Pixel 3 Screen issue - Google Pixel 3 Questions & Answers

Hello guys, I have the pixel 3 since 3 days now and I noticed a day later that my screen isn't showing off the same colors from the top to the bottom. On top it's more vibrant and more warmish but on the bottom at the half of the screen it's turning in some red and it's persistent on every brightness. The best I can show it to you when I turn nightlight on and turn the brightness down to maybe 10-20% then u see it clearly. Did anyone else noticed it? Or is it just on me? thanks in advance

Hi - did you check to see if the app is perhaps transparent and reflecting your wallpaper? What app are we looking at in your example? Do you experience the same look in Chrome?

[Q] Brightness Changes with Displayed Color -- Is it normal?

Hi, I am new to XDA, and this is my first post.
About a month ago, I grabbed my One XL in Hong Kong. Loved the phone very much but in the past several days, I noticed that the screen brightness seems to change with the background color. When the background changes from "mostly black/dark color" to "mostly white/light color", like when switching from appdrawer with black background to light-colored homescreen (ex., the "serene" desktop), the screen backlight will gradually (within about 1 sec. ) turn brighter. This is quite obvious if I lower the brightness level (I set it to about 10%), and at 50% the issue is barely noticeable. This looks like a battery saving method, but I'm not sure. I would like to ask if this is normal, or is there by any chance a way to turn this off? Because it is indeed very annoying to me. Currently using ViperXL 1.2.0 rom and Beast kernel. Thanks for your help!
P.S. The auto brightness is always turned off.

Grey display overlay

Hey guys,
I am totally happy with my N5, but sometimes in horizontal mode 2/3 of the screen has a dark overlay. Happens most of the time while watching YouTube or photos..
I managed to make a Screenshot. Any ideas on how to fix it?
Thx

Screen problem ? Need help

Hello. I would like to share my problem with you. I own a galaxy s8 +, like many of you)
And I was faced with this fact. When I put a dark or black background on the main screen of my smartphone, I get a visible light at the top of the screen. It can be seen clearly in a dark room. Below I will attach a screenshot. But that's the thing, this light is only visible on the main home screen. In the screen verification app, on a black background, I do not observe this problem.
I want to say that the light at the top of the screen is only observed on the main screen of the phone. When viewing images or elsewhere this is not observed
What can be wrong ??

grey lines at top of the screen with pure black wallpaper

So recently i started to notice that in my home screen (touchwiz or other launchers) at the top of the screen there is some grey lines it is best visible if i use a black wallpaper and set the brightness to the maximum. This doesn't show anywhere except on the home screen. I tried other wallpapers, and if i look at it in the gallery or turn on ultra power saving mode there is no grey lines.(my device is galaxy s6)
Does anyone know what it is? Or how to fix it?
(i hope you guys can understand me sry for my english)
So, if you switch to your pictures and images gallery, the lines disappear?
Did you drop your device on the floor or did it incurred any damages lately?

It's a common issue. It's stupid Touchwiz/Samsung system which creates a small overlay at the top of Homescreens (any launchers) & lockscreens. In gallery etc, it's perfectly black since no overlay.
I don't think there is a fix. U can use a slightly greyish instead of full black wallpaper. It's not a big problem though
Oh i understand. Thank you for help. I was thought my phone has a problem.
Sometimes the grey lines can appear in Samsung mobiles if you use a bad launcher or a theme which is not compatible with the phone. You can try updating to a new version and see if fixes the problem, or use a light gray wallpaper as already suggested. Another couple of things to try... take a screenshot of your phone and test it on your laptop to see if the lines are still there. If not then it could be a problem with the screen itself. It's also worth restarting your phone in Safe Mode as this mode only runs with pre-installed apps. If you don't see the lines then an app could be your culprit

How Does Amoled Screen Burn In Work?

I asked the same question on r/oneplus.
So I've bought a OP 7 Pro just 1 month ago and I'm really paranoid about burn in.
I searched a lot about amoled technology and from what i read i assumed screen burn in it's not something recoverable. And I took all the security measures to not make it happen. Auto-brightness, screen timeout to 30s, AOD turned off, and i never leave a static image on my phone.
Today I noticed that when i plugged my phone and the colors screensaver started, the fingerprint icon left a visible mark like it was burned in. But it lasted only a couple seconds and then it disappeared. Same thing happens with the signal icon on the status bar.
So, is that screen burn in? Or it's just image retention? And why is it recovering? Should I worry about it becoming permanent? I'm not even enjoying the phone anymore :c
Sorry for my english and thank you
Not that big of a deal. Especially with screen technology these days. Walk into your local carrier store, or Best Buy, look at an old phone that has an amoled screen and that's left on all the time for display. That's burn in. When the image stays there after a long period of time and doesn't disappear when the screen is turned off and on. When I had my S8 and S9, it was noticeable that the clock and always-on home button shifted all of the time. With screen technology the way it is now, a lot of OEM skins have some sort of burn-in protection in place. I've left the screen on my 7 Pro on for hours on end, alas at the lowest brightness, with the screen timeout set to never and I've never had an issue.
I'm paranoid about burn-in too. I use navigation gestures and systemui tuner app to hide status bar. I use battery widget reborn to see battery percentage and other notifications can be seen in notifications pull down shade. Use auto brightness to change brightness more frequently. I use amoled antiburn app to check for any burn-in. All clear so far.
Since launch, Not much chatter concerning this as an issue... Enjoy your device
I have Google maps burned in..? I hate it because you can see see on a white background alot.
