Protected app now gone

I used trebuchet's new feature to protect a folder and now I cannot find the messaging app that was in it. It is the default messenger app. I can get to it from the Google launcher but it had disappeared from trebuchet. I unchecked it from the protected apps list also but still cannot find it. Does anybody know how to get those apps back or where to re-enable them? I also tried resetting the locked apps in the settings menu of the protected apps and that did not bring it back either. Other apps that I set to protected did not disappear like the messenger app did. They all showed back up.

[SOLVED!] Can't add/remove apps to/from home screen, please help

As the title says, I am unable to add or remove apps to/from home screen. If I want to access an app that's not on the home screen I have to go to the app drawer. Not sure when this started to happen. Running stock ROM since day one, using ADW launcher. Anyone have any suggestions, aside from a full reset?
OK, so I figured out what was wrong, it seems that I somehow locked the screen, that's why I was not able to add/remove apps.

notifications and sd Lollipop

Hi, i have a Lillopop on my note Edge and now i see double notificacions for whatsapp, Hangouts... because notification appears on edge screen and main screen with Kikkat only on Edge screen.
Do you Know any fix for them?
Another question i can´t write on my SD external with lollipop, I think Lollipop have a fix for can Write SD external Again.
Thank´s a lot
If youre rooted you can fix it to write anywhere on the SDcard.
If youre not rooted you can write in the app dir the installated app created when it was being installed. (on the Sdcard)
multi notifications
Anyone know of that fix? For example; whatsapp, Snapchat etc gives me a notification on the top of the screen (lolipop banner) and the note edge screen. I hate the lolipop notification. Kit kat was perfect just the black bar why would I want half the screen taken up for ages displaying a message. Anyone have a fix for this? Either just the note edge notification or going back to kit kat notifications. Thanks in advance

you can't.
i downgraded to KK 4.4.4 because Google doesn't let the user remove the Lollipop popup (head-up) notifications.
the only thing you can do (i think) is disable the notifications in the edge panel, but the Lollipop notifications can't be disabled... you can only disable "globally" the notifications from apps that you can select in the relevant options menu.
the only known way to disable Lollipop popup and bring back the ticker in the status bar is rooting the phone, install xposed and the relevant module, but, at the moment, xposed is not compatible with 5.0.1.
maybe there's also a way using an sql editor (with root), like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/help/head-notification-lollipop-t3031936

What did you do to go back to kit kat? Do I have to be rooted? I hope not. I am not liking lollipop at all. Primarily because my edge is now a note 4 withouten the notifications staying confined to the edge panel alone. Thanks in advance.

no root needed.
backup yr data
download and flash with ODIN the KK 4.4.4 firmware for your phone (mine is 915FY)
after the reboot, the phone will bootloop
remove the battery, wait 1 min, reinsert
boot into recovery menu and Wipe DATA and CACHE.
reboot
all done.
remember to turn off wifi and mobile data when you boot up the phone after the downgrade, and first of all go to settings and DISABLE automatic firmware update.
otherwise the phone will start downloading the Lollipop firmware and an ask you to update the phone again and again.
Thanks for the responses, helped. Yeah I genualinly can't stand the lolipop notifications seems pointless to me, and they can't be swpiped away without being removed from the notifction bar. Going to downgrade now! Thanks a lot! Possibly be avalbile to do on root when 5.1 comes out? When it does and someone finds out please let me know be so thankful.
Cheers

facebook integrated?

Hello,
Since when has facebook been integrated into the os system. I'm pretty sure its only since oreo 8.0.
I have a problem with a notification showing on my facebook, I have no new notifications and this will not go away. Its annoying
Went to uninstall facebook and messenger to find out it only rolls back the update to factory installed app. What the hell??
I don't want his on my phone, I want a clean uninstall and reinstall of the app.
Factory installed app is exactly that. It is held in a part of the memory that cannot be modified so the app is as pure as the day it was flashed. To remove it permanently means rooting the phone.
You can disable the app in settings/apps once it has been cleared to default.
Also you should be able to swipe the notification and permanently exclude them from showing. If not then go to settings - apps - Facebook and disable its permissions.
If the notification is one of those dots on the icon then the problem is with sense home. Clear its cache and it should be OK.

Question Most comprehensive way to get my settings and whatnot back after a factory reset?

I've decided I rly don't want the nav bar. I prefer the Samsung three button swipe up method. How much of my current setup can I get back should I unlock the bootloader to root and therefore factory reset my device?
...Unless there's an option to hide the nav bar without root
Thank you.
For me, factory resetting really isn't all that bad. Been doing roms since 2011, so starting fresh is a reoccurring thing for me.
My important photos/videos are backed up through Google Photos while my SMS/MMS are backed up through SMS Backup and Restore. Everything else, pretty much just login through apps with a password manager. System settings, I go through one-by-one and set them up every single time, but that only takes but so long.
Maybe someone could add some stuff that requires manually backing up those apps specifically?

Going to see how this works, give me one sec. Not sure how it works on the latest Android, but it can achieve what you're looking for.
Vivid Navigation Gestures - Apps on Google Play
Fluid navigation gestures for all of us!

Edit: No go. Dug up the article and now it seems like your only option will be to root, unless someone knows something more.
Google confirms overscan is gone in Android 11, crippling third-party gesture apps
Google has confirmed that overscan is not present in Android 11. This change will cripple third-party navigation gesture apps and others.
www.xda-developers.com
vivid navigation gestures paired with aospmods is the only way to hide the navigation bar. afaik the setting to hide the navbar within vivid NG doesn't work. need root
I could be completely wrong with what you are after regarding the swipe options, but try this for the 3 button navigation. (Translated from Dutch, so menu might look a little bit different)
Settings > System > gestures > system navigation
Here you can disable the swipe, and enable the 3 buttons option.
I'm using the Xposed Edge app to hide the navigation pill. I also have the None Display Cutout module installed which, in conjunction with the Xposed Edge app, I can toggle the Status bar too.
