Stuck in boot animation. Can't get into recovery or fastboot. - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently updated Magisk from 16.0 to 17.1. The installer asked to reboot after finishing up. After rebooting, however, the phone gets stuck on boot animation. I've tried to let it run all night and I've tried charging/discharging a few times. The bootloader is still unlocked (the opened lock icon shows up under the Google logo on boot). I can't get into recovery/fastboot mode: Holding power+volume down turns on the phone but gives a black screen with backlight on. My computers also don't recognize the phone. I haven't found any similar issues here while searching so I am at a loss on how to fix it.
Possibly related: Charging the phone has been weird for a few months: the charging LED indicator only turns on when the phone screen was on. It seemed to charge slower compared to previously and the OS doesn't recognize that the phone is charging.

With the phone off, hold the volume down button and connect the phone to your computer. This may force the phone into fastboot mode.

Thanks for the advice! Although that didn't immediately work (it still booted to a black screen w/ backlight on), I tried one or two more times to boot holding down volume down + power with the phone unplugged. I got lucky somehow and it finally booted to Fastboot. From there, still neither my MacBook nor my Windows computer recognized my phone (nothing in device manager). I booted to TWRP, and saw that Magisk had .zip's of previous versions stored in /sdcard/MagiskManager. I flashed the last working version, 16.0, wiped Cache and Dalvik, rebooted and finally got through boot animation.
Time to backup!

Help, please! Bricked Tab solutions?

Greetings!
The tab is DANY GENIUS TAB G4.
The tab was rooted with KingRoot android app and bootloader was accessed. But it got stuck in bootloader. My assumption is that I may have selected fastboot mode by mistake. But nothing happened after it, just stuck on the same bootloader screen. The battery died and tab didn't boot again in any way, nor did it showed to be charging.
One of the solutions related to charging it for a while worked to some extent as it finally showed charging screen. But upon booting up, only the LCD turned on with nothing but dark screen (no logo, nothing) - and that too only till the power button was held down. However, the bootloader was accessible. But in bootloader, nothing seemed to work. There are three options in the bootloader:
- System Recovery
- Fastboot mode
- Reboot
I tried entering system recovery but when I selected it, the tab would turn off immediately. I then tried selecting "Reboot", the tab again turned off immediately with no screen/logo or whatsoever. I did not try connecting it to PC at this point.
Could it be that ROM has been damaged? I already found and downloaded its drivers and ROM on PC. The tab hasn't booted since last time nor gets detected by PC, so I'm once again leaving its battery to be depleted for hours and try charging again. I plan to reinstall the ROM on it, if it does gets detected by PC.
My question is,
1. Is there anything else I should try first?
2. Any way to make PC detect it if it doesn't gets detected next time I boot into bootloader/flash mode?
3. Why isn't bootloader working?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Here's the list of things that I tried before charging it worked:
1. Hold power button for 1 minute while on charging, as well as without charging.
2. Hold power + volume up (bootloadder combination) for 60 seconds. While on charging + without charging.
3. Connected to computer. Repeated step 2 and 1 along with it.
4. Flash a bright light on its light sensor while holding power button. Also try volume down or up button along with it. As well as on charging + without charging.
5. The charging one was actually tried before, but it only worked when I left it for about 10+ hours without charging and then to charge till the charging screen showed up on its own.
More Information:
The tab was first Factory Reset from the settings, then rooted with the KingRoot 'android app' (not PC). But since there was no SuperSU or related app automatically installed, SuperSU was installed separately. Upon installing SuperSU, a messsage appeared saying something like,"Binary not updated".
The bootloader was accessed to wipe cache partition. It took sometime so it was left alone. It rebooted normally, so assuming it was successful, it was booted into bootloader again.
It was at this point that bootloader got stuck, and I assume that it may have to do with selecting fastboot mode.
Resolved!
It's the third day, and the tab was once again left for its battery to be depleted for around 15 hours and then plugged in to charge for about an hour. It once again finally showed charging screen, but screen would turn on with no logo or anything else (same as before). Thou, before charging screen showed up, tab was removed from charging for a little while this time.
The tab was left to charge for about half an hour before charging screen showed up and then booted again. This time it booted normally and was working fine!
For those who may encounter the same problem, keep trying for at least a week before finally giving up. Here's a few suggestion that some people gave me to try:

3. Play dumb. If it's on warranty, do a warranty claim. They won't be able to tell it's rooted since it doesn't boot up and nothing works.

[RESOLVED] TWRP stuck on Downloading do not turn off target - Reboot does not work

Edit: Resolved
I flashed a nightly release of LineageOS and it's working like before!
Software
TWRP 3.1
LineageOS 14.1
Magisk 18.1
Magisk Manager 7.0
Rooted (unsure)
Background
Google Pay recently declined contactless, so I tried re-enabling it with Magisk and changing device fingerprint, to no avail. I rebooted into recovery to install Magisk Canary, by running the magisk-uninstaller.zip. As soon as I swiped right to run it, it rebooted into the turquoise "Downloading... do not turn off target" screen (with no text in the corner). Every attempt to boot into system yielded this.
Troubleshooting Attempts
Holding volume down + power, reboots to Samsung S7 screen then quickly back to the same "Downloading..." screen
Holding volume down + power, then as soon as screen flashes black quickly holding volume up + power goes into TWRP
Cleared cache in TWRP and tried rebooting, same results
Other Information
I can still enter TWRP and see my files via USB on my computer
Even after phone is powered off and I recharge it, the screen goes back to the turquoise "Downloading..." screen. Powering on is the same..
Questions
Does anyone have suggestions as to what I can try next? Or should I create a backup while I can, then reinstall TWRP or another ROM?
Thanks!

