Stop any unwanted call or text right away in a snap!
BLIST is the app to block all voice calls and texts* from a black-list of numbers you choose (including private numbers). In addition, you can mute any notification from these numbers and delete them from your call log. For your privacy, you can hide BLIST itself from your launcher. You will set a secret number to be dialed** and access to the app.
All BLIST activities can be monitored in its activity log or through the notification center.
* received texts will be charged by your carrier, if applicable with your plan, even if blocked by BLIST
** it is not a phone call, no cost associated to this number!
If you find a malfunction please do not leave one star, the app is still a beta ... report problems and suggestions to the developer, it will surely be very welcome!

although the message doesn't appear in the the default messaging app, sms popup https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.everythingandroid.smspopup is able to intercept the messages from blacklisted contacts listed in Blist.

Stock Message App Pop-up

In the settings for the stock message app, it says you can turn on a setting to make messages pop up on any screen. I enabled this but it doesn't seem to work. Am I not understanding what this is supposed to do?
Basically, I'm looking for the same pop-up when a new text arrives like with Go SMS or Handcent. I would use Go SMS but every time you wipe, you need to re-pay for the theme you purchase.

I use something simple.. Textra. Never use the stock messaging app, there is always something about it.

It works for me no problem, in the stock app. It looks like this.
It will pop up notify if you are not in the texting app. Same with dialer. If someone calls it pops up in a similar way. Very handy for when you are in the middle of something.

Help: Multiple SMS in same Thread

Hi,
I have this issue with Huawei 6 Plus default messaging app.
Some SMS i receive from different numbers appear in the same thread. For example i have some SMS from different Banks, they appear in one thread. Similarly i have SMS from different carriers, appear in one thread. This happens to only non-numbered SMS senders, like banks etc. Regular Contacts are fine. I Tried 3rd party apps, but still i get multiple sms in same threads

I am also facing same issue. Did you find any solution to it?

No. Not yet. Very annoying. Waiting for stable lollipop update and expecting to fix it

In your default messaging app, go to settings, then in general tab(the first tab), uncheck/turnoff the first option (Archive info messages).

So it isn't really a notification, and it's pretty annoying. Is there any way short of actually updating to get rid of this?
Similarly, when there's a N in App Info to show that there's an update available in any given Samsung app, is there a way to clear it without clicking update?
And while I'm here, is there anyway to modify text in other apps? It bothers me that the Phone app has "Recents". That's not a word. Why the hell is it showing up everywhere

Recents is kind of a newly accepted word. It is the better choice than the more verbose "Recent Call Activity."

"Recent" is a singular term. The context here is the body of individual calls. Each of them are recent but all of them are "recents." If we were just talking about the log, it would be recent activity. But the call-out here is to each individual call and the collection of them.

I'm still pretty sure that's grammatically incorrect. It's referring to recent calls, therefore recent works, no?
Point is, is there any way to change the string of text somehow? Or indeed more to my original question, get rid of the Update popup?

Question The messaging app notifications not showing up on the lock screens AOD help needed?

Must have toggled some setting that I can't figure out and now my message app notification icon is not showing up on AOD All other apps like missed calls or FB msg are showing up normally

They don't show on AOD, but what about the lock screen?
Is it all your text messages or just a specific one? I'd look under Settings>Notifications. Look around here, maybe you ticked something in here.
Also, you can try wiping the Messaging app as well. Your text messages will still be there, just have to set the settings up in the app again.

Thats what i mean they don't show on the lock screen I've searched under Settings>Notifications and everywhere else like 25x and can't find whats causing it.
It started after I setup a pattern lock screen and then deleted it and set it back to swipe to open

Is it these options you have maybe changed to hiddel

If you use face unlock and give it authorization to go straight to the home screen without swiping it hides all the notifications on the lockscreen and makes little icons instead
