There should be some YouTube videos detailing the process of changing the screen.
As for finding out which screen fits, do some Google searches for:
"Screen replacement for (your specific model number"

Hi everybody,
So everything is in the title ^^
I've ordered mine (Black 16go) and was wondering if it has the same GRAM technology used for the G2's screen.
Thanks in advance

I asked this question in the forums recently and had zero response. at first I thought no
GRAM is a term that LG coined for the technology Self Panel Refresh. In my research I saw this tech being talked about in 2011, so it's not really new.
To my understanding SPR is not in the hardware of the Nexus 5. At least I can't find any mention of it. I was talking in /r/Android and someone said otherwise
http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/com...battery_miser_thanks_to_new/cd5ktqf?context=3
someone on reddit says
That is code from the N5 kernel. The device tree setting is overridden here - https://android.googlesource.com/ke...74-hammerhead/msm8974-hammerhead-rev-11j.dtsi - Also you can check the kernel log on bootup.
Panel Self Refresh is exactly what command mode panels do and it behaves as you describe. There is some memory on the IC that drives the panel. The panel refreshes itself from this memory every 16.6ms without involving the apps processor.

I have no idea what 'Command Mode Panels' do, nor could I find the details of the panel used in the Nexus 5. The best I could find was that it is made by Sharp, but even that I can't confirm because I could only find one source saying so.
I created a thread in /r/Android to ask - http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/1psnl8/does_the_nexus_5_really_have_gram/ - but I still couldn't get a solid confirmation
From the usage time I'm seeing in reviews, I would have to guess no. But I really dunno

anytime, im hoping we can get a little more information this. maybe in the manual or the anandtech review
The Nexus 5 has GRAM!
I stumbled across a review which specifically mentions and tests Panel self refresh (PSR). From their browser battery tests it looks like they are getting just under 7 hours without PSR enabled and just under 8 hours with PSR enabled. It provides around a 15% -25% increase in battery life depending on usage. I have no idea how they figured it out, but it looks like it's there.
I can't post outside links unfortunately but the review is at tweakers.net

Galaxy S7 screen not responding to touch sometimes. The bottom portion of the display is affected. I tried 6 different S7 and all of them have the same problem, test yours like this and tap gently not hard, when you press hard you press 3mm on the screen and that is a lot ! The problem is worse when the phone is cold (20C) This is annoying because the place where its not working is the same place where the space bar is and the "." Does anyone else have that exact problem? Here is a video of the problem : https://youtu.be/OW_FQBMcuOE

There are two threads already open with this situation.
I have this problem at the same location you demonstrate. The right side has this problem too. From bottom right to the top 1 cm and 2 or 3 cm up you are going to reproduce the same thing.
I get used to it but it is very annoying. Never liked Samsung because of this things. They use low quality material all around. I will never trust them.

Just received H9 update and the release notes did not mention anything about LCD, touch screen or anything related to it.
But since the update, I've been trying to reproduce the problem trying to find the blind spots and for my surprise I did not find anything. The touchscreen is perfect and I can feel it is more sensitive.
Before the update I could reproduce the problem very easy! Now it is perfect.
The update here in my region (Brazil - ZTO) was about 170MB. Samsung Cloud was introduced.
Wow, mine was manufactured 2 weeks ago (2016.08.16) and I've owned it since about the 24th too, so it was 8 days old when I received it

Yeah wow, looks pretty shoddy, but considering I don't see repair parts for the special edition anywhere, I don't think we'd have a choice. I guess with a case on it afterwards you probably wouldn't be able to tell anyway. Quick question - have you compared the connectors of the backlight for the Kenzo and Kate? Is there any difference? Wonder if it might be software related?

Has anybody tried replacing both the screen and the backplate? If we're lucky we only have to change both and then have no 2mm gap between display and housing.

Hmm? The midframe is 152.5mm... Xiaomi did not extended the length of this phone for fun... if you did that it would not fit at all

I have just ordered it, it was available for the gold one at least. Previous to the payment I calculated shipping cost to Finland with my address and it was 0€, it said also the delivery time was 7-10 days. After they´ve received the payment (39,42€), they sent an e-mail with the real delivery time: 11/05. So from 7-10 days to 23 days...
I will have time to check some youtube videos about LCD replacement and decide if I will do it by myself, meanwhile I´m already asking for budget is some shops... I´m not quite slick about assemblings/ replacements.

Hi guys, i'm coming from the Moto 360 Sport, and interested in getting the Huawei Watch 2 Sport, simple because Moto crippled it after the AW 2.0 upgrade, ridiculously slow to use now.
With the Moto 360 Sport, it did have a display feature called "AnyLight ", that displays in 'any light' and i loved that.
Motorola accomplishes it by combining a traditional backlit LCD in "transmissive" display with reflective backing. Or something like that.
Anyway, I really like this feature, see screens attached.
I was wondering what the Huawei Watch 2 Sport/Classic screens look like in dim/ambient mode. Does it have this idea?
Anyone care to share some photo of this, as I've read/watched so many reviews, but cannot see what this looks like.
Thanks a lot.
Darren.
Hw2 is amoled so in ambient modes is uses much much less battery because of the black pixels being off, but this feature that you're talking about is not available in hw2, however the watch display is very sharp and shiny even in direct sun light.
also be aware that amoled screens get damaged (burn-in issue) if a pixel is on a particular color for a long time, meaning that for example on ambient mode there are numbers around the screen that are always on, this may cause those numbers to burn in the screen so even when you are in a completely different screen, you will still see those numbers! (for more info google Burn-in)
Just adding to what was already said regarding burn in. Most watch face makers that support ambient move include a feature which shifts the pixels around ever so slightly to prevent burn in. A very simple yet elegant solution to the problem.

yeah if that's as you said it would be great, I havent noticed it yet
So I just found something interesting. Under developer options > Wear Developer options there is a "force anti burn" setting. Set this up now to give it a try.

hi seems like relevant topic for my question.
are there many disadvantages to get the wifi only (non 4G) of this huawei watch 2? (i get the obvious i cant put sim card and get direct internet connection of course). for example:
will the NFC still works on the non 4G model?
how about the xda community ie root twrp and custom rom? less or more than global version?
any other important things i need to know when deciding to get wifi only or 4G?
thank you.

i can live with that. i dont run alot yeah lazy me.
anything else? NFC and the custom roms are interchangeable?

Guys, any update on the "horizontal lines" that appear on the u11 display? Is it widespread like lg g4`s bootloop? Is it software or hardware related? Some users reported the lines disappearing after the oreo update..
I really want to buy this phone but I`m honestly afraid of stumbling on this issue.
No oreo and no lines. My phone is working perfectly and in perfect condition... For now..
I have this SOMETIMES on my new UK u 11 plus... is it something any other users have experienced? I can't tell when or why it happens but there's also trails on the touch screen at the same time...

Most likely its a hardware defect of the screen panel. You can return your unit to your seller for a warranty replacement.

I used to have those horizontal lines on Nougat.
At first I thought that it was simply a badly assembled ( bonded ) screen + digitizer assembly, however I noticed that I could trigger it with some specific actions which led me to believe that it was a software issue.
With Oreo update I haven't gotten the horizontal lines to appear again at all.
Even with the tricks I had found to trigger them, they simply do not appear anymore.
IMHO it's 100% software issue.
