Hi All
It was a real bummer to hear about Inbox shutting down.
I was (and still am) a heavy user of the 'Save to inbox' feature. I simply like all my action items to be in one place. This way I don't have to juggle between apps and I know exactly what I need to do.
I looked around for a decent alternative but didn't find any, so, I've decided to develop one myself.

That's pretty much how InboxIt was born.
Now you can keep 'Inboxing' articles and websites.
Unlike the original 'Save to inbox' feature, InboxIt also supports Images and Videos so you can watch them later as well.
Reminders are still supported by Inbox but I'm not sure they'll stick around for long. InboxIt provides a way to create reminders using a shortcut (you can also add some extra information)
I've also added support for Gmail (+) trick so you can save an item filter it automatically with the relevant label.
The app is pretty new so I'll be really happy to hear what you have to say about the app.
Feel free to mention everything that pops to your head, I'll be here to fix/implement/change it!

Hi
Have you tried sharing some more after the second attempt? was it only the first try that failed?
Thank you very much!
Yes, and the initial attempt was the only hiccup. I like it and its good but my issue or thought is, if it was able to be shared to the app itself would be a great value, for people like me that forgets, or have plenty email accounts that get innodated with incoming correspondence, we can open the app and see it there. Just a thought though.

Naw not looking for pocket. I don't need to explore. if there is something that I'm reading online (or would want to read later) I would like to share to inboxit itself. No exploring, podcast or all the other battery draining, time-stealing features. lol
looking to pocket
I agree, that's why I created InboxIt
I've added support for Gmail (+) address trick so you can apply an automated filter for quick labeling and organization

Chrome Functionality
I agree that it is a shame that Inbox is being shuttered. I have quickly gotten used to using Gmail again and missed this functionality. I have implemented the Gmail labels feature and it is working great. Are you planning on adding a chrome extension version?

I'd like to give it a go. May I have a promo code for Pro please?
Could I get 3x promo code for myself and my family thanks
@SagiLo thanks for this app. I've bought it!
But I think there's a bug:
I enabled Gmail labels and they work great, allowing me to send links directly to a Saved label.
However, if I open the the app again after it had been closed (such as after clearing Recents), the toggle is turned off and I have to re-enable it. If I don't re-enable it, the Gmail label isn't applied.
I think the toggle should persist in the state I set it.
PS: do you want logs?

Maybe I'll do the extension as well..

Cloud to SMS allows you to send messages from your browser, through your phone using the Android notification system (C2DM). The purpose of the app is to allow users (You!) to send SMS messages using their phones existing carrier account without having to touch their phone.
Requires Froyo (Android 2.2) or higher.

Beta of "free" version released to marketplace.
Allows you to send up to 7 messages a day, premium version beta coming in a few days with a release in about 2 weeks.
Grab the beta of the Chrome extension here: http://www.cloudtosms.com/files/cloudtosms-chrome-extension.crx
Feedback welcome
In case anyone is interested, this app is now in Beta and I will be releasing it to market soon.
Send and receive SMS messages from the website
All messages secured by SSL both ways
I will be making a Chrome plugin very soon so you don't need to browse to the website to send/receive.
http://www.cloudtosms.com/?page_id=15
This app has a ton of potential. Can't wait for that Chrome extension!
I could see this having a ton of uses. One being it could grab an entire group of contacts from your Gmail account (or export them from what ever place you prefer to store your contacts and import them directly to the online app -though kind of a concern issue for obvious security reasons). Then you could send bulk Txt's much easier than directly on the phone. It could even schedule them, etc. I frequently have to send out mass texts to different groups and it could save me a lot of time every week if it had those functions.
Feel free to PM me for brainstorming!
Thanks for the feedback.
Will definitely add "Groups" in a future version of the webapp.
I don't store any contacts on the server, its all handled by javascript on the client side (e.g. by your computers browser). If there are other contact sources that work like the Google Contacts API (e.g. allow un-cached display of contacts) I could attempt to add support.
Scheduling is an interesting idea and something to consider in future versions.
One thing to keep in mind is Google limit the amount of messages sent through C2DM, so bulk messages would only work to a certain point.
wonderful app, tons of potential. works perfectly on my spica running cm6.1 rc1. thanks rolf!
Very cool concept. I'll try it out shortly.
First release of the chrome extension is good to go. I haven't tested it on any PC's aside from my own so it might not work, please advise if you try it out:

