You can stream any music available on youtube for free.
The app is completely free open source, features no IAP, no ads. Just download app, search your song, and stream!
At core it uses NewPipeExtractor to get streams from YouTube hence can play almost any YouTube stream.
Features an inbuilt search to search YouTube, an adjustable playing queue, custom playlists and more. No song is stored in device it's directly streamed from google server hence saving space.
It does not streams video and only fetches audio files thus eliminating heavy data usage of videos,
It's full featured music player so you can enjoy background playback with notification controls, and you don't need to keep screen on and focused like YouTube to listen to your music.
It does not track you, there is no tracking system at all, you don't even need Google APIs to use app.
It's a work in progress app, so use at your own risk.

Is it possible to reduce the size of the "top artist" and "artist" icons ? The resolution of the pics are so small that the viewing is ugly.

It's surely possible, and resolution can be improved too, I'm planning to reduce top artist icons size and increasing artists icons resolution, will publish an update soon,
that cut in artist name is not something i encountered earlier thanks for letting me know, I'll fix it soon

App Updated, Artist tab should now display 3 artist per row, and artist name distortion should be fixed,
Resolution is not yet changed, will change it in next version.

tested your app yesterday. Works very well. Love it for live performances only available on youtube.
I'm just missing an option to share the content to to a wifi speaker. That would make the app awesome.
If I click on settings nothing happens. Is this a bug or are there no settings right now?

Hi, thank you for testing it out,
Sharing content to a WiFi speaker isn't something I'd thought of, I'll look if I can implement it.
And yeah, there r no settings currently. The app is work in progress. There r some features which aren't implemented yet, like settings and shuffle.
You'll see them working soon

Thank you, a lot of features are incoming keep an eye. Also would it too much to ask to leave a rating on XDA Labs? Since app is completely free and open source without ads, it'll help me motivate,
I installed the app and should say that it's really awesome. The most interesting thing about it is that it doesn't stream the video and saves the internet.

That's not something planned, but if importing youtube playlist is concerned, I can add an import feature which will require you to download your playlist as xml using http://youtube.com/subscription_manager?action_takeout=1 link, and import it in the app,
I'll implement it in coming versions

I already see that you can add an URL of a playlist. For some reason, the app crashes right after adding it. And the playlist contains no songs at all after restart.

You can already do that, go to playlists and instead of add click import button, paste playlist URL and it'll import

We are working On The Location Tools new UI atm but soon Top Music Singles app will have a huge update. I believe until February 10 Music Singles App will have a new UI and a new engine behind it.
New Features will come like new stream player inside the app so you dont need the browser and more like set ringtone, share my choise, social the list and more.

New Update as we promised but sooner that ever Now you will not redirected to any browser. The Media player will start thrue the app.
Nice functionality already. I like where the development is headed. It would be nice if the reminder that the listen function is for sampling only came on once when you loaded the app instead of every song but I understand the necessity. Perhaps a long press on the Song Title in the app should be an Amazon link to purchase the song. Also it would be nice if the chart info included last week's position, the number of weeks on the chart and how many weeks the number one song has been at number one. I am a chart fanatic so this app is right up my street. I might also hyper-link the artist name to the wiki page for the artist. Keep up the good work. I look forward to where the development of this app is headed.

You can set any song from the charts as a ringtone. so the answer is yes.

Cool, and I like the Chrome theme. One issue however, which was in the 1.7.2 release also. If I give a track a rating, like five stars, it throws it to the bottom of the track list. The only way I've succeeded in correcting this issue is to unrate the track, then I have to rename the folder and rescan my library.
In all other aspects, it's my favorite player on android.

I would like to request a new feature. In my iTunes library I have about 6,000 songs in 143 playlists and I use playlist folders to keep track of them all.
When I sync my playlists the folder its self syncs as a whole new playlist with all of the songs from the other playlists in it instead of just being a folder for the other playlists.
This makes it much harder for when I want to find a certain playlist because I have to scroll through a huge list of them instead of selecting from a few folders.

Yes indeed. I should have included that in my original post. I have a Google Nexus 10, with all updates, running the stock 4.2.2 release, not rooted or anything like that.

This beta should work with your unlocker if the unlocker is from the Play Store. However, the beta won't work with the Amazon Appstore unlocker. Could that be the issue?
App Crash
Hello everyone,
My app crashes randomly... I had this problem with previous version too. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S3.
When i listen music, sometimes it stops for no reason (it can happens even if i don't touch my phone), then the app seems to close and open again with the song i've listen sometimes ago as currently playing song.
Am i the only one? Any idea where my problem can came from ?

Hi Olivier,
I think I just emailed you about this issue. Unless this is a different Olivier with an S3 and the same issue.

For anyone else seeing this issue in the future, the best way for me to figure out the issue is to send in a log file (Help->Support with Log) with a note of the issue right after this happens. If you keep using Rocket Player, I won't be able to tell what happened.

1. in folders the songs are listed in alphabetical order. they should be listed in TRACK order. how can i change this?
2. when are you giving away more unlock codes?

1.) Hmm. I don't think we can say they should be in track order. What if you have two albums in the same folder? Wouldn't it be weird to have the songs go 1-1-2-2-3-3, etc? If you want the songs in track order, you could use search or the album view.
2.) Keep an eye on our Twitter, Google+ and Facebook pages for more unlock codes.

Quite nice. Note: There are several of these on Play with more feeds, but awaiting more feeds here. UI is quite navigable.
Since the screen is quite sparse, used Xposed Appsettings to show more songs. Lower "DPI" and magnified font size to compensate so still readable. However, tab-bar now covers half of the title bar. So ... might suggest the number of songs/pane be adjustable and scaled within the app rather than from outside (anyone tried this using Paranoid's DPI settings?).
Might also embed a simple youtube player rather than rely on that app being around (since there are alternatives and many of us do not keep it).

