[Q] Loosing recovery and root each time

Hi everybody, I got my OPO: Chinese version basically came with ColorOS v2.1.0. I flashed the CM11S with the TWRP(first version) and encountered a lot of difficulties to flash the superSU.zip file. so I flashed the new version of TWRP(the one with friendly UI) and I was able to flash the superSU also. But Every time I do an update on CM11 (OTA) I loose both the root and the new recovery.
So my question is: Is there a way to keep the new version of TWRP and the root forever? I saw an option on Settings->developer Options-> Update CM Recovery but I'm not sure if it will change something.
PS: after flashing root and the new version of TWRP, I keep them after rebooting the phone. I only loose them when I update CM

no there's no possibility, otas flash stock recovery and remove root by design.
you have to do it again after every ota.
that's how things are mate, you'll get used to it

I think that a script would be really interesting in this case, or maybe a little software like odin

Are you in the states? If so does LTE work with the Chinese version?

I'm in China but i read somewhere that with flashing appropriate modem you can use it normally.

In supersu app enable Survival Mode to "keep supersu access, even across OTA updates."

That's not working because of an unknown reson I cannot istall superSu of Chainfire or ChainsDD. I can only use the one of ClockworkMod. And the option you mentionned above is not disponible in that app.

Yep.
Worked for me on the CM11S 30O big update but not on the incremental update.
Doesn't really matter though as you just boot back to recovery and flash supersu again. Take less than a minute.
Working fine on other roms.

The thing is that you get back to the stock recovery and in my case I can't install supersu.zip with the stock

Let's not give wrong infos.
To avoid that ota updates flash stock recovery every time go into developer options and unthick update cm recovery.
Regarding root you have two options: buy the premium version of supersu to have survival mode or keep a supersu zip on your phone's memory to flash it every time you update.

I tried this on the latest OTA and you're right if you unthick the update cm recovery then you keep your custom recovery.
+1 also for the root options. Noticed that with Philz recovery after I did the OTA update, Philz recovery suggested me automatically if I want to keep the root then I just had to click on yes.

Chance twrp version

Hi
I flashed twrp 3.0.2_r1 to install the alpha aosp rom of Alberto. Now i want to change rom but if i try to go to recovery It stuck on twrp logo. How Can i "update " the twrp? Using fastboot ? I know that there something like "fastboot erase recovery" and next re-flash the recovery like the First time. It's correct?

Download latest recovery (3.0.2r5 as of now) from TWRP thread. No need to erase current one, just flash the new one with

We don't know when or where the global version will be released. . .or when the global fastboot ROM will be made available.
Keep updated on the portal though as we'll definitely be announcing both when we know more

Global Version has already been released, currently writing this on a mix 3 Global.

Strange... 'm stuck with Find Device error at first boot after selecting country... (the only choice I have there is China)

[REQUEST] Honor 8 (FRD-L09 Oreo) HwCamera2 apk needed

Hi everyone! As the title says, i'm in search of HwCamera2 apk from the Honor 8 Oreo firmware. It's not really important if you have FRD-L19 variant, but would be better if you can provide me the FRD-L09. I need it because i'm trying to make it work on custom roms, and actually i don't have enough time to reflash stock firmware and extract it for myself, as H8 is my primary device. Hope you can understand.

I don't think Honor 8 have this feature / compatible with it.
EDIT: I don't have this "mode" on my FRD-AL00...

Hi, i have now installed on my china mi mix 3 a Xiaomi.eu Rom. Yesterday i tried to flash with twrp the global official stable rom, but also if i flash region fix my region is always lock on china. Any solution?

Being stuck with Chinese region is a good thing as all themes and features etc are available

Use Mi flasher and fastboot global Rom BUT DO NOT LOCK BOOTLOADER. Just erase and install.
