Anybody know all the changes? Auto brightness slider is now orange. It now has Hi-Fi and HDR10 in the video recording. Anything else?

Did we miss a bunch of updates or just skip letters, I'm still on 10g and was looking for an update a few weeks ago and it said there was nothing. I'm refusing to update though holding out for root and usually being on an older firmware is best for that. (Sorry I didn't answer your question)

I didn't notice anything visible. Again maybe it's placebo but the phone feels smoother and faster with the update.

I was thinking the same about another and faster.

Another much needed change is the fact that you can now see other icons on the right side of the status bar. As in, you can visibly see the vibrate only icon, alarm, etc. A much needed improvement for the phone.

Well, the European version is still on 10f, just checked with LG Bridge and no update available

Btw I just saw the Korean version was updated to "N" two days ago

4k at 60 frames per second.

Along with the 4k 60fps update I noticed that the ram management is better. My apps don't just close right after I hop to another. They stay in the memory longer

Wow. It was okay and now it's so much better with ram management. It was so smooth that I totally forgot about the reloads that I get especially with the browsers. I have just cruised through YouTube, Yelp, Chrome, Yandex Browser, Reddit, Google Maps, and Facebook without a single reload or refresh on these apps. The browsers have been my biggest pet peeve. The pages would refresh when you resume but now no more refreshes. This phone just got so much better with this latest 10k update all for $350 on OfferUp brand new.

Yeah man. That's what I was used to when I had the s7 edge. I was so paranoid to tap out of my game and know it had to reload lol

still f in Norway.. checking online update

Maybe also placebo effect or my phone just needed a restart; when taking a photo the photo saves instantly and you can exit out of the camera app right away. Before you'd have to wait or else the photo wouldn't save.

Best part of LG phones are that you don't have to keep on fretting and anticipating about updates..they are few and far between...

Just read on Microsoft news that were due a big update today,so just done a scan and indeed there were 13 updates ranging from flash to a hardware update but by mistake I press the update button so I didn't actually see what all the rest of the patches actually did it came in at about 120mb anyone got any info as mine currently downloading
I didn't get the "System Firmware Update - 12/11/2012" until after installing the other updates so be sure to scan for new updates a second time after rebooting.

Can now have more columns on start screen.

Can you see if you are still able to lock screen rotation via the brightness menu?
[UPDATE]
For some reason my screen got stuck in one direction, and the rotation lock button also disappeared. A quick reboot and she's buzzing along.

Agreed. I rebooted once and it looked like this for about a half hour
Oh, and it does appear that multitasking/switching apps works a little smoother for extended periods

Just applied the update, not noticing any difference yet, except that IE10 asked me if I wanted to re-apply recommended safety settings, to which I said no, because I have turned off MS's flash whitelist so I can use the Napster website.
Haven't noticed any difference to tell you the truth, in fact mine seems a little slower
mine is a lot faster... placebo maybe? but i bet it is faster..

I am on a VIVO Tab RT and I noticed faster performance on my tablet as well.
I'm still unable to connect to my TV with a third-party MicroHDMI-HDMI cable, so I guess I was expecting Microsoft to correct this issue...
Can't say I notice any difference in performance either.

multitasking underwhelming for a 4gb ram phone?

Not sure if its due to some bugs or just how huawei prioritizes their memory but man do apps just randomly close a bit too frequently, sometimes even switching between 2 apps! The most recent example is if I'm listening to pocketcast and I take a picture, the audio stops and when I return to that app it does a fresh open.
it's somehow worse than my iphone 6 plus which I hated because the 1gb of ram wasn't enough.
This is on the US version. Maybe I should pick up a OP3T... but I swear the other 4gb ram android phones i've used were better at this.
Wonder if there are any tweaks I can do to help?
It's probably just their aggressive battery management. Try from battery optimization settings to check if your podcast app is set to close when not in use.

I have both the 3T and the Mate 9. I was going to sell the 3T but I am now considering going back to it and selling the Mate 9. I have noticed some freezing that goes on when I open apps. It doesn't happen a lot but I do notice sometimes I will click on an app it will freeze for a few seconds and then the app will open. I already reset the phone and it still occurs. Or I will be watching a movie in google movies and I go to exit out of the app and it'll freeze for a few seconds before exiting.
There are also app compatibility issues. When in google movies, if you try to adjust the volume the whole screen will turn black until you close the volume slider.
- Hulu does not work it just shows a black screen. Another user said I need to call Hulu to get it working because the default stream codex they are using doesnt work with the mate 9
- Google voice doesn't work consistently.

