Power button question - Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) Questions & Answers

Hello.
Was looking into getting A7 2018 and was wondering if the side power button(also a fingerprint scanner) is physical or is it just a pressure sensitive like on iphone 8?
Thanks for help & have a nice day

It is physical. You can press it with not registered finger and lock screen will activate. If you touch it ( even without pressing) with registered finger it will switch on and unlock. There is also a shortcut of pressing button twice to activate camera.

[Q] Touch issues

Hi, i bought moto G (176.44.1)yesterday and i see there some touch issues like few seconds screen freezze, or notification bar is scrolling down when i didnt touched top part od the screen. I turned on the pointer location in developer settings and i can see that there appears a touch but it only have a vertical line (form top to bottom) and that line is always in the same posotion, usually Touch have vertical and horizontal lines. Anyone have/had this issue? Maybe there is any solution?
Edit: sometimes lines dont dissappear and it looks like i still hold my finger on the screen while im not. And i have to lock and unlock the phone to refresh the screen.

Quick Launch

On My S7 Edge if I double tapped the home button it would bring up the camera. Does S8+ have something similar???
Also How secure is Iris scanner or face scanner? Could someone just hold up a picture of your face and eyes?????
Double tap power button to quick launch camera.
Lots of stuff on the web about face unlock being faked with picture. I've not heard anything that can fake Iris scanner.

IRIS scanner uses infrared so a photo will not trick it.

Screen Lock widget for Samsung Galaxy S10+ available?

Great day ahead my friends.
I am a new Samsung Galaxy S10+ user. I didn't like to press power key everytime to lock the screen. I prefer Screen Lock either widget or app.
I found some apps in the Google play store ,some of them are not compatible with Android Pie. Those working are little bit uncomfortable for me. Once I locked the screen with those app, I can't use either Face ID or fingerprint to unlock the screen. Only PIN works after that. I was unhappy with that.
I loved this inbuilt widget from Honor 8x.
I hope you guys can help me out.
Thank you very much friends
If you use the Samsung Launcher you can double-tap on the screen to turn off the screen. Can one adjust in the settings. Under Home I believe.

Well I don't know if you have problems with power button being so high but for me it was so I mapped Bixby button to execute "screen off" command to Bixby! only problem (not for me since I'm always with 4g or wifi) is that you need net to work.

You can do that to turn it on, but not off.

Yeah, thanks for sharing that possible way to.
But, as you mentioned, it's not a perfect way
Try One hand operation + from Samsung. You can setup swipe from edges with different directions to turn screen off
you can go with softkey edge from samsung store and you have a lock screen button or go for nicelock https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/themes/nicelock-module-download-links-module-t3923844/

Amazing
It was a great help
Using the Samsung GoodLock app I just added it and a notification drop-down button as well. In GoodLock, it's called NavStar.

Tap to wake

Hi guys,
I recently got this phone and everything is great except tap to wake.
I am using the single tap to wake feature but my tap doesnt always register. Sometimes it takes 2, 3 or even 4 taps to wake the screen.
Is this a known thing (software) or is it just mine (hardware fault).
Thanks.

No it's a known thing and it's unacceptable.

I do not know why but It seems that the tap to wake function responds better when you tap close to the fingerprint sensor.

Yeah I have also found this to be the case. It works like 99% of the time when tapping closer to the finger print sensor.