My Opinion: Is pretty good as a discovery app, I'm having no errors luckily. A way for autoplaying the sections (playlist?) would be nice. I also backup the Deezer/Rdio/Spotify linking idea. Great job man! I like your app.

Yes, it happens with a few songs because SoundCloud is not providing MP3s for them. I'm trying to fix this.
Next, I think I made a bad generalization that everyone will have the official YouTube app. I'll have to fix this one too.

Related to but I reported using Xposed Appsettings. Actually in expanded mode as well.

WHOOPS:silly:I didn't see that and i too use xposed appsettings...but i keep my phone's default dpi at 145 then upscale systemui.apk and nova launcher to 160 . then its all ok but it cuts the actionbar text for only billy when i enable expanded mode

Thanks for your feedback. It's useful, "Sync online playlist" feature will be implemented in next version. :good:
You can send feedback directly in the left menu of the App.
I suggest that on the search result, not only show the name of the video / music, but also the length of time, how long for the video / music.
And also, it would be great if the search result can show the playlist of other people, like on the official YouTube app.
This app is absolutely genius!! Thank you so much for creating this!
Suggestions:
- Settings to choose default quality to download
- Removal of default youtube account, or implementation of option to use our own account (app is really early version, I understand)
- Option to exit the app from the notification on lockscreen (for now pause and swipe it away)
Bugs:
- Alot of urls cannot be fetched for some reason (lukas graham feat Brandon Beal golden for example), but I encountered 6-10 songs in 25 tries (once a song reports error, retrying never helps though the message suggests it)
Last note - what about the legal aspect of this app, especially in regards to the download feature? Have you considered a reaction from Google?

Hmm, I know that. The application's purpose is just bringing the comfortable to user by provide some "limited features" of youtube app such as listening sound from video to save bandwidth and saving offline contents. It has a bit of trouble about video's copyright but I think it can be ignore because there are many website and browser/plugin does the same.
The app is Non-profit 100%. I neither intend to publish it on Play store nor compete with youtube app.

About servers and availability - is the conversion of songs and fetching from YouTube happen on your server infrastructure? If yes, you might want to change that to happen on the user's phone, at least any part of the process requirering bandwidth, as that is the pricy part. Also to avoid local restrictions on content.. The conversion of songs, I don't know if that is possible locally on Android, it requires you to add much more code to the app.
About copyright, I think you are right, but moving workload to the individual device also helps here :good:

All streaming data come from googlevideo host, it means my app does the same with youtube app except while you download video as mp3 type.

Question, is it planned to implement the suggest feature youtube have? Eg, when I play a song, similar or related songs are shown.. It's tricky I know, I was just wondering?
Just noticed the following errors when downloading songs.. I guess the timestamps and titles will allow you to investigate if necessary.

Current version also fetches related songs, after current playback (online) ended, the next one related with it will auto play.
I planning to design screen "Player" which help you to control playback (seek, next, pause,...) and see the related songs.

You're a genius. Best online music app ever, I really liked it. Could you add predictive search just like in youtube or it isn't possible?
Love the app idea.
Here are suggestions:
1). Playlists - It would be nice to search/play music playlists.
2). Seek Bar - There are some long music mixes or playlists converted into one large file, the ability to fast forward the long track is not possible.
These two features makes YouTube a great app for music.
I can't download the media libs.

With Amazon Fire TV arm64 libs start to download but then the app crashed and won't start up again. Deleted cache and data and the app will start again and trying to download the libs again but it is again crashing.

I'm thinking of it. May be my app detects wrong CPU architecture of your devices (I see some topic say about android TV issues with CPU arch).

This tagger looks great. I do have a question though, I went to have a look at grabbing up premium, but the price in AUD is a bit crazy. It costs $12 AUD for extended and $10 for fingerprinting. I got someone else to check it out and for them it costs the equivilent of $3 AUD.
Idk, I'll be more than happy to buy extended once I have some spare cash but $12 for an app is a big ask generally. Also the price difference for my friend seems a bit large, I get generally developers lower the cost for apps in countries that can't afford much and keep the price higher elsewhere but this IAP... Idk it just seems like you typo'd the price or something lol.

Bought both extended and fingerprint. Totally worth it. Specially like the auto file rename feature. Usually I'd to use two or three separate apps for the job, particularly to get gracenote fingerprinting and then go about renaming from tags, but this is super convenient.
Just wondering that in the patterns editing section, though it's a great option to be be able to add your own patterns, it would make it a little easier if instead of having to type the %xyz% for each item, you could just tap to select.
@Frances91 glad to hear. If I got you right, you can add your own patterns and you don't need to type %xyz% every time, you can just long tap on existing patterns or part of patterns to copy it!

As I work through my library, I find that it could be helpful from time to time to be able to actually review a track, or a selection of tracks. The ability to share a track to another app, or to export a selected list to text or csv would be very helpful!

Hello! Huh, i've really missed your post. Appologize for it.
Regarding your question: i am not sure that this feature is really useful because app is just an utility, so there's no purpose to share track to somewhere else. If app would be a music player then sharing would make a value because maybe you want to edit track somehow or text your friend "hi, listen to song XXX, it's really cool".

Best tag editor ever! This one works best for me, and I tried almost every other app. Got one request though. I have some albums here with consolidated tracks. Meaning the album is a one big FLAC file. My music player, which is Hiby, recognizes the sheets and makes it so that each track from that album is listed individually, with proper tags and start/end timings of the songs. Is it possible for Autotagger to support editing for this? I can send you a sample album if you want.
