Looks like Samsung will launch their 5.3-inch smartphone-tablet earlier than expected. The Korean giant has confirmed that Galaxy Note will be launched this month starting with European countries. Big launch events are scheduled in Germany, UK, France and other European countries.
Meanwhile, Samsung is also preparing to launch the Galaxy Note in its home country. However, the difference between the local and the international version will be the inclusion of LTE. The Korean version should be launched sometime in November.

Holy crap. I didn't know it would be out so soon
Best phone in the world bar none! Puts every other phone to shame hardware wise...
It will work with Att bands but knowing stupid Samsung they will block you from getting a warranty if your American just like they did with the Galaxy SII i9100.
If I can find a way to get it with a warranty in the U.S. this will be my next phone

Looking at the spec sheet, it will support AT&T 3g bands.

I had Dell streak for nearly an year. Loved the phone so much that inspite of owing a SGS II , I still miss my streak.
Streak easily fits all pant pockets and I have rarely used a carrying pouch.
Note is shorter than streak
Dell Streak ---------------152.9 x 79.1 x 10 mm and weights 220g
Samsung Galaxy Note 146.85 x 82.95 x 9.65 mm and weights 178g
I will love to own a note if it comes with ATT frequency

The note looks really good. Though not sure there's a real Market for mid sized Tablets... Why not just get the sgs2??

folks at the IFA said the Note scores somewhere in the 3700+ in qudrant and the one in the video barely scored 2500

Hoping this will be my next phone. Bought the Dell Streak AWS and sort of regret it. Not the size, just the phone itself. I love my Galaxy Tab (phone enabled) but there is room in my purse for this phone and I WANT IT !!!!

variable within a certain range is understandable but a drop of well over 1k points is questionable. Also GSMarena's results show much better number than SGSII but they didn't show any quadrant results

I've recently discovered Huawei and their larger-than-standard phablets. Before now, I only wished for a 7"-8" tablet with a cellular radio... Now I come to find out... It's a thing.
I've just started looking into how to get one of these behemoths into my hands... Sadly it seems I may have to ditch Sprint (CDMA) to do so... But to realize such a huge phone... I'd do it in a second.
Can anyone tell me about Huawei's supply chain into the USA? How do I go about buying one?
Also, the devices I'm looking at seem to be a bit on the old side... The Mediapad X2 being the most current. Is this correct? Am I not seeing something new about to hit the scene?
Educate me. I'm kinda over using strictly what my carrier says I can.

The X2 is over a year old but is sill the king of the 7 inch phablet. We have roms for it and help if you need it. It doesn't matter which model you get as far as LTE goes because all models will only give you 3G or HSPA+.

Awesome! Thanks for this reply. Honestly, I'm kinda glad I'm late to this party. I imagine I can pick up the x2, which is still an upgrade for me, for less than premium price.
Bummer on the GSM only thing, but again, I'm not sure it matters that much. I do stream a LOT of Google music via unlimited 4g LTE, so that may hurt... So torn. Maybe I score a hotspot for the car... Hmm.

Hspa is fast enough for any streaming music or video. I had LTE with my previous big phone, Xperia Z Ultra and I don't miss that at all. This monster 16:10 display is amazing but the phone is not perfect.
Some of us have issues with the GPS suddenly not working until a restart of the phone. Still not sale to figure out what triggers that issue.
Also 5Ghz wifi is much weaker than my other devices and the same seems to apply to Bluetooth.
No deal breakers for me but just thought I would mention it.
The only thing I miss is NFC really

That is fantastic news. Is HSPA similar/equal to a 3G CDMA network? Or maybe a middle step between 3 and 4G?

How prevalent is this issue? Out of say, 100 users, how many seem to be affected? Or is it not quantifiable in these terms? Not a deal breaker (unless I'm severely affected, I suppose...)

Hmm. When the first 7" Samsung tablet came out, I worked at Sprint. We all joked about using it as a phone and held it up to our faces... It felt a bit silly. I was thinking I might use a Jawbone for phone on my imaginary tablet... I guess the question is: how weak is it?

