I noticed today a weird bug in pixel 3 display. It's like the pixel 3xl notch but not exactly a notch. I restarted the phone and everything is alright now. Did anyone face the same issue?

I'm creating this thread to spread awareness, Xiaomi is using really low quality panels for the RMN5P, I got the phone and on day ONE, using official MIUI, my screen got the google keyboard G logo and the on-screen keys burned-in or persisting in the screen like in the attachment, that's the G logo in GBoard, I have to admit I'm very disappointed by Xiaomi on this one, if you have the same issue I encourage you to share it on this thread, and to also let Xiaomi know about this on the miui forums, thank you.
Edit: I got my device replaced and the new one does it as well 2 broken devices total
Don't have this problem, using it for 3 days since tuesday.
don't have this problem with almost one month usage

Thank you for your input guys but obviously not everyone is going to get bad panels, the issue is that Xiaomi is selling some phones with completely unacceptable panels and they have to become aware of it, I can't believe I got a brand new phone and images are retained on the screen from day one, and I'm not the only one, it has also been mentioned here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/help/3-days-usage-burn-t3793599
I don't have this issue. I've turned on display for 30 minutes on full brightness at the home screen only. And don't have image retention. I have Tianma TD4310 panel. I'm also checking cause I'm still on warranty.
It would help people to contribute to this problem if someone would post how users can find out which panel they have. I´ve heard the Aida64 app could do it, but I don´t see the panel manufacturer listed anywhere....
This usually happens on tianma displays
heres a little neat trick to avoid this
Turn on Reading mode and set the calibration to 1/4 so that it wouldnt be too yellow, tadah no more retention
^ It's a known fact.
You can either do what he said or you can use a custom rom (wait for one with kcal), go to display settings, color calibration and from 100% go to 95% to all the colors. You will have slightly lower brightness but no color retention.

True
Have the same problem with Mi A1 [Tianma Panel]
Service center rejected my claim that it is software issue (They downgraded OS to Nougat - Their solution)
Its there even with Nougat, have to get display panel replaced before warranty expires
Very very true
No one should buy this crap. barely 2 months of usage and the screen burn in is severe, image retention everywhere I'm very pissed at xiaomi for doing this.
Also got tianma td4310 panel but luckily no burn in after 2 weeks as I don't have mi service centers in my country
I have same problem... Help plz
This also happened to me using a Redmi 5 Plus. Yours is whyred, right?
How can I check which panel I have?

Type *#*#6484#*#* in the Xiaomi dialer
Ive got tianma. No image retention.
It does have crappy motion clarity tho. Albeit still much better than redmi note 4.
I had the same problem, I send back my note 5 and bought a Oneplus 6. In 60 min i had already ghosting.
To bad, nice phone but a ghosting is not done for me.
Panel was a tianma td4310.
U can test it by yourself, set it for like 15 min on 1 app and focus on some thing I went back to Twitter night view and I saw some details of the previous app on it.
A shame, the tiamma panels on the note 4 had the same problem aswell.
Maybe I wait for the Mi 8 and trade my oneplus in. But the notch is to big to display notification icons....
when scrolling text on a black/dark background at minimum brightness a purple smudge/trail follows the text.what problem is this?
I have started noticing it since the day 1 when I bought oneplus 6,it is very disgusting
What should i do to overcome this?
Should i take this isue to service center or is it normal?

I have that too
I just got my phone and opened it an hour ago and I just used the dark theme and moved to min brightness and scrolled the settings menu and I see no purple smudging/trailing. I assume any dark background and white text would be what you're talking about.
If i do it slowly it looks like the pixels are lagging behind or something. They take some time to come on
Coming from Pixel 2 xl, guys, dont complain about smearing ?

LoL
Amoled issue.
Someone explained that the green pixels turn off the quickest but red+blue take a little bit longer. So when you go from white to black. It'll be purple for a split second.
I can't confirm that, no issue here.
Don't worry, it's a thing with (probably) every AMOLED panel. The pixels turn off on black background & when you move fast the image enough, you can see them turn back on & do the purple blur
It's a problem of amoled ?
All amoled phones have that....chill n njoy ur oneplus 6...
At the moment I can't see any dispaly issue like the one you described. 8/256 version.
I can't see anything as you have described, so either I have a goldilocks screen or my eyes suck
Same problem with my OnePlus 6 and I had it on my previous OnePlus 3T. But I don't find it annoying, fortunately!
I Just dropped my pixel 3. Now i noticed am rattling sound when shacking the phone and tapping next to the camera. Is this normal? I did not noticed it before.
I know a lot of phones have it and that' it has something to do with the OIS .

My P2XL has had it for a year now. Everything works fine though. I just don't shake it, therefore, I don't hear it

?
It's the optical image stabilization and it's normal. I only really notice it if I tap rather hard on the top of the screen. I got used to it because my P2XL did the same thing.

Thanks for your reply. Now i know o don't have to wurry!
Hey Guys,
Saw an article on 9to5Google today about a shaking issue with the camera. I opened my camera app and sure enough I have that issue too. I didn't notice it until today.
My personal experience with this issue is when I open the camera app and place the phone in a stationary position, the image moves around slowly like the phone is being moved.
Mine isn't as bad as the video here.
Does anyone else have this issue?

Looks like a hardware issue. I don't have this issue on my P3XL. I am running Q Beta5 though. So, I don't know if its an issue with Pie.
i remember seeing more movement when i tested my device when it was new. figured thats how they got the extra pixels for high zoom
I just received my tablet yesterday and today noticed a dead pixel on my screen its a constant red dot its so frustrating now having to return it for a replacement
Ah man that sucks. Luckily mine is fine, hopefully it's not a common issue
Weird issue to get on an oled
Sent back. Just a waiting game now
