Wow, i am impressed. Does exactly what it says! Sometimes finds live versions of the songs though, instead of the album versions.

No download is NOT available because that would violate copyright restrictions and Youtube terms of service.

It use whatever connection you have at the time ^^
So if wifi is what you have when you use this app that’s the only connection it will use..

Just needs a playback control widget and compatibility with bluetooth controls (unless mine just isn't cooperating).

Meaning.. does it still stream/download both video and audio from the youtube servers, but just play the audio without displaying video? Or does it just stream/download the audio from youtubes servers without the video (less to download etc)

Great app. Shame that there is no killers live from the royal albert hall. Would also be nice if the audio at the start of some songs (try a dustland farytale of the importance of being idle) could be removed

I'd like to know this also. And if the music comes direct from YouTube's servers or if it has to pass through another or anything, because my plan has unlimited YouTube access and if it's all coming from YouTube I can use as much as I'd like.

I'm kinda wondering about the quality of the audio. How is this compared to say, Spotify?

Nice idea....here's a couple of suggestions...I'm on a slow connection...is there the possibility to be able to check "slow connection" or "buffer entire song"? I'd either like it to buffer MORE or the whole song before playing..nothing more annoying then a song that stops every 10 seconds or so to buffer for another minute then 10 more seconds......along those lines I'd suggest buffering song 2 as soon as song 1 finishes downloading......on a fast connection this won't matter but if I'm buffering whole songs it means the 3 minutes or so the song is playing are grabbing the next song for me.
Also, if you are in fact grabbing the video's and stipping off the audio...maybe you want to allow someone to choose quality level....audiophiles may want the audio from the high quality version (360p etc) where people with slowpoke connections may be fine with the "lowfi" version.
You may want a "ban this song" option as well for those getting "live" versions of songs...create a personal blacklist for that one and pull in a new one.

This app is great! When it works it works brilliant. One annoying gripe though, songs skip randomly and sometimes the app just quits altogether. I'm not sure if it's because of conflicting music apps(I have Tune Wiki and Music 3.0 as well) or what. But the song skipping happens whenever I run another app alongside this one. Like, Whatsapp or MP3 Music Downloader. Just now, it quit when I logged on to the Market. Let me know how I can help.

Cool, and I like the Chrome theme. One issue however, which was in the 1.7.2 release also. If I give a track a rating, like five stars, it throws it to the bottom of the track list. The only way I've succeeded in correcting this issue is to unrate the track, then I have to rename the folder and rescan my library.
In all other aspects, it's my favorite player on android.

I would like to request a new feature. In my iTunes library I have about 6,000 songs in 143 playlists and I use playlist folders to keep track of them all.
When I sync my playlists the folder its self syncs as a whole new playlist with all of the songs from the other playlists in it instead of just being a folder for the other playlists.
This makes it much harder for when I want to find a certain playlist because I have to scroll through a huge list of them instead of selecting from a few folders.
tl;dr add playlist folder support please

Yikes! This is the first I've heard of this rating issue. Can you tell me what Android device you are testing the beta on?
I'll try and reproduce our issue on the exact device or a similar device.

Yes indeed. I should have included that in my original post. I have a Google Nexus 10, with all updates, running the stock 4.2.2 release, not rooted or anything like that.

I take it this doesn't work with the unlocker? I have it and it still says I need it to adjust the equalizer settings.

This beta should work with your unlocker if the unlocker is from the Play Store. However, the beta won't work with the Amazon Appstore unlocker. Could that be the issue?

App Crash
Hello everyone,
My app crashes randomly... I had this problem with previous version too. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S3.
When i listen music, sometimes it stops for no reason (it can happens even if i don't touch my phone), then the app seems to close and open again with the song i've listen sometimes ago as currently playing song.
Am i the only one? Any idea where my problem can came from ?

Hi Olivier,
I think I just emailed you about this issue. Unless this is a different Olivier with an S3 and the same issue.

For anyone else seeing this issue in the future, the best way for me to figure out the issue is to send in a log file (Help->Support with Log) with a note of the issue right after this happens. If you keep using Rocket Player, I won't be able to tell what happened.

2. when are you giving away more unlock codes?

