I am trying to update my Verizon Note 5 to the latest RH1 update. It currently has the RG1 update installed. I no longer have cell service on this phone (just use it as a media device) and have used the Verizon Software Update tool via my PC for the last 4 or 5 updates and everything has gone smooth. Today the Software Update tool froze with the error message on the phone Secure Check Fail (Radio) and I’m stuck in an Update Failed screen and unable to power down. I have used Odin before and have successfully rooted several other Samsung devices. I think this issue can be resolved in Odin but not sure where to look for repair files. Please advise.
Crisis averted, I was able to repair it through the Verizon Repair Update tool. Thanks.

"System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone. Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest Verizon Wireless store for help" This is the error message I am getting. The only place I can get to is download mode.
I tried updating from 4.2.1 to 4.3 manually because no matter how many times I tried to update from the phone it wouldn't install all the way. I used ODIN to manually update it to the newest firmware. I'm starting to think it was just a root to a 4.3 custom rom. It stopped randomly and that's when I got the error message. I have tried turning it off and on multiple times and also with removing the battery.
I'm not sure if my phone is bricked or soft-bricked.
Any information is helpful. I hope there is a way to get back to stock

If you are in doubt use the Verizon utility but the Odin file is from the utility so if you got it from me I don't know what the problem is.

So as you know 3 days ago a small OTA update came out for Verizon which is pretty much the same one AT&T received last month. On wifi I tried to download the update via OTA on the phone, my phone is not rooted and when I tried to download it it just failed in the middle of downloading and I got the error code 503. The wifi I'm using is very fast and steady and nothing else on the phone is having an issue at the moment. So I tried to download it again and it told me that the software currently installed on the phone(original phone release date software) is the newest up to date software. So I called Samsung and told them the situation along with the new build number "VRU1AOD5"(from the new OTA not installed on my phone yet) and software version number currently installed on the phone(5.0.2) and they told me that I'm up to date 5.0.2 and that to their knowledge they never heard of the update or build number I gave them and there was no update for Verizon. So how I can redownload the OTA? because for 3 days now I'm unable to download the OTA due to the 503 error from the very first time I tried to download the update.
What is mind boggling to me is how Samsung the creator of the device has no idea of this update so they can't even help me out. Then they're basically telling me how the hell am I getting the 503 error when I have the latest build(according to them) and software update which is not the case here and I told them that.
Use the Odin file in the return to stock thread
I bought a refurbished Galaxy Note 5 and have used it on TotalWireless for a few days before I noticed the Note 5 should be on BPF4. When I received the phone it was already on BPD4, my wife's phone upgraded from a 5.1.1 firmware and went through the full chain to BPF4 previously. Will an ODIN flash back to a 5.1.1 firmware allow my phone to pass where it is stuck currently?
Thanks

Why don't you just download BPF4 and flash via odin? I'd make sure you didn't receive a fake phone before you flash anything as long as the phones real you can just flash it yourself in odin and setup the network to use the right settings from Totalwireless. The only reason I mentioned a fake phone is because someone else wanted to do the same thing and ended up with a phone that he couldn't find the firmware for because it was fake and after trying to flash Verizon firmware which failed he had no way to go back!
It's definitely a genuine Note 5. I was trying to locate the PF4 firmware to flash via ODIN, but the only ones I could find were several 5.1.1 firmwares and the PD4 firmware I was already on, do you have a link to a full PF4 firmware? Must have had research failure or something, haha. I finally decided to try the Verizon Upgrade Assistant and it was able to update me to the latest PF4 firmware no problem.
Download Samsung Smart Switch for PC.
You won't get OTA updates unless you have an active Verizon sim card.
Using Smart Switch to update is much easier than Odin.
I'll try Smartswitch when the next OTA comes out. I was actually surprised how well the Verizon software worked to fix the issue. In the past I always ignored the software install portion of USB connection. Guess it serves a purpose now.

Hi all !
Hope everyone have a great day, i have got a samsung galaxy A6 US variant TMB, (SM-A600T) with android version 9, I was trying to root the phone but didn't have the knowledge that this phone can't be rooted because of locked bootloader which can't be unlock with any procedure. So i gave up and just updated my phone to the latest version available of PIE . (Android 9), To tell you more, before it was also on the same version of android 9 but earlier date. I have not updated a whole version of android but just to a latest date of android 9, Android 10 is also available for this phone but i haven't done that yet. The main problem with my phone is that before this update i just needed to charge my phone once in 24 hours, and now after update i need the same phone with same demands to charge it 3 times in 24 hours, Did every optimization for battery, unused apps, extra apps uninstalled, just one google account left, synchronization is off, NFC and near scanning is off, Bluetooth / Wifi is off, GPS is off. Auto update for apps and system software is off. Battery saving mode is enabled, clear cash has been done, factory reset is already done with flashing this version of android with odin tool, and etc every other thing has been tried with no luck, please don't advise for these things as the main problem for me is just the android version itself which i have newly flashed. Because of locked bootloader i can't flash back my older version of android 9 with odin tool, phone gives error of bootloader :
sw rev check fail device 2 binary 5something like above after many tries the same result. tried my old firmware with the new bootloader but still no luck. (Same error). Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I am thinking what if i extract the AP of the new flashed firmware and replace the system.img.lz4 with my old firmware's system.img.lz4 to trick the phone and reflash with the new firmware but old system image file, Can this be done ? or i may brick my phone for ever ? what if i take my phone to the outside market and request a z3x flash for the old firmware version ? will that work ?
Please give any accurate solution i really want my old phone back, this locked bootloader has become a really annoying thing for me. I will never buy a phone like this which bootloader's can't be open again. Or if i wasn't able to flash this to my old version i will never use android again in my life, Better option will be to buy an iphone after 17 years of android use.
Thanks in advance.
