Sony Xperia XZ PREMIUM G8142 US Customized Android 9 Fingerprint? - Sony Xperia XZ Premium Questions & Answers

Hey y'all!
Would anyone know how to get the fingerprint sensor working on a Sony Xperia xz premium G8142 US Customized Android 9? I know you can by flashing a foreign firmware but would like to just flash a certain part of the foreign firmware to keep my firmware as US Customized to keep Volte and wifi calling on t-mobile.
Thank you

I have the exact same question, that's the only thing holding me back to flash the us firmware. I have seen a tutorial on Reddit on Android 8 but I want to see what do the other people does first.
I would flash the central Europe version instead but I don't know the codename I think it is CE right?

CE1 is the correct generalized firmware wanted. If someone can figure out how to enable fingerprint on the US firmware that would be fantastic. I would love VoLTE and WiFi Calling alongside Fingerprint

I was able to do it, what I did was take certain files from CE1- put them into a new folder along with Newflasher and Partition folder and flash it...…..
I'll try and find the guide for you..

Just make sure you download the same version - firmware , you can't use .16.20 for .235 firmware .. has to be the same

I did! No volte or wifi calling. Also no fingerprint.

From what I seen that guide is incorrect. What you want to do is only install the libraries that enable the sensor. I have flashed the customized US version and I'll extract those libraries from another build that enables FP and make it a flashable zip.

Lol well what they said is true keeping drm keys is no longer important Sony doesn't require us to fake them anymore. Camera and Netflix work perfect in Pie. But unfortunately you'll need root as it modifies the system even if I created a prebuilt modified system the device verifies system on boot and you can only disable that by unlocking the bootloader.

Stagefright fix - Lollipop AT&T

I made a fix for AT&T Galaxy S4 Stagefright vulnerability.
Attached the zip file for you to flash.
Below pictures of the device before and after applying the patch.
Please rate 5 stars and thank, it doesn't cost you anything.
Note: This fix is for AT&T Lollipop ROMs on or after OC3 version.
KitKat users: Please, don't even try to flash this fix!
Giving it a shot now.

Installed on OC3 rooted via flashfire and it worked great. Thanks!
Hidden - mistaken info that I posted
Applied the update from I337UCUFNJ4 [4.4.4].
It wiped and reset my phone.

I took a picture of my screen with another phone while the zip was running

Hidden - incorrect info that I posted
I did make note before I flashed that I had two different zips on my sd card. One was this stagefright fix and another was 2400258.zip which was leftover from some previous flashing. I was consious not to pick that file and I'm reasonably sure I didn't (unless maybe I got confused by the color of highlighting). After phone became reset I checked my system and it was still 4.4.4 and still rooted. (that other zip if I had flashed it should have made me 4.4.2 I think).
At any rate, no big deal for me, I'll go ahead and upgrade to Lollipop latest version (including Stagefright fix) using the Flashfire method.
I guess I'm 99% certain the op's zip caused my reset but there's always the case I may be mistaken. If others reporto they have successfully flashed from the same place I started, the likelihood I was mistaken probably goes up.
@electricpete1
If you pay close attention to the pictures you posted, you will see that what you flashed was a Multi CSC update, the file I uploaded doesn't even deal with CSC.
Open my file and you will see that only stagefright libraries are included, not a single CSC file there.
Besides, the fix is intended for Lollipop and as far as I know I337UCUFNJ4 [4.4.4] is KitKat.
KitKat users: Please, don't even try to flash this fix!
@churapa Thanks, I guess I must have flashed the wrong file.
Sorry for posting bad info on your thread. I edited my posts above to "hide" the info to clean up the thread.
Thanks for your contributions to our community.
I just finished flashing to latest Lollipop with stagefright protection (I337USUGOC4), so it worked out fine for me.
Works great, thanks

Since I'm sure you know more about this than me, would you care to comment on whether you think the patch here would work on my i337 since this one was designed for the Rogers i337M? That one includes the newer patch.

Thanks for keeping this up to date. It did not work, however, and might be my fault?
I am on OC4, using OD7 Build of GE 53 on ATT S4 i337. The first patch in OP worked and got it all fixed except 6602. Should I try with clearing cache or something? Thanks folks!
***Btw, I am flashing this with using NC1 Flasher, then after updating 6606 .zip via SS, I flash OC4 kernel again*** Is this a problem?

Hehe  The Deodexed ROM will be the Official Base for my Patch, but first i've to find the Reason for the Bugs with TWELVE. 10D was a bad Update for me. LG has changed so many things... For now, You should not flash my Patch over it. But i will Update it soon!
BTW. Reuploading the Odexed ROM! There was a naming issue... Deodexed follows directly! Some last changes...
Sorry for the probably silly question. After flashing this rom on LG-H85010c unlocked bootloader with TWRP I will keep root and TWRP, but will lose all data which can be compensated with backups ?
Did I understand this right ?
is this for 850's only or can H30 do this to? i know your patched work for 830's
To make work xposed framework and his modules, I need odexed or deodexed rom?