No big deal for me. I've never found a good use for NFC. What did you use it for?
The final hurdle (I think) is T-mo. What kind of deal will I get from them... Guess I need to go talk to them.

You won't get LTE on the M3 either as it doesn't have any of the US LTE bands.

While x2 still being a perfect device for me, you also may consider zenfone 3 ultra, if you could afford it

For google play, m3 is a tablet and many apps will not be able to install like whatsapp, periscope, etc because are apps for use on phone

If you buy an international version they have the cellular radio enabled and HSPA+ is more than fast enough for everything. I haven't had LTE in 4 year and I don't need it.

If you don't care about size then yes, its better than the Mediapad X2, it won't be as fast as the latest stuff however like the Zenphone 3 Ultra. But its definitely fast enough for anything you need and the screen is big and gorgeous.

You can also take a look at the Huawei Honor Note 8. I think the 128G model is similar in price as the X2. I have both and the 6.6 inch Note 8 is about 1 cm narrower than the X2 and about the same in length. It has a better screen, better CPU and more RAM and eMMC storage.

A quick googling shows only a couple places to buy the honor at the moment, eBay or aliexpress. Being my first foray into international phones, is this fairly common? Am I missing an obvious source for purchasing?

Unfortunately that's the case now. I live in Hong Kong so it's easy for me to buy it. I think the Note 8 is currently for domestic (China ) only. I bought mine for around US 450, just to give you an idea.

I am in HUGE need of a new phone now & im trying to decide if I should get the Oneplus 6 for the summer or wait for the Pixel 3 XL or iPhone X. If I should get the Oneplus 6, Is it worth Importing the avengers limited edition? I live in the U.S.A (It looks really nice.)
And if by chance, can I set the language to be English & remove/disable some apps that aren't in english?

I would suggest that you wait for a little while, oneplus will surely launch the carbon glass version as they launched the white op5 after the star wars edition. Importing the avengers version would mean no warranty plus it will cost a fortune.

I imported from AliExpress it was $729 I just received it today and ordered on the 22nd.

I'm using OP6 now and it is a great if not the best phone to use. But you can try to wait and get Pixel 3XL (forget about iPhone X). The camera and audio quality are much better on Pixel IMO. And of course it has latest stock android P system.

Oneplus 6 seems to have some quality control issues in Asian exports, but US and European phones seem to be ok. Definitely very few complaints about the Silk White limited edition version. So either get that or the Avengers phone - I imagine that QA for that would be even better than for Silk White.
At the same time, Silk White is a stunningly beautiful phone. The Avenger's looks a little meh.

The link I gave is the European model. The Netherlands got it much earlier. ? All models are the same from everything that I've read.

Belsimpel.nl offers sim free European model and deliver almost everywhere in Europe.

however it's a Chinese model. Most likely won't be able to flash Global ROM on it... but the price is very tempting!

I also didn't like the green too much, but the blue version looks amazing on all reviews no matter that on oneplus' webpage the picture of the blue looks ugly. For the camera I agree that probably it won't be the absolute best but I wouldn't look at Oneplus anyways if the camera was my top priority. However I think it will be updated and it will be top-of-the-line. Oneplus is the king of updates and UX. The screen is the best, stereo speakers, fastest wireless charging. I also like that they removed the motorized camera tbh(i know this is subjective, but still). The curve of the screen is not something that I appreciate, but also I get used to this( I had the Vivo Nex 3, Huawei Mate 30 Pro) and don't mind in the end.
Some things I like better on the Find X2 Pro(the back finish for example and the faster wired charging), but OnePlus 8 Pro gets my vote because the community is beyond comparison so we will get all kinds of things to play with over here at XDA. +good battery +fastest wireless charging +the best screen +great camera +Oxygen(btw Find X2 Pro is similar) +best updates.
In the end -> I placed my pre-order of the blue 256GB model and hopefully will get it by the end of next week.

Hi, sadly I don't. I waited for two weeks (6 days for it to be in stock) and they still didn't send it despite having it in stock (despite their adverts saying thar they send phones 7 days a week until 11pm etc) and I cancelled the order and bought a P40 Pro instead.