nice man, keep it up
This is an awesome app!!! Runs fast and smooth on my Desire with Teppics pre-rooted stock rom.
Two things:
I would like to able to prevent the notification sound when sending messages. I thought I could turn it off in Settings but either I cannot understand the meaning of "Use notification sound" or the feature doesn't work ;-)
Also an option to prevent the status bar notification icon and notification entry would be nice.
Otherwise awesome!
[edit]
Oh! One more thing: The web page (https://cloudtosms.appspot.com/) seems to hang when fetching contacts (I have about 250 contacts)...
And of course Google Apps support would also be nice so that I don't have to manually export/import my contacts between two accounts.
[/edit]
./kroogar
AWESOME!
This is what I have been waiting for forever!
Chrome extension is awesome, would love a firefox one, too.
Even better would be a standalone app.
Also push ALL notifications from phone back to the cloud.
You would be truly amazing.
Cannot load page
This morning (as of right now) I cannot load the page https://cloudtosms.appspot.com in either Chrome or Firefox. It seems there is a piece of JavaScript that will not load. The page hangs until the browser complains. It's preventing me from logging in :-(
I'm using Chrome 9.0.570.0 and Firefox 3.6.12.
[edit]
Actually managed to get to the log in page by pressing the Sign in link as soon as the page starts loading. After log in the page still hangs trying to fetch my contacts...
[/edit]
I think this might be the pubnub servers being slow. I might cache their Javascript to fix this problem. Can you confirm if the problem is still occuring?
EDIT: this should be fixed now
the feedbak for this app is really good, but I still don't get what is this for. Maybe a short explanation would be a good idea.
Thanks!

Hmm... now nine hours after my attempt this morning I have conquered the snow and reached home - unfortunately just to realize the problem still occurs :-( In Chrome I'm already signed in and it just sits there fetching contacts. In Firefox I'm not signed in and problem is the same as described earlier.
I have not at any point been able to see my contacts on the web page. They do seem to be loaded just fine in the Chrome extension though...
Maybe you like a another icon? Today i created one... maybe you like it..
Let me know what you think about it
Hrm... Darn Javascript.
If you press ctrl+shift+j in Chrome or Forefox it will show the Javascript error console, does this show you any errors?
Does it work if you browse incognito?
If you want to email me kroogar to get instant responses please feel free (my username at gmail.com)
Sinas: it is a much cleaner icon, I will try it in the build and see how it looks
Installed and working with minimal fuss. Very impressed (currently using sms2pc)
However, despite refreshing the chrome tab only 361 of my 500+ contacts appear. Same happens through the webpage. Happy to help test larger contact lists if it helps
Super job so far.
This app is simple but useful for people that heavily use full screen apps (games/browsers/ect). It gives a nice little notification that shows the text message/email you just received, allowing you to decide if it's worth quitting your app to reply to it (see picture), even if you're in another app! You can turn the notifications on and off via the main screen. The best part of it is you can play and the notification will not interfere with your touch on the game. It might also have the simplest options menu.
FEATURE LIST:
Works with third party SMS applications
Now supports K9 Mail (requires K9 Mail for functionality)
Shows the sender (name from contacts list or number if contact doesn't exist)
Shows the sender and contents of the message
Low profile
Doesn't interfere with the touch interface of whatever task you are doing
Easy to turn on or off just by the touch of a checkbox
Lightweight
No more quitting Angry Birds just to see that someone texted you "lol"
Works in portrait and landscape orientations
Permissions explained:
Read SMS: So that it can read the text to show you
Read contacts: so that it can see if anyone in your contacts shares the same number and the text sender
Please report any bugs to me.
P.S. I know this is a VERY simplistic app and may seem pointless. If you feel that way that is fine, however I have had a lot of people that laughed at it originally tell me they can't use any full screen app without and they never turn it off. So I simply ask you give constructive criticism. Thank you!

Crazy, I was literally just thinking it would be cool to have something exactly like this on my SGS2 when I was playing Star Diamonds Capture... it's an online multiplayer game that you can't really back out of unless you want to risk losing the match, but I always want to make sure I'm not ignoring an important text.
Thanks, I will let you know how it runs and if you stay active as a dev I will support your efforts as much as possible.