Typically, a rom is supposed to be odexed for smoother and faster loading of apps into memory. Each app(.apk) has a corresponding sister file(.odex). When a app is opened, called to memory, the. Odex has the information needed to start loading the app. A rom that is deodexed has only the.apk file. So when it is opened/called to memory the information to load the app is inside of the .apk and and must be pulled from it to begin loading it into memory. So at this level you would probably ask "then why are most custom roms deodexed?" People really started deodexing roms for themability. It is much much simplier to theme roms that are deodexed. It wasnt for faster speeds but for easier customization. So "themers" could build custom themes instead of have to build a whole themed rom. So now on one side you have odexed for speed, or deodexed for customizations? Well the brilliant devs in the android world came up with pretty good solutions to even out the field. In most any custom deodexed, youll see that they zipalign all the .apks in boot. While boot up time will be slightly longer, zipaligning optimizes every. Apk on every reboot which basically optimizes the information in each. Apk so when it is called to memory, the information is at the ready and quickly loaded witbout the need of a. Odex file. I kinda rambled here but wanted to answer this one as best i could because i kno many people wonder, and not a whole lot always ask. Hope this helps explain a little bit for anyone curious.

PLEASE make a Rom for 830 we need it. If at all possible could you make the 850 frame work for 830? We cannot unlock our phones until we have a separate framework that will allow us to enter our unlock codes. T-Mobile disabled that and made it to where only their app will unlock the phones. "N/A" while fetching latest release under FlashTool

Hi,
I'm currently in a little mess. I was under ExistenZ and I want to try the latest 7.1.1 Nougat. So I relock my bootloader in order to flash the .223 via Flashtool.
When I'm trying to download the firmware via XperiFirm, I click on "Chek all" and I have always "N/A" instead of see the firmware number :/
I'm under Linux Mint 18.
Any hint to bypass this problem ?
Thanks in advance

I would try reinstalling Flashtool first and see if that helps.
Why did you relock your bootloader though? I don't think this is a required step.

Well then I don't know how to fix that problem.
If you want though...
I have uploaded 6.0.1 / 7..0 and 7.1.1 Firmwares for both Xperia XZ and Xperia XZ Dual to my google drive.
If you wish to use it here is the link to the folder: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1-5Lr_Sntl5bzU2eEZCaFA3azg
I don't remember exactly from which countries the firmwares I downloaded and uploaded there are.
Most are either Dutch or Customized Germany firmwares.
Otherwise if you want a different specific firmware, you'll have to figure out a way to download it yourself

Xpericheck.com also put links to ftf of some variants, so this can e used as a substitute for not working xperifirm. The country variants doesn't differ much - mostly by the number of preloaded apps (some have facebook/spotify/avg installed as system apps) and by type of icons shown (nfc icon, lte vs. 4g icon, in NOBA you have icon indicating 2g/3g/4g even while roaming).

AOSP is independent of Sony stock stuff.
It has its own enhancement stuff.
But at the moment the camera is not stable/complete.
That'll take some time.
I don't know if the Oreo drmfix guy is working on it or any other.

Just use xperifix.
The Oreo firmware is in my TWRP download link.
It can be installed with newflasher from XDA.
Xperifix needs to be installed in vendor & a/b mode.
Choose the magisk.zip too, but not the TWRP stuff.
And switch to selinux permissive via magisk.

J9210_Customized NOBA_1320-1207_55.1.A.0.748_R2B
I guess if I flash it, it will work, right?
greetings to all

it should work if your phone have the same model as the firmware mentioned
It will work but all future updates will be received when that region's variant is released. I have the NOBA J9110 and we are usually in the second release group but for some reason we were in the first for this release.
what does noba stands for?

Thanks for the reply. Will any DRM be lost for not doing so through the OTA?
Is better with flashtool or newflasher?

It won't screw up your DRM. Use newflasher but read the prompts.

alternative method would be downloading the firmware through the xperifirm application and then creating a flashable firmware using flashtool and flashing with the flashtool application. Unless you unlock your bootloader you will loose the drm keys.
Ready. I flashed it with the Newflasher and the downloaded Firmware (Custom NOBA). It works excellent. Gestures of android 10, dark mode. I still did not test the camera. So far it works and responds very fast. Absolutely nothing was lost from DRM. Thank you all for replying.

if you've got time please check if there's any improvements in the camera.

So far, I have tried it in normal situations and then at night and I do not see any significant change, compared to the previous version. I will try to test it further.
