Hope somebody has the magic solution.
I have a moto E 4 plus XT1775 with 7.1.1 that is rooted with Magisk and all notifications are very delayed. Most cases I won't get the notifications until I wake up the phone and wifi is set to always on, power saver is off, turned off battery optimizer for the apps I need the notifications but it does this even when I'm on 4g. Don't know if it's an OS issue as my old Samsung running on 4.4.4 gets them instant all the time. This issue is causing me a big problem because some people aren't very happy with me as they think I'm ignoring them since I don't respond in a timely manor especially when they say, get back to me as soon as possible, but I didn't know they were trying to get a hold of me. Or 2 hours later I wake up the phone and it tells me my car alarm went off, a lot of good that does me 2 hours after it happened. If I'm using the phone, notifications come in fine but after it's asleep for a little while, it could be 10,15 min or longer then the problem starts. I think it did this even before I rooted. Any help on this would be great.
Thank you

I have the moto e4 plus too the same model and i am having this exact issue i had called Motorola and no one was able to figure out the problem, i have went through every setting and still nothing i even factory reset the phone and still the same result, now what is weird is i have another Moto e4 plus that was made in 2017 with android Nougat same security update and it dont do this at all, this is very frustrating because i bought a smart watch and it wont receive the notifications until i physically go in my phone and wake it up from the lock screen then suddenly i get all my notification as if they were delayed what i find weird is its almost like the phone goes into a deep sleep and refuses to be woken up by notifications ive tried everything i think it software related

I'm starting to keep a log every time my g2x locks up where I write down the date, time and what I was doing when it happened to get an idea of what could be causing it to happen and to get an idea of how often it happens.
If you want to do this as well, please post which rom you are using and which firmware.
So far, I've logged this once when I was opening a site in the android browser.
Using Cyanogenmod 7 with Gingerbread 2.3.4
About to get on star tours, pulled it out of my pocket to check mousewait.
lockedup
I have had re boots every now and then.
Freezes and screen locks just seemed to start last week, and now today, my phone seems to shut off the screen 30 seconds after boot.
The touch buttons work fine as well as the sound and vibrate. When I hold down the off button I feel it vibrate as it does when the menu pops up, but the screen does not show.
I'm kind of clueless what changed to make this happen.
bionix..
Listening to Pandora for around 30min. Turned on the screen to check battery level. Was getting low. Plugged it into the wall charger. Phone rebooted. Had headphones plugged in.
Turned off screen. Waited a minute. Usually worked.
G2x with faux AOSP and faux orange kernel. [email protected] 5107 quadrant.
I've been consistently logging what I was doing when the phone locks up (which is no more than once per day) and it seems that my G2X has always locked up while browsing in the android browser except for 1 instance where it locked up in the Firefox app.
Has anyone else noticed this as well ? I am keeping up with the latest builds of CyanogenMod hoping that these bugs will get worked out.
On the bright side, the problem where the audio doesn't work until you reboot the phone seems to have gone away. I guess that it's been fixed in the latest builds.

Glad I'm not the only one...
I just put the phone back in the box I bought it in.
I stopped using custom ROMS when streaming radios just lagged or skipped. Now granted, at least in Stock ROM, the radio stream lag and skips stopped. It pisses me of that Slacker Radio will not work on G2x. I tried almost ever ROM. I think its the phone or the silly app. The crashes/freeze, especially on stock android browser was the last straw for me.
I had it and locked it up until the LG updates the device.
On myTouch 4g until then.
I was texting and this POS just decided to lock up.
I went to unlock the screen and this POS locked up.
I was scrolling through apps and this POS decided to lock up.
Sorry for the agression but im borederline done with this phone, 3rd shipped one.
sleeping. or sitting at my desk not using the phone. I don't think I've had it lock/reboot more than once when I was actually doing something, but lately it's rebooting every night when I'm fast asleep (phone isn't plugged in) and sometimes during the day in my pocket.

Finally someone who is in the same boat as me. I'm trying all kinds of different things to pinpoint the cause because it's very obvious that it's related to some software that's time based - runs at specific intervals. I get either freezes in standby or reboots almost every night in the middle of the night - like 3-4AM or so. HOWEVER, I use the crap out of the phone during the day (every feature, kill it all) and it hangs tough and runs great. So it's not hardware for sure. Will post if I find anything.
I was dropping a deuce when it locked up.