Hey guys , lead dev here.
Sorry to hear it's been crashing for you PollPixx. We're pretty sure we've identified the problem and a fix will be rolling out in the next few days.
Hotzigetty: we made a conscious decision to keep version 1.0 very light on settings.
You can adjust all the basic Twitter stuff under Profile -> Edit Profile. Notifications are definitely in the pipeline, but not yet available in 1.0
We're always happy to hear your thoughts and feedback, either here or via e-mail: [email protected]

Hi there!
A simple restart of the app should fix that problem. "Unable to load profile" usually means that Twitter's API is being a bit unstable.
If that doesn't help, try doing doing a "Clear data" from the application settings and re-authenticating with Twitter.
Best regards,
Nick.

Can't seem to reproduce that on our dev devices. Which phone / firmware are you running?
A widget is another thing that's in the works, but we have a bunch of stuff (including notifications) we want to get done before that.

Thanks for this app. I think if it gets some updates that it would be a fine replacement for all the other twitter apps in the play store. Keep up the good effort!

Twitter does have an upper bound on profile image size, but the picture should be getting automatically resized when you pick it from the gallery. At what exact point in the flow does the app crash? Before or after choosing a picture from the gallery?

I'm one of the Tweagle devs and the Wifi turning on is actually not a bug. It's mentioned in the popup after the app has been installed Tweagle uses the Walkbase indoor positioning library (which requires WiFi) to find locations and tweets that are nearby.
One of the cool things we are doing with Tweagle is making it possible to follow locations that interest you, and that's where we need the Walkbase library.
I get that it's weird to have WiFi just turn on like that, but we thought the pros would outweigh the cons (i.e. better results). We are currently planning how to make an opt out option for this.

Hi community, I made an android application to track your invite and share your referral url. Please give it a try and contact me if you have any feedback or suggestions.
With One2Invite you can add your User Id and track your position on the OnePlus 2 invite list. In the application you can see you current position in the invite list, the number of referrals you already have and share your invite url. The application also checks for position updates and produces a notification when your position changes.
To get your User Id just to to your referral URL and the last digits is your User Id.
https://oneplus.net/de/invites?*****=XXXXXX
The XXXXXX is the User Id.
If you find any bug or have any suggestions please contact me.
I am happy to announce that the application is now open source. The repository can be found here: https://github.com/SandroMachado/one2invite
Google removed the app from the Play Store, if you want to use the app just download the apk: https://github.com/SandroMachado/one2invite/releases/download/1.2/app-release1.2.apk
@savadam made a video how the app works, check it here:
Works fine with me. Thanks
Sent from my A0001 using XDA Free mobile app
May i ask how you get the amount of referrals ?
Nope, doesn't work.
Working perfect for me
It would be nice how many positions I lost / won since my last check.
This is interesting...
Good work
Any idea if it's possible to find my user id if I don't have the email? I registered right when they opened and was around 30,000 but apparently deleted the email.

Good jod man.. Did what it says. But OnePlus2 seems to lose it sheen already. Battery sucks and Fingerprint scanner is as troublesome as OnePlus1 camera. Let's see what issue next might be as troublesome as the touch screen issue of OnePlus1. The app just needs to tell how much got bumped behind or forward if that's not asking much??
well I know when I signed up I was like number 120.000 something, just checked with the app and I'm always losing rank, I'm at 213553 now.
How the hell, thankfully I'm not really interested in the phone anymore. I'll keep my oneplus one some longer
Good work. Thanks.
App does not work.

Hi all,
I am happy to announce that the application is now open source.
This new version (1.2) introduced the notification settings menu, where the user can specify how often he wants the application checks for position changes in the invite list.
The repository can be found here: https://github.com/SandroMachado/one2invite
The new version of the app can be downloaded here: https://github.com/SandroMachado/one2invite/releases/download/1.2/app-release1.2.apk
Works well for me!!
Update: Notifies for status change of position.
Getting down and down. When registered i was like 300k+ but now am 2000k+ position.
Anyway OnePlus2 is not a phone to be waiting for. The battery sucks and without quick charge I don't want to add any external power backup as the phone is already heavy. Not my cheese.
