eSim transfer available for AT&T on Pixel 3/3XL already? - Google Pixel 3 Questions & Answers

I called an AT&T store near me (Orange, CA) and I was told they had the new blue sim card pack with the QR code and I could come in today to transfer my number to the esim from the physical...will go tomw morning to see if they know what they're talking about but in the meantime has anyone else tried it on the pixels? If so, how do I open Google's eSim manager app? It says in the play store that I have it installed but I don't see it on the phone..

In "Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Carrier" there is an "Add Carrier" option which lets you scan the QR code. I think that's what you're looking for.

I visited our local ATT store yesterday afternoon. Needed a new sim so I could get wifi calling to activate (previous sim was at least 2yrs old). I asked about using an eSim and the rep told me they had the "cards" in the back but had received instructions from ATT that they weren't supposed to be using them until further notice..... Not sure if he was just blowing smoke or not. I suppose it's also possible that eSim isn't fully operational up here in Alaska, although I wouldn't know if or why that would be. He said everything was ready, they were just waiting for word from the office to start using them.
On a plus note, wifi calling was working out of the box, once I had a more recent sim.

How do I get my MSL without calling Sprint?

I finally purchased a used Sprint S5 recently. My plan is to put the phone on the Boost Mobile Network. Boost Mobile stores are able to unlock my phone to Boost network, HOWEVER the MSL is needed. Well I'm sure you already know, Sprint is giving me a difficult time. A Sprint CS says the phone's ESN is clear to activate on Sprint, however due to "the way it was purchased" they could not unlock the phone (or give me the MSL) for other carriers. What do I do?

On way is to activate it on someone elses account for just 5 minutes or so. Will give you chance to make sure it works. Then reactive their own phone and you're done. Now have your friend check his email and they will have an email from sprint thanking them for activating the new phone. Look at the email.. It will show some of the device specifics like model number, phone number and also an activation code. The activation code is actually your msl. It's a standard email from Sprint whenever you activate or reactivate a phone from your PC.
So find a friend with a Sprint phone and make sure the account is in his (or her) name. Have them log into their Sprint account on a PC and once they're logged in, scroll down to the "About My Devices" section. In this section you will see is a dropdown box that says "manage my devices". Click the down arrow in the box and choose, "activate new phone". It will take to you to a very straight forward wizard to guide you thru it. Choose no to all the options that they offer and when you get to the part of the activation about resetting the phone prior to activation, don't worry about it. Just click thru the steps of demo window that pops up then close that window after the demo is done. Once you finish the demo and close the pop up window you can continue. Follow the prompts until you click the activate button and turn off the phones as per the message that pops up. When you turn on your phone it will be activated with a voice and data signal. The whole process takes less than 5 minutes. Now check your friends email for your msl and you're done. Then do the same thing again but choose your friends phone to activate (as the new phone). Also note you will need the id numbers under the battery or have them ahead of time.

Thank you for the response I appreciate it. I will definitely consider. Is there any other method besides one mentioned above? I was thinking more along the lines of an apk like "Get MSL" to acquire the lock code. I've been utilizing the search function on both XDA and Google, but it seems that any method using an APK or program is defunct due to the new Software upgrade. Does anyone know of any other way?
Google GTv3.1.5.apk and GTUpdate2_v3.1.8.apk by idone.apps . The "GT" stands for Galaxy Tools; It will internationally unlock you sim as well as give you your MSL, enable hotspot etc... I beleive it was taken off google play, just google the 2 apk files and you'll find them.

IEMI "Not Available"?

So I got a refurbed LG Urbane 2nd Edition (W200V) Verizon version. It didn't come with a SIM card. When I went to Verizon to get the watch activated on my account, they needed the IEMI. I checked in Settings / Cellular / SIM Status, and it has all cellular settings as "Not Available."
Do I need a SIM for these to become available? Or is there something wrong with the watch?

Both the serial number (S/N), and the ESN/EIMI will be etched on the back of the watch. You'll see these along the edge of the removable facing (the one you remove in order to access the sim card.)
The S/N will be 14 characters long and will be alpha-numeric. The ESN/EIMI will be 15 characters long and is ONLY numeric.
I actually figured that out, but also found out that this information is only visible in the watch when there is a sim in place. Like it disables the cellular comm chip until the sim is located.
But thank you. Maybe this will help someone else.

How do I enable a UK Three sim in the HW2 LTE if the sim requires web to enable?

I have a new HW2 LTE which is working fine, I'm in the UK.
I installed a new Three service provider sim into the watch last night and looking at the settings it seems to have been recognised.
However to 'enable' the sim for calls and txt I need to be able to use a browser on the watch that then uses the on watch LTE connection to 'validate' the sim and then allow me to add credit.
Ideas?
Not a fix, but as a workaround I put the sim into a tablet, enabled it there and then moved it back to the phone and all is now good.
Doing a bit of googling it looks like there's only one browser for Wear OS and they dev seems to have only enabled a serious crippled demo and you then pay for the full version in-app so you can't ask for a refund if it's rubbish.
Has anyone used another 'mainstream' browser on the HW2?
yes there is actually a new and very good browser for wear os, You will find it in play store on the watch

Question Esim plan for Galaxy LTE watch4 in US

Hello, I want to buy a cheap US phone plan for my Watch4. I am seeking:
- esim capability
- without requiring to have the smartphone plan. I do not want to change my current carrier.
- Could be Prepaid or postpaid
- Since a watch hardly uses any data, even a 500MB per month will be enough.
Any suggestions?
Who's your Carrier?
I'm good with TMobile unlimited plan w/ Digits esim addon ....