Unlocking the screen, charging off of AC or USB, texting, browsing, doing nothing sitting on my desk or in my pocket... umm... let's see... just about ANYTHING at any given time. Let's not forget the random reboots that happen multiple times a day and sometimes goes for 2 or 3 days without doing it. Battery pulls becoming more frequent then with my old BB. Getting to be ridiculous.
Let me not forget I have tried every damned kernel/ROM combo out there. Stock rooted, etc... on my third phone and they have all experienced the same problems. Different batteries as well both factory stock and aftermarket. At this point I am just waiting for LG to do something. If not when the SGS II comes out I will just get that and demand a refund from T-Mobile for selling me this wonderful brick of a phone.
Mine always locks up when in browser visiting xda forums. The progress bar hits 50% and everything freezes. I have to press power several times before it gets back to normal.
Guys,
Are you guys using CyanogenMod ? This was happening to me a lot on the stock ROM but since I upgraded to CyanogenMod, I've been having maybe 1 lock up per day but sometimes less then that. I'd really recommend trying it out if you aren't using it already.
My dog fell asleep on it and it must have overheated. I pulled the battery and it wouldn't boot past the CM7 lg boot screen. Luckily I had a nandroid of dark sinister 1.1. Bet it kept the pooch warm though.

Hello friends. Having lots of issues with my tablet.
A while ago i noticed that my tablet was running a bit sluggish, and the brightness of the screen was flickering when on auto-brightness. I didn't think anything of it, but the next morning when I unplugged it after it was charging all night, it was at 30% after a few minutes. Every time I plugged it in it would say "charged", but a few seconds after I unplugged it it would go back to 30%. It's gotten to the point where I can't use it because it won't turn on. It's plugged in, but I press the power button and the screen lights up for a half second and then dies (i'm assuming).
I've tried other cables, etc, anyone have any ideas? I haven't been able to use my tablet the past 2 days because of this.
Sounds like it's time to RMA...

Was afraid of this...Kinda was hoping it would be a software issue
Think they'll care if I rooted it?
Rooting it would not cause this and I'd get in to a massive argument with anyone that claimed otherwise.

Mine also was having the same issue. I searched high and low for a fix and finally came across a thread here on XDA that suggested deleting a corrupted jpg image that is created by the default camera 'Camera Awesome'. The corrupt jpg image sends the media scanner into an endless loop that taxes the CPU nonstop. The folder location is Android/data/com.smugmug.android.cameraawesome. I would delete any subfolders also. Hope this does the trick for you. Another tip is to stop the Blake_wakelock wakelock created by the Shield Wireless Controller which drains your Wi-Fi continually. Download the 'Disable Service' app from the google play store and once it is installed scroll over to the system apps and long click the 'SHIELD Wireless Controller Service'. From there you can disable the 'BlakeManagerService'. You can always turn it back on if and when you need to use it but that will stop your wakelocks for now. Hope everything works out for you. I was having the same trouble as you but was determined to figure it out as I did not want to send mine back cause it is my first tablet and has a lot of potential. Let me know how it goes.
Thanks for the suggestion, but the problem is I can't get it to turn on at all. Oh well, my replacement has already shipped and gets here Monday
Mine as well
Mine was working fine for 4 days. Set it down then went to power on to read book and nothing. I take it I have no recourse but to call Newegg and RMA?
So I've had my 16gb Tablet for a few days. Upon first power up, I ran through all the updates, including 5.0. When all the updates were done, I did a complete reset of the system to get Lollipop nice and fresh.
I've noticed that a few days ago, I left the tablet on my nightstand at about 50%, the next afternoon it was completely dead. I didn't think much of it, thinking maybe a program went crazy and sucked it dry. It happens.
Yesterday I left it on my bed at 64%, a few hours later I went to use it and it was powered off. At least I thought it was powered off. I'm noticing this unit might have bad buttons, as they are really squishy and don't have a lot of feedback for the up volume and power. So after pressing the crap out of the power button, it seemed to power back up. It greeted me to showing about 60% battery. Ok, that was weird, but not the end of the world. I plug it in to charge to 1005%.
Last night, I unplugged it at 100% and left it on my computer desk. Just now (next morning) I went to flip open the cover and it wouldn't turn on. I try hitting power and nothing. I hold the power down for about 20 seconds and it finally powers on. It boots up to 48% battery. Now keep in mind that I didn't do anything to it last night when I unplugged it. As a matter of fact, I didn't open apps, but I made sure I swiped all open cards away so nothing was running.
Sorry for the long post, but I want all the details here.
A couple questions:
Anyone else having random sleep issues where it won't wake up? I thought a lot was resolved going to lollipop?
Anyone have issues with soft sloppy buttons with no travel or click on the side? This is my second unit and I thought the first one had better buttons..
I'm having the same issue. Once it goes to sleep, sometimes it randomly just shuts down on its own. When I leave it on overnight, it's almost guaranteed to be off in the morning. Since I've come to work today, it's already automatically shut down twice. What the heck is going on?

