The maximum download/upload i got was on different wireless networks.
Here they are:
maximum download, this was in my home network, 512/512 Mbps link with a TP Link Archer C9 router
https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/4166625520
maximum upload, got it in my college network, have no idea about their link speed, it was tested in a Aruba AP 135 access point

Just for information, i tried better routers and gigabit speed links with them, but never got higher speeds, each and every router after 866 Mbps gives me the same 400 ~ 500 Mbps down / 250 ~ 300 Mbps Upload, and this tests are made in a 0,5 ~ 1 meter range from them
Best budget router i tested was the Archer C9 from TP Link, but the one i like the most is Netgear R7000 (similar speeds, but i love Merlin Firmware option, it's an Asuswrt "modded" firmware)
Beastly phone, beastly chipset, beastly radios
Pretty impressive for a mobile chipset. The Pure Edition is a beast!

Thank you. Those are really impressive speeds. I recently moved on to the Pixel 3 XL but I'm turning my MXP into a dedicated VR headset and getting wifi at those speeds would negate the need for a usb tether entirely. Making sure I don't need to change roms or anything to achieve that.

when i first got my AT&T htc one x, the speedtest.net app would crash every time during the upload test,
but after using the RUU to the 1.82 and then rooting, and then debloat/debranding the device, it appears the speedtest.net is now working during the upload test and shows the resulting speed in the end...
not sure what part of that process fixed it, probably the debranding, or maybe the app was updated im not sure.. just letting people know what i've found
it always worked for me but good info for the people that do have problems with it
I'm still totally stock, and the Speedtest app works just fine. 32 Mbps up and 21 Mbps down, daaaamnnnn!
Always had worked for me. Getting still my epic blazing 4g LTE speeds 58.45 Mbps down and 25.93 Mbps up. This is 2.5X faster then my home connection.

Yesterday I hit ~53 down. I honestly almost crapped my pants. I have 15down/1up at home. Also, if you go to results, you can email the result which also provides a link to a much smaller image of the test.
...my rogers 4g wireless only hit 4M DOWNLOAD AND 1M UPLOAD, WHY WHY WHY!!!

Because that's actually HSPA+, not true 4G LTE.

You were going to return your phone because the speedtest app crashed????
Good evening everyone,
I decided to look into improving speeds over wifi when remoting to my laptop(trying to play Diablo 3 from RT). I recall before February patch Tuesday that there were some issues with wifi, so I assumed that there would be no problems post patches. I decide to run some tests over speedtest.net and I noticed this drastic difference.

Router: Buffalo N300 <-link
Changed network mode(A/B/G/N). Changed channels/Channel width. Only thing I'm running into issues with is upgrading the firmware on the router(talking to buffalo about it now). Im willing to bet that I am missing/overlooking something simple as **** but I cant seem to figure it out.
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Holy ****sack, you've got 10x better download speed than I've ever had! Why does the world hate me...
Also back to the question at hand, I've also had a problem like this, even though the Surface has two network cards it's still slow, slower than other PC's in the house, I just guess this is another problem Microsoft will have to fix.

Its got a single network card with a dual tuner. Not two network cards.
As for the download speed. My home download speed is measured in kilobits per sec, I don't even get half a megabit, let alone 11.

Oh sorry, I'm sure I read that somewhere but cheers for giving me clarity. ?
I think you are right with MS needing to optimize a bit.
Another problem I notice is that being in a larger apartment building, there are a TON of networks. I will just have to do some tinkering to see what can be done.
I have to resurrect this thread as this problem, at least for me and a few fellow RT owners, still isn't solved at all. Under 8.0 as well as the 8.1 Preview and the final version the WiFi speed seems to be stuck at a maximum of 65 Mbps.
So far I tried various AP's and different settings: n-only, 2.4/5GHz, encryption disabled, channel width 20/40, etc. but all without success. Also a complete re-install of the Surface RT didnt help as well as the numerous times I have refreshed.
So, I have got speedy fiber internet here now and I was keen to see how it slays on my Note Pro, however, it didn't really blown me away, since I was stating around 60-80mbps speed only. My connection is 450mbps MAX on WiFi, so I think it is theoretic speed of my wifi router, so well, something like 200mbps could be possible to achieve.
So, how speedy is WIFI of Note Pro? Any ways to make it even faster?
Anyone?
Note Pro's WiFi is documented to be AC, so it should be able to push a lot...
Well, even with the best circumstances, you're never likely to see 200Mb/s, let alone 450Mb/s. There are a lot of factors that explain why you'll never get close to theoretical advertised speeds. Overhead, interference, distance, duplex, access point performance, band, etc. Or yeah, the tablet could always be the bottleneck.
I assume you have an AC router? But are you also on 5GHz or 2.4? That can make a huge difference. How far from the AP are you? Have you tried changing channels?
I don't yet use AC, just N and 5ghz. With my laptop, 1m from router I am hitting close to 180mbps,, with tablet - the same 70-90mbps, twice less...
Always around 270-300mbps when in the same room as my Linksys E2000 router

weird, my router is also N stanard, but I can't reach 100mbps
There are different types of N. N150, N300, N450 it all depends how many antennas are used. (MIMO)
Try a different 5ghz channel on your router.

