Question The messaging app notifications not showing up on the lock screens AOD help needed? - Google Pixel 7 Pro

Must have toggled some setting that I can't figure out and now my message app notification icon is not showing up on AOD All other apps like missed calls or FB msg are showing up normally
Any ideas?

They don't show on AOD, but what about the lock screen?
Is it all your text messages or just a specific one? I'd look under Settings>Notifications. Look around here, maybe you ticked something in here.
Also, you can try wiping the Messaging app as well. Your text messages will still be there, just have to set the settings up in the app again.

Thats what i mean they don't show on the lock screen I've searched under Settings>Notifications and everywhere else like 25x and can't find whats causing it.
It started after I setup a pattern lock screen and then deleted it and set it back to swipe to open

Is it these options you have maybe changed to hiddel

If you use face unlock and give it authorization to go straight to the home screen without swiping it hides all the notifications on the lockscreen and makes little icons instead

Hangouts - notifications off message

Ever since I had to reinstall all of my apps, this message appears every single time I start a new message, and I am not sure why. Has anyone else seen this? More importantly, does anyone know how to fix it?

This is what I'm seeing...
If I open Hangouts to the main screen with either the contact list or hangout/conversation list, I can click my name at the top left of the screen to open up a menu. There is a listing for "Settings" at the second position up from the bottom of the menu. If I tap the account/username listed in the next menu on the next screen which appears, then I see a global settings list for this user account including "Hangout Notifications" options for "Hangouts messages & invites" as well as "Video calls." You can turn on/off notifications here and it should affect all the hangouts/conversations for that account.
Next, if I open an existing conversation (such as the new? hangout/conversation in which you saw the red notice message), at the top right of the screen there is a menu button (three stacked dots). I can tap the menu button and choose the menu listing for "People & options." Here I can turn on/off notifications for this specific hangout/conversation. This setting here is likely the cause of the red notice message you've seen.
I hope some of that information helps.
Settings was the first place I looked. Went through all 3 accounts as well as SMS. I don't have notifications shut off anywhere.
You check in settings>apps>all>hangouts to see if you are set to receive notifications from the app?
Yup. Nothing out of the ordinary.

REALLY Annoying Gear S plugin notification after Galaxy S8 Oreo Update

How do I permanently get rid of this uninformative and really annoying notification that is cluttering my notification bar??
I keep swiping it away but it always comes back.

I have tried everything I can to get rid of this permanently and I cannot figure it out. If you go into the notification settings I have everything for this plug-in turned OFF but it still displays which makes no sense. As well you can now mute the notification for up to 2 hours under Oreo but yet you can't actually permanently shut it off not that I have seen. But the fact that you can shut it off for 2 hours tells me you can shut it off forever but maybe you have to be rooted.
U can swipe the notification to the left and tap on the gear icon. From there you can turn off the "allow notification" and its gone. As for "drawing over other app" notification you cant turn it off unless you use third party app from play store. I use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.easy4u.ncleaner and it works
I solved it!
Get the free app AutoNotification and set it up to block this lame notification. Wait until it shows up and then use the app to setup a block and pick the annoying notification and.. bye bye!

There's no option to turn it off. However there's an option for app badge but that's not the one.

How to stop (SIM) pop-up messages from keeping the screen on indefinitely?

Hello everyone,
In my country, carriers would send those annoying pop-up messages (I think they're called class-0 messages?). This has been the case for a couple of years and they won't stop no matter what you do. Anyway, it wasn't a big deal with my previous phones; I just learned to ignore them.
However, with my A30s (which I've had for a few months), I'm facing a critical issue where the screen will turn on for the message and never turn off unless I close the pop-up or manually turn it off by pressing the power button. There are basically two types of those messages:
1) Ones that show up after a call is ended (very annoying but avoidable if I remember to close the message after ending the call):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2) Ones that show up randomly (sometimes at night while I'm asleep. Screen stays on overnight and drains the battery):
I couldn't even tell which app is responsible for displaying those messages. I checked the permissions for the messages app and the phone app, disabled the "draw over other apps" permission for the messages app, installed Google's messages app and set it as default (since I can't uninstall or disable the main one) but the problem persisted. I also checked the permissions for the "SIM toolkit" app but there were none. I tried disabling the notifications but the option was grayed out.
Does anyone know how to get rid of these messages?
Note: I want to avoid rooting the device or installing a custom rom.

Wake screen for notifications

Two questions regarding "turn on screen for notifications" functionality on stock firmware OOS 11.0.8.12.KB05BA
In setting Display - Ambient display there is a 'New notifications' option, this option works only with Horizon Light
Is there a possibility to wake screen for notifications, but without color stripes on the sides?
Using search in settings you can find 'Wake screen for notifications' option.
Even if 'Ambient display' in setting is OFF, 'Wake screen for notifications' option can be turned ON, but screen doesn't wakes for new notifications.
Is it "an old" menu option that developers forgot to delete or am I missing some options to make it work?
My goal is to find a way to turn screen on for new notifications without fancy Horizon Light effects.
I'm using an app called Wake Up Screen and it works perfectly for me.

thank for your suggestion
for now I've decided to stick with aodNotify
it doesn't wake up the screen, but does a much better job (in my case) - emulates LED-light that I was missing so much
at first, while setting up this app, it's on top in statistic draining battery, but the next day it disappears from the list
