So my friend has a J700H and hes asking for help.
His phone's OEM unlock is not enabled.
Is there anyway to unlock the phone without losing data. Theres a twrp method to unlock it but I guess oem unlock should be enabled to flash twrp right?

in settings/Phoneinfo,press 7 time on Build Number to enable the Developers Option.
Go back an go into Developers Option and unlock FRP:

i've been struggling to come across a more in depth tutorial. (I'm a n00b apparently) - My device is the exact same as yours, W8 on Android 7.0. Did you figure it out?

i had no OEM unlock option in my Developer thingy but installed TWRP without any problem just activated USB debugging
Hello i have this phone (SM-G920W8) and i want to flash a custom rom but without unlocking the bootloader im just afraid to do it plus my home button dosent work so i dont know how to do it without forceing the odin mode

Flashing a ROM without unlocking your phone's bootloader is just not possible
Guys help needed ASAP. A friend of mine did suicide a week ago because of some girl. We have his phone but it is locked and it was switched off when his parents found him in his room so we could not open it with his fingerprint, as it says pin is required after reboot to unlock. Now they've given me the phone to unlock it and I don't know how to do it, because adb is not enabled as well as I can't flash twrp because of locked bootloader. I cannot unlock bootloader because OEM unlocking is not enabled maybe. So what can I do? is there any way to it or I need go to service center? Will they unlock it without erasing any of the data, not even messages or contacts.

it is so sad that in order for you to root the device you have to unlock MI UNLOCK STATUS. in order for you to unlock it you have to wipe all data. Is there any other way to root the phone without wiping data? anyone have other method to share? thank you

I don't care if wipe all data or everything, I bought it not long ago but just found out how ridiculous it is that we owners have to request for unlock.

You must unlock the bootloader to install any custom ROM in every device, so the UNLOCK is required.
