[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][Pie 9.0] SyberiaOS for Lithium - Xiaomi Mi MIX ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other

I managed to compile SyberiaOS for the Mi Mix, I modified the Mi5 (gemini) device tree to suit the Mi Mix (lithium) and mostly everything seems to work as it should.
Current known issues: You tell me
Requires global firmware 8.8.30 or higher
Recommended TWRP here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/lv7sncx1np9d41u/twrp-3.2.1-raupe-blunden-15.1-updated.img

https://github.com/Inkypen79/platform_device_xiaomi_lithium
https://github.com/Inkypen79/platform_kernel_xiaomi_msm8996
I've flashed opengapps nano and stock which both work fine. Magisk 18.0 works fine too.
Find out more about Syberia at the original dev thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/development/rom-syberia-project-t3833868
FAQ
Q: My sensors are not working! (Auto rotate, compass, etc)
A: Flash LineageOS and allow it to boot. Make sure sensors are working, then reboot into recovery. Wipe caches, /system and /data but DO NOT wipe /vendor. Flash Syberia, everything should work. Fixed in latest builds
Q: I have choppy audio/video in apps like Youtube and Spotify!
A: Upgrade your firmware, check this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-mix/development/miui-10-8-5-31-t3799952
Minimum required is 8.8.30 (not 8.8.3 which is earlier)
Q: Vibration is not working!
A: Go to Settings - System - Device Features - Vibrator Strength and set to your preference

Guess some wait for your feedbacks and fancy screenshots mate.

нашёлся один досаднейший баг! Музыка не играет через проводные наушники! Вставляю наушники, включаю музыку, а она через динамики рубит. Вот это да, все было бы хорошо, но это курьёз просто.

Hey @Inkypen thanks for your efforts. Do we have the substratum support or? Tried one which was working on LoS 16 but can't get it worked on this.

Thanks @Inkypen. Can't wait to try the ROM. Just a question: does it support encrypted device?

Can anyone confirm that quick charge work on this firmware?

My phone is not encrypted so haven't tested it, but Syberia uses source direct from CAF instead of lifting code from LineageOS so hopefully it works.
The charge display on the lock screen shows 2230mah when using the Xiaomi power adapter so I guess fast charge is ok lol

The source code indicates that it is Substratum certified, if it's not working currently I'm sure the Syberia devs will fix it soon

It's just that there's no vibration under any circumstances, is that the only problem I've had?

I'm sure I turned on all the vibration options, but including fingerprint unlock and gboard as well as notifications, as if the phone didn't have a way to vibrate.
I was using MIUI10 8.11.1 before I flashed into this ROM, and I'm not sure it was caused by this.
I love this ROM except that it doesn't vibrate properly. It looks as if only my mix can't vibrate properly ...:crying:

You need to increase vibration percent from 1% to whatever you want. It's available in Syberia custom settings.

Set vibration in System/device features , the default vibration is only 3%!!
You can set it at 60% or more if you like.

The 3Gb could cause Problems with the Light Kernel Option. If You decide to disable it in AROMA everything should run fine. V1.2 of the Patch will not longer have this Option so is this only a Problem on the actual Version. (Light Kernel = Disabled = All good on 3Gb). Hope You'll enjoy it!

I think that you will have a issues with this patch. Check post - for Android 7.1.X like Mokee - that means AOSP-based ROM. MIUI is heavily customised AOSP. That means that you can have serious issues on your phone.

Project Treble Support to mido!

Developer Abhishek987 brought full project treble support to Redmi Note 4 (mido), by converting cust partition to vendor partition, and moving HALs from system to there.
Being in similar rom resolution, other mid range devices may support project treble in future too. I'd like to tag recognized developers @brigudav, @karevn, @Razziell, @psykkuno, @unterwelt to look into it.
Original xda feature thread is here- https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-redmi-note-4-project-treble/
It's available for Mi 5s now.

I face ccouple of problems with that rom.
USB connection keep disconnecting when plugged to the PC/Laptop. (Kernel treat it as AC Charger, so it draws more power from PC/Laptop)
Even though headset attached, sounds will play from speakers.
Official Magisk build not works with that rom. (This work though Link)

Even for the beta team this ROM has bricked one device, so, do it on your risk.

It’s probably a programming item in MIUI 10... plus the fact that no themes made for 10 with notifications exist yet (or are very limited). My notifications light works so not a big deal. We’ll see what the next release gives us... I would assume they will try to drop a new beta weekly or bi-weekly. Haven’t been following how fast the China releases came out. Did anyone also notice or maybe it’s me... notification shade doesn’t change either with theme?

Best treble rom for xiaomi mix2s

Hello,
I notice that there isnt a lot of roms for this phone and maybe this is because this mobile acept treble roms.
Maybe it will be interesting to list the best treble roms in a post.
anyone are playing with the treble roms??
I think this isn't right place to ask that, but for me best is Resurrection Remix with gestures like MIUI, then AOSP, Pixel Experience and Dot OS, better if you ask in general thread.
I think pixel ROM is the best one, but MOKEE has published tonight.
I will try.
Is there any major but on RR guys?

And someone can tell us the procedure to install a treble rom in our mix2s?

Mokee has problems with encryption from the system.
Sometimes it works and sometimes all apps stop when they start.
I had to run format data in twrp several times.
To the users of treble ROMs on Mi Mix 2S, are there any noticeable hardware features that are not enabled in the GSI ROMs? I know most of the treble ROMs are GSI and it does not support all the hardware features that may be specific to Mi Mix 2S.
The only one I know of so far is the camera is not fully utlised, as GCam can only use of the cameras.

For me there are no such problems. Phone was encrypted from the beginning, from the first time I did the phone setup. But to me it does not really matter, as selinux is permissive, which is far worse IMO

I agree Mokee should have an actual thread, but since it doesn't I wan't to contribute this to the community.
Mokee Nightlies do work, but you'll get a Google crash (in Chinese) right off the bat stopping you from continuing through setup. Go back to TWRP and choose Format Data under Wipe. That will fix this issue.
Next you won't be able to turn on WiFi. Turn off Bluetooth (not sure if this is required), reboot and WiFi will be usuable. You can now turn Bluetooth back on.
The only issue I can see at the moment is SELinux is NOT enforcing. I tried to flip it with the Magisk module but that prevented it from fully booting. There maybe many more issues but I've only had it going for 10 minutes.

Help me get developers to build some custom Roms for Doha!!

Come on, this device is awesome. Even though it supports project treble I haven't found any that were stable enough to make It thru a whole day without bugs glitches etc. Any thoughts on how to get some developers to support this phone?
