I have a Sprint S7 Edge that I have purposely not updated much so I can root when I have free time. I now have some free time..
I am on
Software version G935PVPS4BQC1.
Hardware version Rev0.7
Model Number SM-G935P
I have done searches for how to root this thing, but seem to be getting more confused.
Thanks
Bob

I pulled the trigger on a Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2. $849 unlocked. I wanted a option for LTE if I needed it. Thought the Snapdragon 800 might offer better performance/seems that is a unknown... Also heard faster charging. I saw a comment in another thread the Verizon locks boot loaders. Does anyone know if I will be able to root this device? How can i determine if the bootloader is locked?

Looking for this too, I tried using the Chainfire autoroot for the P905 but it seems it doesn't work for our model, the P905V.
No it will not work. I think this may be tough with a locked bootloader. Chainfire supports CF Autoroot but I believe he is away for the next few weeks. Not sure if he will be able to get it working on the Verizon LTE version but right now, there is no way to root that.
Also, as far as performance, there is really no difference from what I have read. If anything, the 905 *may* be slower due to LTE. What I can say is that the Snapdragon processor will charge faster than the Exynos in the P900.
If you REALLY need root, return the 905V and get a 900. I just tether mine to my HTC one when away from home or a hot spot. You'll also save more than 100 bucks. Verizon is making it very difficult to root with their locked bootloaders and I don't expect these will be in high demand so support from the Dev's may be slim.
Just my .02
I think we will be seeing TWRP support for the P900 in the next day or so. That should help open the door to custom rom's but I expect they are still a month or more away at this point.
I pulled the trigger on the 12.2 too, deciding on keeping it. Also ended up getting a 10.1 2014 for the SO....but mine is 12.2.But Verizon is just icky, lol, then the locked bootloaders, lack of support, then throw in lack of support from the devs due to very few devices etc...
I hope this can be rooted.

I'm currently testing the Verizon and the WIFI only models. The Verizon version is definitely smoother, especially when it comes to speed of opening web pages and browsing ( with both on WIFI). The Qualcomm processor in the Verizon version is definitely putting the Exynos processor in the WIFI only version to shame.
Unfortunately, if the Verizon version cannot be rooted I just may have to return it and get the more expensive unlocked international LTE version, just for the superior Qualcomm processor.
Is it 100% positive that verizon p905v cant be rooted? The recharging time and smoothness as well as battery life has made me an extremely happy camper for the LTE model. Somebody said chain fire was on holiday for month or so. I'm wondering what we can do to have information for him or anyone else to try and root.
Sent from my SM-P905V using xda app-developers app
Edit my mistake i didn't see the Verizon at the beginning

Chainfire seems to have returned as shown by his recent posts in the central CF-Autoroot thread. Could you go post there again for us? I would but my post count is still low
Unlonking Bootloader - SM-P905V Verizon no contract

How to rooting this tablet version verizon?? >> SM-P905V. I need change firmware for other country (Brazil), but Odin have a problem with block mode verizon. I bought in amazon site, no contract verizon. LTE is ok in Brazil ... I want OEM firmware in my tablet, not verizon firmware! someone could help me where to get an unlock for SM-P905v?
30 Days
Don't they have to release the firmware within 30 days? Perhaps we need to take this up with Samsung?
Hi guys. I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge G935F. However, despite having the latest update on my phone, Samsung Pay is nowhere to be found. Do you think a firmware re installation would help? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! Also, as a sidenote, I have not made any modifications to the device, as the void counter still states 0.
I also think its worth noting that I previously had a rooted S6. Would this prevent me from using Samsung Pay on my S7?

I read that the latest update on the "F" firmware removed the Samsung Pay App from the phone. The person that reported it, speculated that it might be because Samsung is about to activate Samsung Pay in European countries and they removed it until the finalized app would be available. Again, that was just speculation. But it does appear that the app was purposefully removed by Samsung for some reason.

Yes. It's only available if you meet all Samsung Pay criteria. Check their website. It has to be model AND carrier specific.
It's not on mine either. And where I live, they don't have chip & PIN protection as well (yes the cards have the chip won't ask for my PIN). So not a huge loss.

Ok thanks. My model is the G935F and my SIM is a T-Mobile one. So they probably removed it.
I checked on this with Samsung. They don't have any idea if it will reach international unlocked versions. As of now is only avail in US and carrier locked phones.
Ah got it not sure how I missed that. Much appreciated.
Yes just a small reminder ... the Galaxy S6\S6 Edge\S6 Edge+ international edition are all still waiting to get Samsung Pay... I just bought the G935F.. I really hope\wish we get S Pay soon
A while back I used a sprint rom for my Galaxy S7 to root my device. It didn't really work out in the end and the device would have issues every so often. Currently I have my phone reset to stock, is there a root firmware that I could use that is for a G930R4 model?
I am also a US Cellular customer and S7 user... I would love to know if there is a root that is specific for the US Cellular version of the S7.

I was messing around on videos and I found this video here, it seems to have been working on my phone so far, give it a try. It also has not tripped Knox yet either.
First Has anyone heard of this model SM-G920T1? I have been having a hard time finding proper firmware for this device. I have an octoplus box that I would like to use, but same issue there it recognizes the device but clearly states that I have a SM-G920T1 and not the SM-G920T So that got me thinking.
Are they the same? If not can someone explain or send me in the right direction. Much appreciated.
I just received my new phone today as my secondary rooted phone, although I now feel like I bought the one wrong model out of the bunch.
For the life of me I cant find any way to root this phone online, I am hoping someone can tell me if its possible. I dont care if I trip knox or its a paid program i have to get to run, I just want to make it happen. so any and all help would be appreciated.
I am truly sorry if there is a current thread that answers this, but so far everything I have found is pretty old.
On a similar boat and it seems that Nougat cannot be rooted. You can downgrade to 5.1.1 and then root but that seems not worth it as you are giving up features that are available only in Nougat. I myself might just switch to a tmobile S6 motherboard. I have the Verizon S6 variant but I'm on T-Mobile.
I can really care less about the services lost in the downgrade. If you know how i can downgrade to 5.1.1 to then mod, I'd still love to do it. I already have a S9+, S8 for back up and an apple s6. I really want to mod this Verizon, or it will have no use

I'm fine with downgrading as long as that means I can root my phone, is there any kind of tutorial for downgrading?