1.) Hmm. I don't think we can say they should be in track order. What if you have two albums in the same folder? Wouldn't it be weird to have the songs go 1-1-2-2-3-3, etc? If you want the songs in track order, you could use search or the album view.
2.) Keep an eye on our Twitter, Google+ and Facebook pages for more unlock codes.

After launching Jair Player to Play Store, I've received few bug reports, lots of feature requests.
I've added all the stuff to my TO-DO list & I'm working hard to implement all the things.
Here comes Jair Player v1.01, just an minor update to fix bugs

Jair 1.0 have some problems showing files that now you solved with 1.1, thanks
Now I can't change music when screen is off with volume buttons. I use Gravity Box to manage rew and forward with volume on my Huawei Y300 JB4.1 and Viper4Android
I can use volume with Apollo so is a Jair issue, I hope this can help

Intro - Little bit about me. I am 23 and started my first full time Software job last year. I spent about an year on this app along with my full time job. Hope you people will like it. I was first introduced to the Android platform in my last year in college by two of my friends who asked me if I would like to develop an app with them. Motivation- I read about Chris Lacy's Link Bubble somewhere on the web and tried it out. It was a fantastic idea and a great app. I saw some of his other apps and I was determined to make an app that people will use. The idea of making something that people use everyday was so satisfying and exciting. Due to my passion for Music I decided to make a Music Player.
Although one would find lots of Music Players (which play local files) on PlayStore, I feel that they can still be made way better than how they are right now. Lots of amazing features can be added around data learning and user experience which I think most local Music Players miss. My aim is to make my app the best Music Player on playstore. Its still far from that but I am trying to improve it everyday.

I have tried lots of music player but none have that which is features present in blackberry 10os.

In blackberry 10 OS devices in music app user can select some songs and play them as play next songs.

There are third party soundcloud clients, you can consider adding soundcloud etc streaming support? It would make it perfect. But even now, I really like it !

Not yet. Because custom rom installed on my phone, I have not install Google apps yet.

You can stream any music available on youtube for free.
The app is completely free open source, features no IAP, no ads. Just download app, search your song, and stream!
At core it uses NewPipeExtractor to get streams from YouTube hence can play almost any YouTube stream.
Features an inbuilt search to search YouTube, an adjustable playing queue, custom playlists and more. No song is stored in device it's directly streamed from google server hence saving space.
It does not streams video and only fetches audio files thus eliminating heavy data usage of videos,
It's full featured music player so you can enjoy background playback with notification controls, and you don't need to keep screen on and focused like YouTube to listen to your music.
It does not track you, there is no tracking system at all, you don't even need Google APIs to use app.
It's a work in progress app, so use at your own risk.

Is it possible to reduce the size of the "top artist" and "artist" icons ? The resolution of the pics are so small that the viewing is ugly.

It's surely possible, and resolution can be improved too, I'm planning to reduce top artist icons size and increasing artists icons resolution, will publish an update soon,
that cut in artist name is not something i encountered earlier thanks for letting me know, I'll fix it soon

App Updated, Artist tab should now display 3 artist per row, and artist name distortion should be fixed,
Resolution is not yet changed, will change it in next version.

tested your app yesterday. Works very well. Love it for live performances only available on youtube.
I'm just missing an option to share the content to to a wifi speaker. That would make the app awesome.
If I click on settings nothing happens. Is this a bug or are there no settings right now?

Hi, thank you for testing it out,
Sharing content to a WiFi speaker isn't something I'd thought of, I'll look if I can implement it.
And yeah, there r no settings currently. The app is work in progress. There r some features which aren't implemented yet, like settings and shuffle.
You'll see them working soon

Thank you, a lot of features are incoming keep an eye. Also would it too much to ask to leave a rating on XDA Labs? Since app is completely free and open source without ads, it'll help me motivate,

I installed the app and should say that it's really awesome. The most interesting thing about it is that it doesn't stream the video and saves the internet.

That's not something planned, but if importing youtube playlist is concerned, I can add an import feature which will require you to download your playlist as xml using http://youtube.com/subscription_manager?action_takeout=1 link, and import it in the app,
I'll implement it in coming versions

And one feature request - adding someone else's already-created playlists.
I already see that you can add an URL of a playlist. For some reason, the app crashes right after adding it. And the playlist contains no songs at all after restart.

You can already do that, go to playlists and instead of add click import button, paste playlist URL and it'll import