If the rom zip is on your sd card and you can boot into TWRP, you can flash the rom again, do not wipe anything! and all your apps files etc should be still there when the phone reboots. It's the same process as updating lineage over the existing build.

Help! Stuck on TWRP loading. I can't even turn off the phome!

So I have Galaxy S7 (Flat). It had installed TWRP with Magisk on stock Android. I decided to install LineageOS (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-q-s-lineageos-with-microg-for-samsung-s7-flat-edge.3921094/) (clean install using TWRP) and it installed successfully, everything was fine, I've turned my phone off and on few times and system was booting without any problems.
But then I decided to boot into TWRP (using key combination) to install magisk and... it's stuck on loading screen forever.
I can't even turn it off ! And my phone is getting hotter and hotter. Please help !
I can't turn it off, because simply holding power button doesn't do anything.
I can restart it by holding power + volume down ,but it just opens TWRP again.
I've read I could boot into Maintenance Boot Mode ,but it requires to turn off a phone, which I'm unable to do.
Only thing I am able to do is to boot into Download Mode, but it doesn't change anything (still cant turn off phone in this mode)
Should I try to disassembly the phone and take out the battery manually? I don't really see any other option.
Did I bricked my phone ?
@edit
I have backup of stock system made by TWRP, but it doesn't change anything as I cant use TWRP.
I didn't install LineageOS custom recovery.
Ok, so I left phone overnight to deplete the battery. And it didn't work ! I thought that battery is dead and phone is off, but the moment I've plugged the power cord it automatically turned on into TWRP screen, like a zombie !
However I've solved the problem. As I was able to get phone into Download Mode (by holding power+volume down+home) I used Odin. I've installed newest Odin on PC, Samsung USB drivers and flashed the newest TWRP tar. Although it was scary, I was almost sure I've bricked my phone. Adb/fastboot were not detecting the phone.
And after re-flashing TWRP everything works fine. Also LineageOS booted like a charm, it stay intact.
So, it seems that installing LineageOS somehow corrupted my TWRP, despite that I un-ticked the option to install LineageRecovery ,so technically it shouldn't mess with it at all.
Anyway, problem solved.

Can't enter recovery mode anymore (TWRP)

Hi, I don't know what is happening, but I've been having issues with my phone. I was trying to enter recovery and pressed the button combination for fastboot instead. After that, I tried to get out of fastboot, but it kept going back to fastboot. I noticed holding up for a couple of seconds would boot me into my OS. When I try to enter recovery, the screen goes black and it restarts the phone. It will just keep going in a loop if I hold the buttons. My phone was rooted with magisk and I uninstalled to see if that would help, but it didn't.
I installed an update(I use lineage OS) out of curiosity to see if it would boot to recovery. It booted to fastboot, but after restarting and holding the recovery button combo it booted to twrp and installed the update, then restarted. Now my stupid mistake made my phone unusable. Everything is the same, except Lineage is stuck at the boot screen now. Sometimes it restarts to fastboot, but other times it stays there for possibly infinity.
I don't know what to do. All help is appreciated?
TL;DR Fixed, I think my volume down button was stuck.
Nevermind, I flashed with miflash and still had the problem, then for some reason it worked, but only once. I removed my phone from the case and found that it was booting to os. It is still kind of hard to enter the recovery. I think hitting volume up was cancelling the volume down which was stuck, or something. Now I'm pissed cause I wasted so much time on nothing

Not able to get into EDL or Fastboot

Hi Everyone,
Recently I have unlocked the bootloader and flashed twrp after upgrading to OOS 13 after that I have not able to access any storage(including OTG) so I had changed the format of disk. Now its stuck is bootloader and show qualcomm icon when starting and just keep on trying to boot(stuck at logo not a loop or anything). I am not able to get into the EDL mode or fastboot for that matter any suggestions
Video is uploaded to show the icon it continues to normal oneplus logo boot and stays there
can you hold vol - and power with it unplugged until the screen goes black, then fast as lightning hold both volumes and plug it in? I used to have this device and I'm trying to remember what I did to get out of that.
I had always waited till the phone got discharged and then tried again EDL used to work when I had the flashboot but now it not a possibility it resumes into the unlocked bootloader alert (sometimes press power to pause or continue to boot) and then logo not matter which combo of the buttons I tried
If nothing works you can always take the back off and unplug the battery.
Doesn't discharging the phone will also do the same or are you suggesting me to go into edl by removing battery cover and plugging in like the old mediatek recovery method
Have you tried unplugging the device, using volume up and power to fully shut off the device, then wait a second, and switch to volume up and down, while plugging in? Important to keep it unplugged until going into EDL.
It's already fully shutoff when I discharge it to recover from the boot animation. The keys combo don't work at only power button work to continue or pause boot
