What do you mean by 'in system apps'?
Assuming you ready had Google app already pre Installed in system, if you manually installed the pixel launcher the. It's placed in data instead of system. Usually if you flash it, it's placed in system. If it let's you uninstall it then it would be concerned a data(user app) and not system

(i recommend disabling ur default launcher so if an error happens you have access to a different launcher(example OP^ launcher)
Yes I just tested it and it worked for me, I have root explorer as my file manager (u need root fyi)
You can use a different root file explorer app(whatever suits you,
1. just to be safe backup ur launcher in Titanium Backup.
2. go to /data/app and locate the folder come.google.nexus..... (i forget the rest of the folder name)
3. cut the folder once you locate it and move it to /system/priv-app/ and paste the folder
Make sure permissions are rwxr-xr-x(when I pasted mine I just did a reboot and it worked fine.)
4. reboot phone!

Yes because you need to unlock the bootloader for that. It will wipe everything on your phone. There's a great guide in the news & dicussion forum (pinned). Feel free to follow it.

Hello everyone,
A fellow XDA member found that KingRoot now supports Kindle Fire HD 8 and Kindle Fire HD 10 on 5.1.1 as of 02/07/16! It is very easy, go to www.kingroot.net on your device, install the latest version (ignore any security warnings) and click root! You may want to install SuperSU etc. Disable OTA.
I have to go now, just wanted to make sure everyone knew the root is out and working!
Just tried it 3 times on my Fire HD 8 running 5.1.1. Didn't work for me

PM me for extra help, make sure you get the latest version.
while your bash was useful, you may need to step back for a bit.
used kingroot which successfully rooted my kindle fire HD 8 but then when i went to switch launchers its all gone wrong.
I copied the fire.launcher file to my sdcard then went back to remove it so i could use Google Now.
I then realised the Google Now app wasn't working as it was asking me to update Google Apps. so i copied the fire.launcher back into the sys folder i found it.
Then i lost launcher and could only access apps via the recent app tab.
so i rebooted and now it loads with no launcher.
I cannot do anything now.
ive tried rootjunkys unbrick method and it doesnt work for me.
Anyone got any suggestions
Do you have adb installed and working? We can try a few commands, you need to install Google apps in order to get now launcher to work. Your tablet is fine we just need to get adb shell command working. Use rootjunkys script for install play store.
My message didn't get posted. Odd. If you need help don't be afraid to message us.
Edit:
If adb is installed.
Open command prompt. Type "adb shell". Then type "su".
It should say [email protected]
Now type this in.
Code:
pm install -r com.amazon.firelauncher
If it says install success, type "exit", then type "exit" again to get out of adb shell.
Now reboot your device.
If it fails let me know.
If you don't have adb installed, youtube how to install adb shell.
I have rootjunkys script on tip, Tricks, and the Root post.

Ive manage to get ES file explorer installed and when i go to the com.fire.launcher folder its empty.

sorted it.
Copied the fire launcher apk into the download folder while connected to my laptop. found it in ES file explorer and installed it.
now all working i guess in the process of trying to add a new launcher it must have copied the folder back but not the content.
phew!!! thanks for your help

there is no other known way to root

No king root is fine. I just managed to balls up replacing the launcher. I had google now launcher installed but I didn't have Google apps installed correctly. Since fixing my issue I have now successfully replaced fire launcher with Google Now launcher. Which is better but it still needs a better OS. Finding the fire OS very laggy and I can't install the latest versions of some apps. Using kingroot with purify has helped performance in my opinion.

I install another launcher first, remove stock launcher, then install Now launcher

Afterwards, I installed the Google launcher and the Google app, uninstalled the nova launcher, reboot.. Now my kindle is stuck in "fire" logo and refuse to start. I cleared the cash partition also didn't work.. Any advice?

Hi just wanted to ask everyone with a Mate 9 if it is possible to delete System apps. I have tried everything and no luck so far. Was always able to delete them on previous phones. Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks

Some pre installed applications can be uninstalled but system applications need root.
Thanks but I already have root and unlocked bootloader but still cannot delete System apps. Is this because the system is encrypted?

I am interested as well.
And do changes to the system partition survive a reboot? I read about a guy here at xda loosing the modification of his platform.xml after a restart.
Would it be possible to delete System apps by using adb commands on a PC?

No. System is not encrypted.
It is because system (cust, vendor, ...) is protected by Android security (dm-verity).
Try Device Control root from the play store. That's what I used to delete some system apps.

You may want to try system app remover on the play store. It worked for me on my Honor 8 running EMUI 4.1 and 5.0
Have tried at least 4 of these system app remover apps and all say uninstall successful but the apps are still there. Don't think we can uninstall system apps due to dm-verity protection of the system partition. Will have to wait for a developer to look into this

You need root access to remove stock apps. If you have a rooted device try Lucky Patcher apk. I think it will help you.
Yes, you can remove system apps using the Terminal Debloater in the downloads section of Magisk Manager.
Why not just disable them?
Hope this helps
On your home screen in an empty spot hold down untill you see widgets and wallpaper ect. Then hit settings and it should be the 3rd from the bottom. Hope this helps.

