS is reading 50%. It used to average from 7%-20%. The total time on my battery is at 1h 25min while CPU usage under Android OS is reading 1h 31min.... that doesnt make any sense since i wiped the battery stats only 1h 25min ago.
Anyways i really have no clue why Android OS is running so high right now causing battery drain.
Please if you have any suggestions on what may be doing this to my OS, or why i get random jitter spikes Please let me know!
Possible answer
is it possible that my phone is acting up from screwed up battery logs? but how would that run Android OS so high?
So since I installed CM 12 then to 12.1 I have an extrange battery drain that I just can't figure out what is causing it, so I checked on Gsam and it showed that around a 14% of the battery was used by Android OS, and I'm talking about idle drain. I just can't let the phone in idle without losing between 3-4% in less than 3hs... I just don't get it. Back when I had stock KitKat I could let the phone in idle a whole night without losing a single 1%, so I'm thinking it may be a L thing? Can anyone help me here?
