Hey, anyone know the official release of this model? And the price?
It will sell for 4,999rmb. The release date is supposedly November sometime... but as of now the only Mi Mix 3 color variant selling is the black one, and nobody (even from xiaomi) can give any info when the other colors will be released.
I'm hoping all the rest are released together and this month, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they save the Palace Museum Edition for a special release all on its own.

My faithful nexus have served me well but it needs to be replaced soon
What phone is the spiritual successor of the nexus line with the following characteristics:
Many developers for the phone. (AOSP port within weeks without official support)
5-6 inch
<500$
Is it correct that most devs wants snapdragon?
I see OnePlus as a candidate, is there more not counting Pixel.
Nothing stands out to me as outstanding this year. I am considering a LG G5

OnePlus 3 would be your best bet for sure.
I think the Xiaomi 5s is the best option.
I know you're probably dismissing the Pixel because of the price, but it really is a great phone. My sister just got one on Sunday since her S3 died a horrible death (eMMC card gave in for some unknown reason). The ad really wasn't lying with regard to having a great camera and charging extremely quickly (she got it at around 85% battery mid-Sunday and didn't have to charge it until 6 PM on Monday).
Yeah you're stuck in a sort of dead period between now and Mobile World Congress in Feb when the next wave of phone announcements come. As ppl have said, OnePlus3 (or rumoured OnePplus3T is your best bet in the flagship-specs-for-cheap segment. Mi5 or Mi5S would be the other option - maybe slightly prettier but bit more of a hassle to unlock and likely to have less good custom ROM support than the OnePlus.
Other than that wait til Feb/Mar for the next wave. In the meantime you could pick up a low end $150 device (take your pick of the Chinese vendors - I use a RedMi3) to tide you over and then use it as a backup phone?
Thanks for the replies.
I am not in a hurry as my old nexus is working fine
I had a look at mi5 page here at xda and saw that it hasen't got nougat yet so that's disqualifying.
Maybe I should formulate the question as: What brand do you think that CM,AOKP etc. will develop mainly on?
Even i have the same thoughts as yours and this is what I planned to do when im switching my Nexus 5.
- Look for a spiritual replacement: Right now I can only see One plus 3, which gives good hardware and dev support for under $500. Other phones are Axon 7 and Zen Phone Deluxe. They have good hardware but you need to research on the development part. Pixel is a good phone but not worth the price and im against such products.
- Look for a cheaper phone till I find a spiritual replacement: Xiaomi products are really good for $200. If you get bored in a year or so, can replace it with another cheaper phone till you find the replacement. Few Xiaomi phones have AOSP rom's which can be installed. I have not come across any other $200 phone with good hardware and little bit of dev support. One of the phones around $200 is Redmi Note 3. It has a Nougat AOSP ROM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/red...cyanogenmod-14-0-xiaomi-redmi-note-3-t3459382

Pixel will be the leading brand open platforms develop on!
Otherwise OnePlus is probably a good bet. I heard from someone that many googlers use them now for all the reasons discussed above.
Otherwise your best bet for support is the device which has the largest installed base in the non-Chinese speaking world. Largest installed base = more users = (all things equal) more devs. Maybe you can get a Samsung device for cheap!!
Last year, the OnePlus 5t had a collaboration with Disney, for the Star Wars version on the phone, it was basically a reskin but with some special star wars wallpapers. This time there is going to have an Avengers Theme to it! https://www.phonearena.com/news/All...OnePlus-6-may-be-unveiled-late-April_id103774
What if the actual release of the OnePlus 6 is on the 27th April, connected to the movie release? °-°
If anyone comes across a system dump of the OnePlus 6 the wallpapers might be in there like they were for the Star Wars edition

I'd say it'll be the 24th.

Does that mean that it'll launch on 27th April in India?

Its all a speculation for now. But I am also hoping for a launch in late April.
One thing I would say.
Based on previous history, OnePlus builds up hype about its phone over the course of 3 weeks to a month before it announces its phones.
Given that we started getting them open up about the notch, display in general and started releasing teaser clips about speed etc since the start of April, I think we will have an announcement at the back end of April or maybe early May.
The only other reason I could see them hyping up the phone early (if it isn't going to be released in the next month), is if they are trying to take some of the spotlight away from the Huawei P20 series... If so, it's actually a pretty clever move as people will be wondering if they should wait for OnePlus or go for the phone that has been released today...

My Mix 2s is on the way and I'm excited to get it. I'm just wondering how is Xiaomi with supporting their phones? Do they tend to be one upgrade of Android then done? How are they with security updates? I've wanted a mi mix since the first but only now had the money to snag one. Coming from the V20 while a great phone in it's day - LG never updated it from 7.0 and I've gotten only a couple of security updates. I'll keep it as a backup for the moment because it has literally everything but wireless charging.
Since I bought my mix 2s in may I've received about 2 updates. Currently waiting for miui10

The list of MIUI 10 is quite long,
so compared to others I would say they update longer.
I will also buy Mix2s for several reasons and this is one of them
Xiaomi is known for supporting their phones very long but you have to keep in mind that Miui doesn't follow android versions. There are phones with lollipop and miui 9
Doesn't look like its happening today (7/13) as it was supposed to

Apparently no .... ??
So tired of waiting for a new pixel devices.
I was looking for a good Compact Android phone with stock Android but it's impossible theses days.
I'm looking the other side now (11 pro or xs) with new features of ios 14 which seems like android (pip, new notifications menu, widgets,...)
I am tired of waiting too, so tired I bought a 3a XL to hold me over. The big G certainly knows they've lost sales with the delays. I'm sure they have a plan for the future. What it is or whether it makes sense or not remains to be seen.
Preorder just went live on Amazon US. Release Date on Aug 20th. I ordered the bundle and went back into my order and cancelled the case to get the phone only.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CFSZLQ4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
What is the advantage ordering from Amazon rather that Google?
AMZ has much easier returns, and much better supply chain.
Mi Mix 3 was a flagship phone in 2018. Mine is global version and I have not received updates since 2021.
Are they really gonna abandon software support after 3 years and leave it with Android 10?
What's your take on this, guys?
Miui 13 Come to china firmware but with android 10. Xiaomi was not good to maintain there product and like you i hope have à last update with miui 13 but i not expecting more than that....
For me it's the First and last xiaomi Phone i bought cause i have 2 update i must force..... Expecting more userfreindly experience.
The phone work great again and all the hardware part of this one was good 3 years after.....