Just remember to do a TWRP backup first. I uninstalled Chrome and many other apps would not work.

1. This first step was originally found by @deathdefiler and thought it might help people so I've presented a neat manual to get started spoofing.
You need to root your phone
dont matter if you use a autoroot oneclickroot or what ever you prefer
Because we will be deleting (or NOT as mentioned in step 2) root later.
Just make sure SuperSu(optional for cm/lineage users) and busybox is installed
after your phone is rooted and
busybox: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox
are installed
go to playstore and download this exactly
(GPS Joystick Fake GPS Location)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.theappninjas.gpsjoystick
by dev. The app ninjas
as while youre in playstore also download (/system/app mover Root) by dev. j4velin
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.systemappmover
now openup /system/app mover and search for fake gps joystick
tap it and choose yes or ok to move it to /system/app
At this point you should reboot your phone( MUST DO )!
Once your phone is rebooted you can unroot your phone
Even if you unroot Gps joystick will remain in /system/app
Now go into your phone location settings
Set location modus to Device only
I also set google location service off otherwise it will go back to high accuracy mode.
Now we can open Fake gps joystick and go to settings from menu in the top left corner
Make sure that these following options are on
". Enable System Mode
Disable Location Service
Enable A-GPS reset. "
Now Restart your device for changes to take effect
thats it now we can start fake gps choose location of your liking
open pokenmon go and start playing (make sure loction is on device only mode)
If you want your location to work back normal
for example playing pokemon go normal or use googlemaps
then open fake gps settings and make sure Disable location service is set to off
Reboot your device and your good to go
Note by @reis1996 : In settings menu change "Background Handler" to another value from default to remove the time lag between spoofs. It varies for different devices

2. The next step is to temporarily disabled root but still have root access
*****NOUGAT USERS DON'T FLASH ANYTHING*****
Pokemon checks for root status and SELinux status
iSU is an app made @bhb27
Head over to the iSU thread and flash (for 6.0.1 and below as nougat just needs the app installed)
a)iSU kernal file. permissive if your selinux is already permissive / enforcing if your selinux is enforcing
You can check your seLinux status of your phone in settings>about phone.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...le-app-to-deactivate-activate-t3478348/page56
b)use the iSU app
To change your build.prop file of your phone
This makes the phone think its not rooted
In the prop editor in the app, set all values to green/safe.
Next set root deactivated and seLinux to enforcing.
The app has an inbuilt safety net checker to see if you pass safety net.
Note that you should toggle root and selinux status to pass safety net via the iSU app only.
as soon as i move gps fake location app to system it disappears, and i have no means to open it up. i did cf autoroot.

Did you restart the phone after making the GPS a system app. RESTART IS A MUST AFTER MAKING ANY APP SYSTEM APP
OK a little more information would be nice. What ROM are you running? Android version? Stock?
My advice for now would be to use a system APP uninstaller and remove the app. Then use another app ( various apps are present in play store) to make the GPS app a system app. Then unroot

Hey everyone. Sorry for the noob questions.
I just got a 2017 hd 10. Haven't booted it yet. Would like to root, install gapps, and have Nova as default. My hope is to use it like a normal Android tablet.
Should I root before updating? Can I update after the root? Would the update even matter if I'm using Nova?
Thanks!

What version FireOS? You can only root from PC, so no need to worry about updates until you turn on wifi. When ready change the name of /system/priv-app/DevicSoftwareOTA/DeviceSoftwareOTA.apk by putting a _ at the end of it so it's .apk_
If you flash gapps, you may need to uninstall a few Amazon apps. Set up FlashFire accordingly and download pico gapps 5.1.1 and flash it. Debloat from there. Use rooted activity launcher to explore Amazon apps. Before registering to Google, use it to launch Amazon device settings, prod and devo mode. Put the device in devo mode. This may assist in debloating and when you get enough space, flash nano gapps. Don't uninstall what you don't know. Install my Framework and FireTabletSettings APKs for an even better experience. Thanks. My version is 5.6.01.
Ok, I am now rooted with Nova installed as a system app.
Also, noob question. How do you enable Reboot from the power menu? I only see shut down.

you cant, you gotta download one of those "reboot" apps
also, i did exactly what you did (took it out the box and wiped almost all the amazon crop off it lol) and it worked awesomely. the only thing i found was to set your lockscreen image you need to use the amazon photos app (it will change both your lockscreen and homepage wallpapers), and then you can use the app of your choosing to change your homescreen wallpaper

The DocumentsUI module controls access to specific files for components that handle document permissions such as attaching a file to an email. This module is updatable, meaning it can receive updates to functionality outside of the normal Android release cycle.
