Hi, im new to A/B partitions and PIE. I was Using OnePlus 3T before this. I have few questions.
1. Can i restore Titanium backup apps+data from Oreo to PIE?
2. Can i use magisk modules from Oreo?
3. Which modules are you guys using?
I wouldn't restore app data from Oreo to Pie. Personally I'm just running stock rooted, nothing more nothing less
1. Yes, titanium backups can be restored without any problem
2. Depends on the module. Check the module if it's compatible/updated for Pie.
3. Google Framework so i can use Google Dialer/Phone app. I'm also using Viper4Android module

I have a rooted Nexus 5 on KitKat 4.4.2 , also installed Xposed Framework with several Modules (set up on my liking)
My question is: Can I (/ is it safe to) to backup the Xposed Framework with it's all Modules (with their settings) by Titanium Backup and then let's say after freshly flashing the KitKat 4.4.3, to restore them back and have it fully functional, like it was before or is it not safe to do and I have to Install and set them up, over again on the new rom (stock)?
I am sure a lot of people would like to know what to do in this case, but I haven't yet found the answer on this question.
Thanks.

The framework, no. But the Xposed Installer app, all the modules and their respective settings - yes. You do your titanium restore, open teh xposed app and then install the framework, then everything was as it was before.
only Modules?

So it is safe to Backup / Restore only the Modules (with their data/settings), but the Framework has to be downloaded and installed manually?
So after restore all the Modules (Gravity Box and so on.....) are going to have their settings set in a root level just fine ??
Thanks
Yes

Xposed modules are apks so you should see them in the list. I never have any issue with TB.

Hi,
this is my first time to ask for help because I can't find all the requirements and suggestions in time.
I have a OnePlus One with the following setup:
Code:
Android OS: 6.0.1
Cyanogen OS-Version: 13.1-ZNH2KAS1KN
CyanogenMod API-Level: Elderberry (5)
Android Securitypatch-Level: June 2016
Build Number: MHC19Q
rooted
Xposed Framework (mostly for Greenify)
This ROM is outdated and I want to change to LineageOS 14.1
Before I update I have some questions:
Can I flash the pico opengapps without problems?
I'd like to be able to play Pokemon Go again, so I need to install Magisk, any suggestions?
As far as I know there is no working solution for root + Xposed framework + Magisk + SafetyNet bypass
Should I use Greenify in root mode or switch to another app?
Can I use Titanium Backup to restore my app data after the update? I read something about that restoring apps after the update is dangerous, but if I install the apps through the play store and restore only the data?
I hope you can help me with some questions
Edit:
I solved it.
I backed everything up using Titanium Backup + SMS Backup/Restore + Slight Backup + TWRP Backup
Updated TWRP to 3.1.1.0
Wipe everything except Internal Storage
Flash LineageOS 14.1 --> Error 7 (E3003)
Downgraded TWRP to 3.1.0.0 + reboot
Flash LineageOS 14.1 --> OK
Flash open gapps pico
Flash Magisk v12
Installed wanted apps from Playstore + recovered data only with Titanium Backup
Everything is working fine.
Xposed framework doesn't exist for Android N
Magisk with proper configurations passes safetynet too. So I guess you can play Pokemon go.
No idea about Titanium backup but I wouldn't suggest you to overwrite data from a previous Android version. You are upgrading from Marshmallow to Nougat, it's not an OTA. So anything can go wrong.
Hello Everyone!
It's been a while since i surf in here, just wanted to give a tutorial about how to install Xposed Framework in this Redmi Note 5, check this out ( do with your own risk! backup is a must, tested in the latest Pixel Experience ROM)
Before you proceed, you need to have Magisk installed and make sure its working in your device. Now lets install Xposed.
First Step:
- Download EdXposed Installer.apk and EdXposed Magisk zip module Here
- Download RiruCore Magisk zip Module Here
Second Step:
- First, install the EdXposed Installer first.
- Then, Flash the RiruCore magisk module.
- Lastly, Flash the EdXposed Magisk module then reboot.
Third Step:
- Open the EdXposed app and see if the status is green, that means the xposed framework is now working on your device, and you can proceed to download and install xposed module you want. (Note: this is still in beta, so that means not all Xposed Module will work 100%, install with caution or you can check in Here to see the list of what working and what not so far.)
-Enjoy.
Sorry if some of you already know on how to do this, i just wanted to share it with you guys, since i haven't see any of similar thread like this.
Have a good day, hope this one helps :good:
needy guide
Thanks for that...
But..
If have ore supported xposed please share us.
!
Tried this on my whyred running Pixel Experience Pie ROM. Worked as expected. Of the modules I tested, some are working fine, some aren't. GravityBox developer is working on a Pie release, waiting for that!
No Xposed Installer.APK in FP.
This is better instructions:
Try type in Google
Install Xposed Framework & Modules on Android 9.0 Pie naldotech

What do you mean no apk?
You're right. My fault. I just looked at version v0.2.9.9_beta2 and not on the older one below it.
and how do you uninstall now?

I got OOS update for OB5 (currently I'm on OB4). I am using systemize magisk module to systemize Google Phone app, to use Call Screening.
If I update the firmware to OB5, would I lose all this config and would need to start from scratch or can I retain this current setup?
Thanks in advance

Disable all Magisk modules before updating and you can re enable them after the update is finished see this guide here for keeping root etc.

I wanted to install MIUI Notes app because it's so good as a notes app better than Google's for me. When I tried installing MIUI Notes app it said "App not installed".
System applications just can't install. Only do the Magisk module
