October update?? - Google Pixel 2 Questions & Answers

I bought pixel 2 from Germany anybody now why I don't get October update??

If you had previously been on the Android 9 beta programme you need to sign out of that before you will get the update.
Stupid, I know: you are already on the official Android 9 release, and the next beta will have its own programme (it won't roll over automatically), so there's no reason why you can't just get the update and no reason for Google to leave people enrolled. Nevertheless you remain on that beta programme until you do sign out and many people have reported not getting the October update until they sign out (even though they got the September one). I guess it's just an example of Google's carelessness.

Galaxy S8 G950U1 AQI1 September Update

Hey Guys.
Heard the news that samsung stated rolling out AQI1 update. I still don't see the OTA on my Galaxy s8 unlocked model. Did anyone from USA got the update ?
No, its not rolling out for the unlocked model yet.
Today was out
Nothing yet
Canada got aqi3 but its still labelled as august security patch.
Nothing yet on my unlocked G950U1.
Not on SamMobile firmware list yet either.
Anyone get this yet?
Nothing yet. I'm still in the Aug security patch. No bluebourne fix yet.
Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
Over the past few months, the update would come at th end of the month. So the June, July, and Aug patch was out the end of the month, but now here it is the 2nd week of October and no Sept update.
They next build you will be getting, if you are getting one for September is this. G950U1UEU1AQI1/G950U1OYM1AQI1/G950U1UEU1AQI1. The one currently being tested, which I think is an Oreo beta is, G950U1UEU1ZQIB/G950U1OYM1ZQIB/G950U1UEU1ZQIB. That Z before the QIB means beta.

Ever since the first blog posted the beta build number everyone's been all When do you think beta will be?! Beta, beta, beta...
After the disaster that was the Nougat beta with the idiots and dumb **** they'd post, not contributing anything I'd be real surprised if Samsung does that again

Dude, I remember the nougat beta with that dude posting child pornography. But they are going to have a beta. The US will probably get 7.1.1. And also, the beta will be late October to early November. And people are excited for it so they ask about it. Also from the looks of it, the G950U1 will also be in the beta. No promises.
Btw the dates were told to me by a friend at samsung.

Wear OS update

actually excited for this, as I miss seeing traffic/weather as a notification on my watch to help me with my morning/evening commute.
I am really excited for this release also, I just hope it doesn't take an extra two weeks to "roll out" to everyone. :fingers-crossed:

I believe so: https://9to5google.com/2018/03/15/google-wear-os-smartwatches-update-list/
basically, all watches except for the original Moto 360 (anything currently running 2.0)
This article is from March. Is it the same update?

where did you get March from? the URL clearly has "2018/08/29" in it. now, if the article was simply a re-post, I don't know. but it appears to be recent.
The March is from the second link:

Seems there's a little update with security patch https://www.reddit.com/r/WearOS/comments/9ikcfg/wear_os_216_updated_not_the_watch_version_yet/
And that the newest will be released not before next month https://twitter.com/WearOSbyGoogle/status/1040292650061053952
Thing is, I still have March security update while people have August. There's something wrong.
Same here. Still security updates March 1st
Wear OS 1.6 has arrived by Play Store on the watch. Seems a little faster; only news: better notification management on the companion app.
New UI still has to arrive.

Android 10?

Who wants to guess when official Android 10 will drop? I'm going to say it will be sometime early next week!
you mean Android Q
I don't care, I will not change the naming scheme even if it's official.
I can't believe they stopped the dessert naming scheme
Absolutely disappointed
I'm going to say first week of Oct
Whenever the 7T is released
7T will be shipped with Android 10. For OP7 pro, who knows. I'd expect fast update.

That's not that far from beta4 to stable. I'm pretty sure Oneplus is working on stable 10 now.
Rumours say Sept. 3rd:
https://www.neowin.net/news/android-10-is-reportedly-launching-on-september-3
https://www.phonearena.com/news/Android-10-release-date-confirmed-official-Pixel_id118451
I'm guessing Open Beta will be around the end of this week.
OP will preserve the update for the new flagship (T) I guess. Normaly within a view days after release they stable updates will be availeble for the previous devices from the same release year.
This could be soon after 27 sept (presentation OP7T and OP7T Pro en OP TV.)
For now latest Developer Preview is out DP4. From this version on you can update via OTA to bèta builds. So you can try it but dont expext everything is working fine. Its still a preview. If you only want stable builds I presume you need to wait to the beginning of october.

He "doesn't like the new naming scheme". Let him stay in his bubble, it's fine. When the time comes and we're all referring to new builds by numbers (as Google is intending), he'll be stuck on letters still and we'll just sit back with our popcorn and laugh. I completely understand Google's reasoning behind it and even after being disappointed at first, the change makes sense. They said that not all desserts were recognized globally and not all regions have certain letters or know what order they come in. I just read an article the day that I found out about the news, if I can find it, I'll link it.
Edit: this isn't the exact article I was referring to, but close enough. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.th...ficially-announced-new-logo-wordmark-desserts
Queen's Cake
I really do not care what they call it.
I do know last year One Plus release Android "9" really fast.
We had it long before the Samsung losers.
You want the fastest updates Pixel but at least last year One Plus was pretty fast.

What are the chances the 7 Pro 5G will get 10 at same time as 4G version, we have seriously been lacking updates and still missing a lot of fixes that 4G version has plus still on June Security patch

It is rumoured that Oneplus is going to release Android 10 for OP7 Pro in October or November 2019. I think that's possible. We can be sure one thing - that will be faster than Lineage.

It may note release on September 3rd. Here's why. Both Telus and Rogers first listed Android Q for September 3rd release (probably based on the rumor), but both have removed that now.

Late is better than never, which is the case for the vast majority of phones many of which are newer than the X4.
Does anyone know if the FI/AndroidOne version for sept. has be released? Can't find in my usual locations.
Noticed on the Lolinet site that the RETUS releases has "PPWS29.69-40-3-1" uploaded on 10/3. Seems like a newer build just going by the naming scheme?

I got the update today as well, which came as a surprise. I was wondering the same thing regarding some urgent fix.
Maybe they are trying to appease the masses over not getting Android 10 by providing faster security updates. I feel like they wiggled out of providing the upgrade. Technically speaking from a calendar standpoint, the Android 10 release was within the 2 year OS upgrade path when looking at the release date of the phone. Rant over. Time to look towards custom ROMs.
i just got november, PPWS29.69-36-2. support.motorola.com/us/en/solution/MS145560