nah thats fine. the only time was with the camera... which itself is kind of a slog. Weirdly stuttery when most of the os is smooth. Wonder if there is a memory leak... or does leica tech requires all the 960 to do anything?
emui 5.0 might need a bit more in the oven.
I did have problem previously that runkeeper always closed when I switched to other app. But with latest software it's fixed

Tablet having a plethora of issues

I'm beyond confused on what to do right now. The tablet is having problems left and right and Im just so confused, and no answers from Google are helping me.
Basically, I have three problems. First, the tablet cannot boot past the Nvidia logo. Second, the battery charges EXTREMELY SLOWLY. It took ten hours to get to 35%, and I fell asleep waiting for it to get one percent. And third, it discharges rapidly while on with the charger.
To note what I did, I installed TWRP, did numerous factory resets, and installed LineageOS. However, it just won't boot. Sp I am now here. Please help, I have no more options.

I can revert it to stock. Will that work?
It's best to not update the OS ever. As long as it works. Also, Google auto update should be deactivated. In general, updates are bad. They take storage and eat performance in 80% of the case.

Regardless, this means nothig for the battery. I've also never seen updates ruin a device. For example, updates actually saved my phone out of brick. If not for Cyanogen, this phone would've stayed bricked.
OEM updates usual ruin the performance. That's my experience.
I've tried numerous 7.1.2 custom Nougat roms and have recently gone back to stock 5.2 and have to say that the device works a lot better.

70% of statistics are made up.
After the 5.2 update, my K1 is running a bit smoother/faster than before. Particularly screen rotation, opening keyboard, opening apps & going back to home screen.
Battery life is as it was before the update.
One of the previous updates (5.1?) similarly improved performance a bit.

Experiences will vary. But that goes with just about any software change, be it an OEM update, custom ROM, kernel, etc. For every person that says the performance, battery, etc. is better; there will be another that says it's worse.
There are lots of variables in how you use the device, what apps, etc.

I can only speak for my own experience. Why fix something that isn't broken?
Oh yeah! Newer version number. And there must be something better about it then. Maybe more ads, or more data tracking.. who knows? Well, the devs know.^^

Security updates, for one thing.
As for ads and data tracking, you're making up problems that don't even exist.

In essence, I could blame the OEM when I got hacked? Really?
Quite frankly, that's yet another excuse to make people more gullible. 1984 all the way..

Yes, the comments by this user are over-generalized, hyperbolic, and nonsensical. They add little value to this forum. Just sounds like a guy that had a bad experience once or twice, and now has an axe to grind with every update on every device. Ever.

1st update on my Indian Moto x4

Hey guys just received 1st update from Moto let's see what's all improvement done.
Yup. They sent it out yesterday. Says it improves depth mode. I tested it and I should say it does have slight improvement however I still experience foreground blur on my face and my body. Don't worry i won't post any selfies ? here ? . But I'm still kind of disappointed. Anyways, if you want better foreground focus in portrait mode, I suggest using the paid version of "Camera FV-5" app from the playstore. It doesn't have a very strong blur like the stock camera, but at least it manages to focus properly. Other software improvements I'm yet to test but so far I'm really glad that at least motorola (lenovo) rolled out an update!

I hope the memory management, and lag in apps like play store and Twitter shld be gone with Oreo. Really annoying. Anybody else have this problem or it's only me??

Question April Update Exynos UK

Currently downloading the new software update on UK Exynos with April Security Patch. Hopefully this fix's alot of issues we are having! 1.3gb download.
At least the GPS issues, the audio sync issues and my wifi issues seem to be fixed
Let's see how this firmware holds
Yes babyyyyyyy
AVCJ - 1400MB almost - HUGE!
Same update here in Slovakia. Have to find any difference yet. I hope that Android Auto got fixed, gonna try tomorrow.

The audio lag bug seems fixed. But at still a lot of lag in the UI, notifications especially, and yes noise in photos. Not really much of an improvement. My patience with this phone is wearing really thin. Time to sell it and never buy Exynos again.

I got no faith in Samsung rectifying this one. The hardware is just too throttled. Only so much software can do

Yes. It's not big, but it's there.
I'm using the Snapdragon with "AVC9" FW build.
Today i've get on Romania update for S22 Ultra Exynos model and after this update settings button from camera app doesn't work (camera force close without error). I've tried to delete cache for camera app (problem was still there) and after that i go to fastboot menu (poweroff, connect cablu to my laptop, power on + volume up) and there i reset the cache partition and then accessed the last option "fix applications". Now settings button on camera work again. Before was ok!
PS: second problem was with S-pen... in middle of the screen doesn't receive any input (aprox. 10x10mm was disable but with finger work without any issue). This problem disappeared after I restarted the phone.
