There's an app available on xda which is the launcher from the 6t which is said to have the gestures of the 6t, it doesn't work for me though. Has anyone else tried it?
Edit: Fixed link

I've just tried it by myself and it works. I'm on OB5 Pie
It doesn't seem to be working on stable pie then

It works great. Before installing this app i was using gesture navigation. May be u need to se the navigation to gesture then install the app. After that in setting you get to change to new gesture style.

is it just the recent app animation that's changed?
whoaa i get some weird visual bugs using this...
I guess this is only for OB5 users, I really think those will work amazingly well. At least if they are like I saw on the keynote.

I experienced the same. It's in the comments here https://www.xda-developers.com/download-oneplus-6t-launcher-new-gesture-oneplus-6/
I can confirm. New gesture to quick open last app doesn't work on stock Android Pie
Wysłane z mojego ONEPLUS A6003 przy użyciu Tapatalka
Tried clearing data on the launcher, tried installing it while using gestures, nothing seems to work on stable Pie.
Im on stable pie, and it is also not working for me.
Error app doesnt instaled. Iam stay on OB5.
I just installed on my op6 running ob5, I can confirm the gesture is working on the oneplus native navigation gestures.
it has also made going to recent apps really snappy and way easier and smoother, love it
Try it ? And work well
Yeah it doesn't
work on the stable one plus 6 pie

I've compiled CM11 for the Evita and it's been running great for me for the last week, so I thought I'd share it with the community. These are compiled straight from the source https://github.com/cyanogenmod. Thanks to the whole CM team for the hardwork, and PA/BaNkS for the GApps. Use the provided recovery, as I haven't had success with flashing through TWRP.
To install do the following:
1) In fastboot, fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
2) reboot to recovery then install CM11 followed by PA 4.4 Gapps (Or BaNkS GApps)(wipe cache/dalvik cache)
3) ???
4) Profit!
11/28 Build has a cherry=pick based on this commit to enable NFC HCE (Host-based Card Emulation) meaning GoogleWallet tap-to-pay is now enabled! If you have GWallet, report back if this works for you.
12/4 Build incorporates fix found by phoenixita to make build flashable via twrp! Also, netflix and other video services appear to be working without a grey block taking up 50% of the video.

Nope, I've just been running stock.
Does anybody know where I can find settings to change the battery icon to the circle with percentage numbers in the center? Also have lockscreen targets been implemented yet? Lastly can I remap buttons yet? Thanks op, it's running great!
Does tap to pay with Google Wallet work? I've tried beanstalk 4.4 and I couldn't make it work. After I spend my free $20 I got from signing up for ISIS I'm ready to ditch the stock ROM and get back on the bleeding edge of things.
Excuse my ignorance, but what id ART.

The PA full package from the OP. It says that ART is supported, but all I got was Google+, Gmail, sysUI, and other crashes.
After installing 4.4 and Gapps, I went to developer settings, switched to ART, and it made me reboot. There aren't any other steps to take first, are there?
is there a viable way to replace the Emotion UI yet? Or, are we going to be stuck using the huawei version of Android? Has anyone tried to mod or replace the Emotion UI yet?
I'm also thinking of buying one, but only if there's possibility to install CM ROM on it later. I don't like the Emotion UI. Is there a way to root and any custom ROM for AM7?

The problem seem to be, we cannot set the default launcher to be other Launchers except the Huawei Launcher. ( You can select set default in other Launchers but once you hit home button it will come back to be Huawei Launcher ). As the option to clear default in Apps management has been disabled. If you know how to set the default Launcher please tell us how to do it ?

Yeah this is thr problem i think. Not only the default launcher cant be changed. There was also a review by a user that other apps cant be set as default to open some files; only the default huawei apps can be used.

Actually, yes you can. But you'll have to root it and install an app able to manage the system apps like Titanium Backup. Once you have it, you can install a custom launcher and freeze / uninstall (with the help of Titanium Backup) EMUI launcher.

Thanks for your input, however ,changing a launcher should not involve rooting your phone. It is a build in option of Android. What Huawei is doing, not even Google now Launcher can install, surely Google would not ask users to root their phone in order to install Google now Launcher.
I was under the impression the software for it was locked down so tightly on the phones we've seen because it's a Chinese phone built for the Chinese market and there are certain features that are required to be disabled (Play Store, etc). The Western versions of the AM7 will probably let you change the launcher. If not, your guess is as good as mine.

Huawei EMUI V2.3 still let user change home launcher as normal ( I can confirm this, as I am using Huawei P7 which is china model ) But AM7 which come with EMUI V3 disabled that option. Just hope some one can find way to crack this without needing to root the phone.
Dont know about the other china specific phone, but as far as I know for Huawei and Xiaomi you can side load google services and have full google apps and sync with some work, without the need to root. But some how they decided to disable the option to change Launcher with their latest software update.
Go to settings, Home, and select the launcher you have installed.
Alternatively, go to Play store and download Launcher Switcher.
The first method is easiest.

From your quote, it seem you are using Huawei Acsend P7, which is having EMUI v2.3, yes you can do that as there is Home setting, But we are talking about Huawei Ascend MATE 7 which have EMUI V3.0, there is no such setting. This setting has been disabled. Home switcher does not work either as the clear default option also disabled.
Wow, that's entirely new to me.
So you're saying that Huawei has locked mate 7 users to their UI?
I thought all Android providers had to allow users to choose what skin to utilise.
Thanks, I didn't know. I think that's very un-clever of Huawei. I have both the P7 & P6....they may be the last Huawei's I ever own!!

Yes, there is no way to change the default launcher to a third-party one, such as Nova, if you are running stock EMUI 3.0 without root. I have just confirmed this on my Chinese MT7-TL10. You can only choose between the two built-in EMUI launchers: "Default" and "Simple".
Maybe this will change when an European version is released, but the current Chinese firmware keeps you locked to their UI.

That is a big letdown, and a dealbreaker for me.
As reviewed by one user, even choosing apps to open certsin files is not possible in mate 7. Its a very basic function in android that huawei has unceremoniously locked up.
Will the asian/ international version be like this also?

After Upgrade, in fastboot mode enter the following command:
Code:

(patched_boot.img you get here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78505444&postcount=6)
The smartphone will be restarted.
Then open Magisk Manager App -> Install -> Install (direct)
Reboot.

Saw this Article about the new Google Pixel themes. Tried to follow the steps to get it to work but apparently our PH1 isn't as close to a Pixel as I thought it was.
Anyone have any luck getting this to work? Or seen someone who has it working on another device somewhere on XDA that isn't a Pixel?
I was able to install all 3 apps, do the ADB command but the wallpaper app just Force Closes/crashes when I attempt to do anything.