It was the first thing I checked, and yes, it's disabled. I did a reset of my device yesterday and I've only had one random shutdown thus far. Not ideal, but still an improvement....
You need RMA, Please read this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=56907689
Same story for me, tablet was defective, battery drain even in airplane mode with no application installed. If your tablet do this, don't lose time and change it.
I've just purchased one and it's happening exactly the same, it happens constantly, also the battery drain is considerable.
I'm in Lollipop, and I've already done a coupe of factory reset.
Does anyone know if this can be repaired somehow? Or I'll have to return it...
Thanks!

Never requested a RMA to NVIDIA, are they fast? I've bought the tablet in Amazon, I have doubts yo who should I request it.
Thanks
So you should request amazon, unless Nvidia offer you a direct replacement in their forums.
Quick question. Does everyone here experiencing shutdowns have a case with an auto wake/sleep feature?
I too have this issue. Auto off is disabled.
I tried going back to gingerbread and the power issue is non-existent. Once I do all the updates to Lollipop the issue returns. Think it's an issue with the rom, since gingerbread works flawlessly.
I have both a skin and one with auto wake and my k1 has been shutting down on its own even with just tye skin on it.
Phone is an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S1 (technically a Captivate something or other, 897 or somesuch?) which has one of those PacROM sets for android 4.4 on it. (I will post exact specifics if needed in followup but the battery is dead AGAIN thanks to this)
For several months now the phone has started turning itself on at varying times. Sometimes its the same time every night, then maybe it will change to a different time later. I've seen it happen (having been sitting awake late at night to see it bling on in the charger surprising me) and can't figure out how - nothing is changed vs when it wasn't doing this before. I know it's doing it all the time now because my battery keeps ending up DEAD when I shut the phone off fully charged for when I later need it, only to find all the sudden it's on zero yet again.
There are no set alarms of any kind waking it up, i'm not aware of any PacROM feature and didn't set or change ANYTHING. The phone worked fine the first 9 months before starting to act wierd. I've installed next to nothing on the phone since then either.
When the phone powers up it doesn't do anything at all - just sits at the main menu and drains battery until it has no battery left. It doesn't act like it's loading anything, or doing virus stuff or that. If I catch it in the middle of a powerup and take the battery out, it wont retry that night though.
How do I narrow down what is happening or causing this to occur??
Yesterday, 10 minutes before a major interview, my rog phone 5S locked up while reading a PDF. It froze for 5 min before rebooting itself. It responded to no input from me at all, not even attempts to get to the bootloader. When it started back up, nothing worked without crashing. I powered it off and switched to my old Pixel 4 XL to do the interview, which worked out fine. I then went back to my 5S and tried to get it working. At first it was fine and I could make and receive calls, but I could only receive texts. I couldn't send them. I left it be for a while longer and then it started rebooting on its own at random. At some point in this, texting started working again and it was fine for a few hours till I went to sleep. However, during the night it started rebooting at random, constantly waking me up. I turned it off, but that didn't stop it. It would turn itself on and reboot. I got next to no sleep till I buried it in my dresser and clothes. I did a reset last night, before going to bed, and I thought that had fixed it, but clearly it didn't do anything except cause me a **** load of unnecessary work.
I went to file for an RMA just now. I provided the serial and ASUS said they won't honor it because it's an international model and has to be returned to the country it was bought in. I have no idea where it's from. I assume China and I can't read Chinese to do any of that, much less know where I'd even go to start that process. It's an expensive phone and I'm without a job right now. I don't know what to do.
I've had nothing but problems with this damned phone since day 1 and I'm sick of it. It's awful. The ROG Phone 3, which I also have, is only slightly less problematic. At least it never did this. I only have it for the gaming controller at this point and I'm gonna get a new phone once a phone comes out with the new Immortalis GPU.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I want to pot on the ROG Phone 5 subreddit, but they are restricted and IDK how long it'll take to get approved. The last restricted subreddit I applied to took 5 months.