My router is http://www.linksys.com/en-apac/products/routers/e1200
With laptop I can push 200mbps, so it is not the router who isn't capable....
Which 5ghz channel are you on?

I just got my NP12 yesterday. I am using Netgear R7000. My link speed is 600mbps to low 700mbps. The most I got from N10 2014 is 433mpbs. That is becuase it is single antanna compare to dual antanna on NP12.
I'm experiencing realy poor wifi speed when connected to 2.4 GHz wifi. Maximum download speed is 15 to 20 Mbps and 30 Mbps up. All my other devices easily reach 45 to 50 Mpps (Honor 8, Xperia Z3c, Kindle Fire). So it isn't router or interference problem. Is this general problem or I got faulty device? 5GHz speeds are OK 70 to 100 Mbps (router maximum).

That seems to be a general problem of Huawei devices. WIFi is speed is really poor.
I´ve just updated my internet access to 400mbit. In order to get full speed I´ve installed a mesh network.
With notebooks I have upto 300mbit, my ZTE Axon 7 has about 250, the V10 upto 130mbit with 5GHz.

For a short time, speed si over 200 Mbits, then it drops to 30-60. I don't know why. Honor 8 on the same spot keeps speeds around 180, so does Xperia Z3c.

Try turning Bluetooth off - it should solve the issue
I'm facing exactly the same problem with my Honor view 10 .. I get no more than 50Mbps on 2.4Ghz compared to over 150 on my Pixel 2XL.
While on 5GHz, the honor won't go above 130Mbps while the pixel can easily reach 350Mbps.
Note: I turn bluetooth and GPS off before running the tests multiple times.
Isn't there any solution for this?
I think the WiFi speed of my Poco X3 pro is much slower than expected.
I have a router that supports 5GHz and Poco says it is connected to the 5Ghz access point at speed of 866 Mbps. I am right next to the wireless router, so link strength is excellent.
Still the Poco can only benchmark poor ~100Mbps as real throughput.

The WiFi router should work fine, my laptop measures +500mbps and my previous phone, ancient old Samsung S7 from the year 2016 can do easily +300Mbps in the iperf3 test to a desktop PC ethernet (1Gbps) connected to the router.
I'm a bit worried if my Poco device is faulty since many reviews have tested that this device should have very fast WiFi, for example, notebookcheck:
Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro smartphone review: Lots of power and features at a bargain price
The Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro starts at 250 Euros (~$305) and offers a very extensive set of features: A 6.7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, up to 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, a quad-camera setup with 48 MP, and a 5,160 mAh battery...
www.notebookcheck.net
The WiFi speed is the same with and without the protective cover.
Do you have similar experience or is your Poco's WiFi as fast as it was tested in that article?
Yeah... That should be higher.
ArrowOS 12.1 with 12.5.4 firmware.
edit: OHHHH Now I Remember this!
Thats NOT an Issue of your WiFI but the TCP Protocol and iPERF. Try using any other speedtest app.
If you use a custom kernel and change that to Westwood or others you will get full performance.

Interesting... however, it seems iperf is not the only slow protocol. I want to transfer photos and videos over FTP to a desktop PC and this is equally slow as well (for example the same FTP transfer in Galaxy S7 is much much faster).
I wonder how did they make it perform so fast in the notebookcheck's testing.
Actually it seems you were right. Only iPerf3 is slow, but FTP is fast on Poco X3 Pro.
I had a chance to go to another place where, perhaps, wifi frequencies are not as crowded as in my apartment home. Now I was able to get very good results in plain FTP transfer speeds (MiXplorer app on the phone and Filezilla FTP server on Windows 10 PC).
Connection to a very old ASUS AC66U router:
And to a newer Sagemcom Fast 3686:
Well... after studying this more I found iperf is slow also from the computer, but only if using the default window/socket size. If forcing size to larger, for example 2048k, the speed is immediately many times more:
I had the same problem. just change the kernel. i use perry the kernel and everything is fine.
