is there a viable way to replace the Emotion UI yet? Or, are we going to be stuck using the huawei version of Android? Has anyone tried to mod or replace the Emotion UI yet?
I'm also thinking of buying one, but only if there's possibility to install CM ROM on it later. I don't like the Emotion UI. Is there a way to root and any custom ROM for AM7?

Just download one of your choice...GO, NOVA, even a fully working Google 5 lollipop launcher is there, xperiaZ3....Just download.

The problem seem to be, we cannot set the default launcher to be other Launchers except the Huawei Launcher. ( You can select set default in other Launchers but once you hit home button it will come back to be Huawei Launcher ). As the option to clear default in Apps management has been disabled. If you know how to set the default Launcher please tell us how to do it ?

Yeah this is thr problem i think. Not only the default launcher cant be changed. There was also a review by a user that other apps cant be set as default to open some files; only the default huawei apps can be used.
Too bad. Why did huawei do this?

Actually, yes you can. But you'll have to root it and install an app able to manage the system apps like Titanium Backup. Once you have it, you can install a custom launcher and freeze / uninstall (with the help of Titanium Backup) EMUI launcher.

Thanks for your input, however ,changing a launcher should not involve rooting your phone. It is a build in option of Android. What Huawei is doing, not even Google now Launcher can install, surely Google would not ask users to root their phone in order to install Google now Launcher.
I was under the impression the software for it was locked down so tightly on the phones we've seen because it's a Chinese phone built for the Chinese market and there are certain features that are required to be disabled (Play Store, etc). The Western versions of the AM7 will probably let you change the launcher. If not, your guess is as good as mine.

Huawei EMUI V2.3 still let user change home launcher as normal ( I can confirm this, as I am using Huawei P7 which is china model ) But AM7 which come with EMUI V3 disabled that option. Just hope some one can find way to crack this without needing to root the phone.
Dont know about the other china specific phone, but as far as I know for Huawei and Xiaomi you can side load google services and have full google apps and sync with some work, without the need to root. But some how they decided to disable the option to change Launcher with their latest software update.
Go to settings, Home, and select the launcher you have installed.
Alternatively, go to Play store and download Launcher Switcher.
The first method is easiest.

From your quote, it seem you are using Huawei Acsend P7, which is having EMUI v2.3, yes you can do that as there is Home setting, But we are talking about Huawei Ascend MATE 7 which have EMUI V3.0, there is no such setting. This setting has been disabled. Home switcher does not work either as the clear default option also disabled.

So you're saying that Huawei has locked mate 7 users to their UI?
I thought all Android providers had to allow users to choose what skin to utilise.

Maybe this will change when an European version is released, but the current Chinese firmware keeps you locked to their UI.

That is a big letdown, and a dealbreaker for me.
As reviewed by one user, even choosing apps to open certsin files is not possible in mate 7. Its a very basic function in android that huawei has unceremoniously locked up.
Will the asian/ international version be like this also?

From My AM7 there is no way to change Launcher, there is no such option in Settings.

No, not when this is XDA and rooting your phone, installing TiBu, and freezing an app takes a whole 5 minutes to do. You may actually learn something along the way as well. You seem like the perfect candidate for an iPhone .

Itself is 2.05, it works perfectly after upgrading to 2.09. Android Pay works in this release

I've never have any issue with NeoSafe, and never aware it is there, there's no UI existed on my phone

this rom 209 in addition to not being fully translated, the notifications do not work for all app. I tried to use the Chinese 206 and google play all the time disconnects from the account that gets to bug the rest of rom. Do you have any whatsapp for us to exchange ideas?

I am finally happy with the ROM after lots of tinkering. Common issues solved:
1. Google apps: Give permissions to Google play services and the problem is solved.
2. Password on boot: Wipe data or format data in twrp and its working
3. Dialer crash: Delete every Chinese app or default app if you want but don't delete the launcher, it crashes the dialer and doesn't let u update the contacts.
*Neo Safe app permission is yet to be resolved.
For any other issue: Do let me know.

1. Download ROM from http://www,nubia.com/in/support.php?a=phone&pid=54, choose the latest one
2. Place the ROM file in SDCard or OTG
3. Boot in recovery mode (Hold vol up + power together)
4. Choose update package
5. Make some coffee

can someone give me a system dump once they upgrade to the latest firmware?
Those stock ROMs generally seem fine (2.04 through to 2.10), but lock screen is kind of messed up. It doesn't show Spotify controls at all on any of the versions.
Do you also experience this kind of problem?

You did not do anything wrong, it's still in the 4th, that's nothing new.
and it has not changed much, notifications of what they say they have solved, do not notify properly, have hours that do not even show the app being open, just minimized.
I'm hoping to leave a mokee that the battery is going on, because I can not stand these nubia roms that never solves anything

Recently I received my OTA update to MHA-L29 8.0.0.360(C185)
Ever since then, if I switch tasks while navigating in Google Maps it will put Maps into a small overlay that appears over whatever I switch to, and it doesn't appear in the recent apps if I try and switch back to it, instead to make it full screen again I have to tap on the application icon from my home screen.
Quite honestly, I can appreciate the usefulness of this feature, but it's been poorly implemented and ends up being a nuisance to me. Does anyone know how to disable this feature (revert back to how it behaved in Android 7?)

Hmm. Not entirely true. I think it's a matter of signature. I was able to install 5.0.40.15 of the Messaging app without problems. Even with the Email app from Pie, it did so as well though somehow its API was reduced from 27 to 26 and lower. Well, we just have to wait for the dev for his next update of the app and maybe it'll install successfully by then.

It works great. Before installing this app i was using gesture navigation. May be u need to se the navigation to gesture then install the app. After that in setting you get to change to new gesture style.

I've recently bought oppo find X2 pro after owning pretty much every flagship phone you can think of note 20 ultra Xperia 1 ii OnePlus 8 pro etc etc. I must admit I really like it, don't think I will be going back to another brand unless oppo screw up the next flagship phone.
Anyhow what I'm slight disappointed that there's no theme engine unless I missed it somewhere? Is there anyway of installing theme engines on this phone?
Also do EU fellow owners feel the same as me regarding no themes?
I tried multiple versions of the theme store APK and none of them worked. There is a way to make the themes work thought you have to download them separately, move to the theme folder, open and apply as trial and then using the app SETEDIT from Play Store edit the number in line PERSIST.SYS.TRIAL.THEME from 1 to 0 thigh basically disables the trial thing and you can use the theme as normal.

Where did you download them from mate? I think the updated Colour OS 11 has theming for UK but again that's not out yet.

For theming download themes from realme !! Download iMod Pro from PlayStore . After downloading theme open with stock file manager than you see the theme klick on Test theme. After open iMod Pro and klick on the blue toggle now you have theme permanently

For theming download themes from realme !! Download iMod Pro from PlayStore . After downloading theme open with stock file manager than you see the theme klick on Test theme. After open iMod Pro and klick on the blue toggle now you have theme permanently

I just attempted your suggestions.
Unfortunately iMod Pro isn't available in the Play Store in the UK (not on my X2 Pro anyway).
Also Theme Store 7.3.1 comes up with the message saying it's incompatible in the UK when opening it.
Please let me know if I've done something wrong.

Here too Germany install lawnchair beta than on theme store you press long and you have like 3d touch an menu my themes than you can open it
