Hello all
in need of some urgent but easy help fixing the IMEI invalid / null issue with the phone i recently had to flash a Rom on
details of phone:
Asus Zenfone 3 Max
model ZC520TL or as seen in screenshot X008D
chipset MT6737M
Current Android Version 7.0 original version out of box was 6.0
the situation
i recently was forced to flash the phone due to it being completely dead had contacted Asus support they gave me the current version of the firmware i am using now ( Android 7.0 ) the original out of the box was ( Android 6.0 ).... the phone has now finally fired up and is operational as far as being able to access menus and connecting to my Wi-Fi
the issue i am faced with is invalid IMEI number as can be seen in screenshot had a look around the web and there seems to be a number of tools to deal with this issue but sadly none have helped me i have tried using MTK Engineering mode but when it comes to following the instructions given by some forums i get stuck at the point where it states CDS as this option is missing from the list
other tools require the AP BP database files and i cannot seem to find them online ones i can find don't match my chipset version... i also cannot pull files from the phone as the phone is not rooted and phone either fails to root or has some permission issue and says contact your IT administrator
bottom line is i would really like to get the phone to do what a mobile phone was designed for so does anyone have a simple solution
i should also note i spotted in my Wi-Fi list an error it reads NVRAM WARNING: Err = 0x10 but my Wi-Fi is working
please see screenshots for more info
thank you all

Hi,
I hope all are well.
Is there anybody can help me to recover IMEI of my oukitel K6, IMEI number has been lost during installing the firmware,
It is very bad to me, my cell is not communicating with service provider
I have tested 3 most methods i have find on internet
1 : usind engineering mode
2: Mobile uncle app does not support backup and restore function
3: By dialing code on pad eg. *#46736443# this is sample
If anybody is capable and expert in android please help me to get rid of this issue.:crying::crying::crying:
Hello friends, I'll get to the point:
* The ROM of my phone is carrier modified, it is not a normal global ROM. This phone even has one of the sealed SIM slots. There will be no problem changing it for a global ROM?
* The change can be local or by fastboot?
Hi
I think I've completely bricked my SM-A125F but I don't understand how.
I had TWRP and LineageOS 18.1 working on this device and was fine for several hours. I booted into TWRP to attempt to install GAPPS so I could use Play Store but it said there wasn't enough space.
At this point I did something dumb... I used the "Unmap Super Devices" button without knowing what it did... but I'm not sure if even that could have caused my issue. After all of this I chose Reboot->Recovery.... and that's the last thing I've seen on the screen since.
I have tried holding Vol - and Power to turn it off in case it's in a powered on state, but that does nothing. I've tried holding the keys to get back to TWRP, no luck. I've tried holding the Vol buttons and plugging it in to get to download mode to no avail.
At no point has anything shown up on the screen when trying any of these things. I've tried disconnecting the battery internally to make sure it was powered off then trying all of this again but that didn't work either.
If I leave it connected to the PC I notice it makes the connected sound, and 2 seconds later makes the disconnected sound. Over and over and over again with a 10 second or so gap in between. When it does connect it adds a mediatek usb port, but that disappears 2 seconds later.
Is there anything, anything at all, I can do with this situation? I'm not afraid to open it up if necessary either.
TIA.
i can get into MTK BROM mode but i havent used sp flash tool before so i don't know how to do it.
using sp flash tool i've managed to get enough flashed onto it to get me back into download mode. thank you. hopefully this will be enough to allow me to flash stock with odin.
well. after all of the flashing i was able to get back into my a12s. the issue i'm facing now is my phone thinks it's vietnamese.... but i flashed an australian rom... on top of that it thinks it's a dual sim device now too.... which it isn't... and the imei is unknown for both imei slots....
i've gone over this procedure so many times today trying to fix it and i'm really starting to lose my mind.

Cnage CSC number and flash with eareasing old NAND. And you said it is a A125F not A127F which I think is a dual sim model.
Changing CSC code

is this referencing a combination firmware or a mode that i'm unfamiliar with? thank you for your help so far.
combination fimware
can't flash a combination firmware. tells me i don't have approval. so i guess i'm completely out of luck.
i'm not 100% sure what i've done in the last few hours but somehow i have ended up with access to the mps_code.dat so i'll follow your earlier inttructions again now and see what come of it.
nup. no good. damn. it no longer thinks the phone is vietnamese but the stock apps it installs aren't the same ones i originally got and it still sees my imei as unknown and won't register my network. vodafone.
You have problems with IMEI and CSC ?
I would recomend you to try reflashing fimware with ereasing OLD NAND and if that doesn't work then flash new scattar fimware through SP_FLASH_TOOL from PRELOADER mode. And try older fimware, there is no need for latest. I run BUF9. There are a lot of guides you will find for fixing IMEI problems, and you can try changing you IMEI too but I can't really exlplain to you how to do that because of xda rules.

Thanks. Absolutely certain you are correct. Fortunately I'm not looking to change the IMEI. I just want the phone working again.
I dumped my nvram partition tonight and found it is completely nulled out. 64mb of 00 bytes. I'm downloading a dead boot repair firmware at the moment that contains an nvram img to flash so hopefully I'll have some luck with that.,

I do. Sorry. I only meant i'm not looking to change the IMEI to something other than the original. So I'm not breaking any laws or anything.

Thank you for your help. This topic can be put to bed now as, unfortunately, in the process of following another tutorial something caused my serial number to be replaced by whatever was in the "dead boot fix" firmware file i was using. as soon as i connected to wifi it immediately locked down. KG Status: Locked. i tried to us sp flasher to get around it, but that put me into permanent download mode and with KG locked i can't flash any firmware to get out of download mode. only after i did this did i find out that the KG lock is in RPMB and i don't have the necessary hardware to wipe the RPMB. so at this point that phone is 100% never going to be fixed.
someone to shed some light, I installed the stock rom miui 11 [I even tried several versions] and strangely my sim card is not recognized or the device's ID and IMEI - I've done everything, and to make matters worse the bootloader is blocked, and to unlock it I need have data [YES] active - being impossible, my question - how to unlock bootloader without access to mi account ??? without using the sim card ??
Is there any way to unlock without using the sim card and IM account?
Or is there any way , way to solve the SIM CHIP detection ?
MI MAX 2 !!
Attempts already made : STOCK rom 9 \10 \ 11 via EDL mode; they all have the same error
already tried by the way of native app SIM ACTIVE MI - clearing cache, and giving the permissions !!
if someone gives me a direction I will give gratitude and recognition !!
Thks