I’ve ordered the orange variant from Belsimpel.nl, shipped Friday so hope to receive sometime this week (UK). Took a few days to get through fraud check as I’m not in the Netherlands but appreciate that is for my safety also. By the time i got through the checks it said 2-4 days to get stock in but they actually shipped immediately. Not sure if they put one to the side for me but doubt it!

I've took the gamble too. Have just ordered the black from belsimpel.nl
Looked at all the alternatives, and although some of the China ones were cheaper, they were all just 256gb. I would have liked dual sim but the chance of the phone not supporting android auto and/or wifi calling (plus only one year warranty - and the possibility of customs charges etc) was too much of a gamble. None of the Chinese merchants would commit.
Hopefully, this will arrive swiftly... nice black 512Gb single SIM for just over €1,204 including shipping. Reckon that even when(if) it turns up in UK it'll be similar price for 512Gb.
Ordering, like you say, was a bit of a miff... but I'll take that for security purposes.

Just for info, the tracking on mine was stuck, it still said it was waiting to be picked up by the courier for 3 days after it 'shipped'. It wasn't though it was in transit and arrived within 3 working days

Arrived 2nd Day after shipping. Has Android Auto, WiFi calling (yet to test), so currently quite happy

Having a new CPU and a camera sensor used only in 15 devices surely does not help. Combine that with the fact that xiaomi products are more and more secure and bootloader unlock times tend to increase and also the fact that they are not easily release source code, I tend to think that it will be an obscure device regarding development. Or it could be the next poco f1. Or oneplus 1/3. I have hope I'm terribly wrong and the development will be great because I'm thinking about buying the device. But then again there are a lot of xiaomi devices left behind. Being a android 10 device also will not help regarding custom recoveryes like twrp.
Le: because of the above I'm reluctant buying another xiaomi device. And pocophone f1 still sounds like a good idea.

they're releasing code right away and its a beast of a phone so more people should have it

Just ordered my Poco X3. I think for the price, it's really an unbeatable package all things considered. Here's to hoping the custom development will be popular like Poco F1 is!

Really hope there will be roms like for x2.
I took the chance and ordered x3 from Aliexpress because at this price I think it's worth the gamble .
I hope many people will think like me and we will have some development running

After all the possible discounts I managed to get 128GB version for 152€ (180$) I think it's worth the risk...for the price it's a beast

The fact that it's getting a global release, including in India, bodes well for development. The launch has had a huge media campaign and the specs are unbeatable for the price. And kernel sources already released, hopefully without anything missing.

How did you get such a good price? I used a code to get 10 USD off but it is far from your price.
In additin, I agree with you, the low price make it a good gamble.
180 euro / 215 USD seems more right but even that is crazy low

I got some discounts for my AliExpress account + my bank has some good cashback for orders on Ali so after all that it was this.
It should arrive in about an hour according to tracking the shipping was crazy fast

Thay sounds awesome. Even for my discounted price I think it is a good deal.
My phone is not even shipped yet I do not think it will arrive within 7 days as promised.

Mine is not shipped as well yet
Since it is shipped to Israel from China I guess I have at least one month of waiting...
At least I hope there will be some nice roms by the time I will get it

Did you order from Aliexpress - China warehouse?

I ordered from Ali, Spain warehouse... according to tracking it's already near me but will be delivered on Monday/tuesday

No I ordered it from shopee during 9/9 flash sale and it is from global mi store China. According to my tracking number it is already shipped out

They only started shipping today, so unless you live in Spain, next to the warehouse it is nowhere remotely close to you!

i ordered mine from france at 148.01€ in 64gb and i hope that the recovery and roms are coming soon ! I like pixel experience rom !

Not true, I've got mine since yesterday. It was shipped on 9th of September.
I did order it from Ali and I did request it from the Spanish warehouse, I'm from Portugal.

Before have custom rom, I want root Step by Step
I will receive mine this monday, ship on mi store france
I already create group and channel for poco x3 if anyone want come but it's empty for now