I just set this up today. I have a Google pixel phone with Google Fi and wanted a standalone LTE watch with a separate phone number to my phone.
Steps:
- I purchased a Watch 4 LTE at Samsung store then walked to the nearest T-Mobile store. At that point I was not a T-Mobile customer.
- I asked to get the $5 per month Wearables 500mb plan (unlimited talk, messages, 500mb data). They did a trans union credit check and set it up. It took about 15 minutes.
-They took my watch's EID number to connect the watch to my new plan
-I then set up my T-Mobile online account and added the new phone number of the watch
- Once logged in to my T-Mobile account online, I got the esim QR code data from here: https://www.t-mobile.com/support/devices/t-mobile-esim#heading4. The activation code is what the QR code contains, this is what you need to paste into the watch: LPA:1$T-MOBILE.GDSB.NET$
- Next step is to enable access to the watch's esim as standalone is not officially supported by Samsung:
- Open Galaxy Wearables app on your phone; go top left menu and click "About Galaxy Wearable"; tap "Galaxy Wearable" text about 5 times to open the developer options; Tap "Test ESIM Feature"; Tap "Current QR TestMode : off" to turn it on.
- In Wearables App go to "Watch Settings" and tap "Mobile Plans" and tap QR scanner; enter activation code manually - paste the esim qr data obtained in above step
-Watch will connect to T-Mobile and ask to download something to finish setup.
- In Google Messages on the watch I can switch between my pixel phone number and watch number to view, send and receive texts.

My first smartwatch, GW, I bought a plan on T-Mobile for stand-alone while I was on Sprint. This was way before they merged. I just went into a T-Mobile store and purchased a plan, at that time, for $15.00 a month.

You have one number on your mobile and another on watch. Are they connected together in some way, ie a call on phone can be answered from the watch?
Are you connected through digits or not?

-My phone has a google fi number. My watch has a separate t-mobile number
-With 2 separate lines like I have, ideally you'd want to forward phone calls to the watch number when the phone is off, out of range or doesn't pick up; and similarly watch calls to the phone number when off, etc
-Text messages for watch and phone just work. They only need a data connection and are both routed to the watch via bluetooth tether, wifi or LTE data. With watch bluetooth and wifi disabled, I receive text messages to both numbers, and when I reply they show as coming from the number they were sent to. However, watch 4 notifications only seem to work for the watch number with only lte enabled (I get all phone texts, just not notified about them, still testing this one)
-Not sure what digits is. To set this up, the store employee added my watch's EID number to my account, then at home I pasted t-mobile's esim activation code (LPA:1$T-MOBILE.GDSB.NET$) into the watch at "enter activation code manually" step. You don't need the QR code once you know what it contains.
- My use case:
In the "phone" app on the watch 4, Settings -> Preferred number -> "Always ask"
In the "phone" app on the watch 4, Settings -> Supplementary services -> Call waiting enabled
On the watch: Settings -> Connections -> Mobile Networks -> set to "Auto"
I have conditional forwarding enabled for the watch number: with watch LTE on, in the "phone" app on watch, dial *004*phone's number#, and select watch number to dial from (more details on MMI codes here: https://www.androidauthority.com/call-forwarding-android-870778/)
Google Fi does not support conditional call forwarding. When I type the *004* MMI code I get an error saying not supported by google Fi.
Google Fi does have unconditional forwarding, however. I have this enabled (setting in their app).
When watch and phone are paired (LTE off):
I receive calls sent to both phone or watch numbers
I can place a phone number call, but not a watch number call (LTE is off)
When I'm out without my phone (LTE on):
I receive calls sent to both phone or watch numbers
I can place a watch number call, but not a phone number call
When the watch only has wifi on (so LTE and bluetooth disabled)
I cannot receive any calls
I cannot place any calls
Looks like VoWifi is not working

I am in the same boat.
On my watch4, LTE internet works fine with $5 T-mobile plan, but calling/SMS does not. Call or SMS does not go through. Have tried lot of options, while spending hours on phone with tech support.

Question S21 G996B/D - Wi-Fi Calling settings gone

I was with T-Mobile up until a week ago and always had Wi-Fi calling settings available to me and I used it all the time.
I changed to AT&T and now my Wi-Fi calling settings are gone. Vanished. Nowhere to be found.
I read many posts online about SIM needs to be enabled, carrier needs to offer the service (AFAIK, AT&T does have WiFi Calling), etc, but my question is - let's assume there is something wrong with the SIM (brand new SIM, 5G, on a "bring-your-own-phone-Pre-Paid-plan") or the carrier doesn't "offer it". Can this actually remove the feature from my phone in such a way that it won't even be in the settings? Grayed out, but still in the settings? I thought it's part of the phone's firmware (depending carrier's availability), not part of the SIM.,
