Come on, this device is awesome. Even though it supports project treble I haven't found any that were stable enough to make It thru a whole day without bugs glitches etc. Any thoughts on how to get some developers to support this phone?
It is a very good question to put on the agenda ...
I didn't adapt well to GSI (I didn't find one that actually worked on mine, actually)
I'm waiting too, at least one LOS for our G8Plus ...

Bluetooth does not work with the latest havoc GSI but the fingerprint lock does!
I found this googling around. Perhaps you could try to change these settings in order to get bluetooth working?
Setting==> Developer options ==> Bluethooth audio codec (change to AAC)
Developer Options ==> Bluetooth AVRCP ==> 1.6

What's special about this ROM?

Holy, thx but no, I am not a proper developer to build 8.0, I can compile Android and fix errors, but I lack the fundamental skills in order to debug and fix problems. I am trying to learn how to fix broken functions, but it's going to be a long time till I will be able to be sufficient in Android development. I believe that for now, other devs such as Rashed should continue to support the devices, and I appreciate their hard work to bring Oreo to Android. As a matter of fact, all credit should go to these devs, not me. Also, I have one build that is half compiled, may fix wifi, but idk. Also link has been fixed (must have not fixed it properly)
Any chance to port this to RS988?
One day... Shortly after i am finished learning a new language i will be teaching myself rom building and will help... Provided i am still alive.....

I didn't tested a lot! I know that wlan, phone calls and Livedisplay is working.
Snap is crashing, but have not tested other cams...
I just have installed it to check out 8.1 and see what's different. Unfortunately I need my h850 for work, so I switched back to stable.
Will test more this week.

Developer Abhishek987 brought full project treble support to Redmi Note 4 (mido), by converting cust partition to vendor partition, and moving HALs from system to there.
Being in similar rom resolution, other mid range devices may support project treble in future too. I'd like to tag recognized developers @brigudav, @karevn, @Razziell, @psykkuno, @unterwelt to look into it.

I face ccouple of problems with that rom.
USB connection keep disconnecting when plugged to the PC/Laptop. (Kernel treat it as AC Charger, so it draws more power from PC/Laptop)
Even though headset attached, sounds will play from speakers.

Flash xiaomi eu mi mix 2s twrp through fastboot(https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850507462), wipe and flash the system image to system.
You can just flash the system image through fastboot, but custom recovery is just more convenient.

Hello,
I notice that there isnt a lot of roms for this phone and maybe this is because this mobile acept treble roms.
Maybe it will be interesting to list the best treble roms in a post.
anyone are playing with the treble roms??
I think this isn't right place to ask that, but for me best is Resurrection Remix with gestures like MIUI, then AOSP, Pixel Experience and Dot OS, better if you ask in general thread.
I think pixel ROM is the best one, but MOKEE has published tonight.
I will try.

The RR rom seams very interesting. Someone have this rom? any bug?
And someone can tell us the procedure to install a treble rom in our mix2s?

I'm using RR Treble ROM and everything works well with the exception of Bluetooth audio. I have to used a wired headset if I want to listen to media through the phone.

Mokee has problems with encryption from the system.
Sometimes it works and sometimes all apps stop when they start.
I had to run format data in twrp several times.
To the users of treble ROMs on Mi Mix 2S, are there any noticeable hardware features that are not enabled in the GSI ROMs? I know most of the treble ROMs are GSI and it does not support all the hardware features that may be specific to Mi Mix 2S.
The only one I know of so far is the camera is not fully utlised, as GCam can only use of the cameras.

For me there are no such problems. Phone was encrypted from the beginning, from the first time I did the phone setup. But to me it does not really matter, as selinux is permissive, which is far worse IMO

I agree Mokee should have an actual thread, but since it doesn't I wan't to contribute this to the community.
Mokee Nightlies do work, but you'll get a Google crash (in Chinese) right off the bat stopping you from continuing through setup. Go back to TWRP and choose Format Data under Wipe. That will fix this issue.
Next you won't be able to turn on WiFi. Turn off Bluetooth (not sure if this is required), reboot and WiFi will be usuable. You can now turn Bluetooth back on.
The only issue I can see at the moment is SELinux is NOT enforcing. I tried to flip it with the Magisk module but that prevented it from fully booting. There maybe many more issues but I've only had it going for 10 minutes.

No, I'm not using it. I've no intentions in using any custom rom, because I really like the clean Android One.
You can use any fingerprint, it's only to trick safetynet.

I don't use either of these features so I wouldn't be able to tell you. But I think there's a VoLTE-enable version of HavocOS in the GSI subforums. Have not tried it however.
I need to check something with everyone:
Has someone else had a bug where they can't install anything into the system partition due to lack of space? I wanted to use Google Assistant but to have full features I need to make it a system app, faster way would be to flash nano-gapps but when I do it tells me I'm out of space in /system/. Is it just me?
Also, edited faq with How-To check SELinux status.
