Pertty sure u cant cuz the bootloader and modem are unique to ur device and without a 6.0.1 bootloader for your device it will just bootloop

I know you can't wait to try marshmallow on the i variant. The marshmallow bootloader and modem are meant for F variant. Best wait for unifed S6 rom or official I variant marshmallow.
Loving 14nm Exynos

Can you try 920F VOD firmware and confirm if it is working?
I also have 920I and cant wait to get my hands on MM
Dude I was about to install it but gave up when I realized that would have to use a pit file. I don't want to end up with a locked bootloader if any problem happens

are you on 920F VOD? or locked to any carrier?
if not locked, you can flash the unlocked versions of MM 920F, as I dont think you need pit files as some guys have flashed 920F MM over 920F 5.1.1 without pit.
Tried several times with ODIN. Fails everytime. Lost my phone data as well while trying when I formatted everything without a backup. I am a Certified retard!
Ok so myself and also some other people on the Australia post have tried to flash the G920F MM firmware (VOD or XEF) on a G920i and it has never worked - coming from a Custom 5.1.1 Rom or an official 5.1.1.
Odin simply refused to flash the firmware so you actually don't lose any data and don't damage your phone.

Hi
Have your firends and you tried to convert your G920i 5.1.1 to a G920f 5.1.1 first, before trying to update to MM?
I ask because one user up in the thread said that he had successfully flash a Mexico G920f 5.1.1 firmaware to his G920i 5.1.1 phone.... but he did not flash with MM, because he was scared of flashing a pit file...
Thanks!
G920I
I have a Galaxy S6 , G920I model for the other models, or at least for the G920F , the marshmallow was released, how do you have the new update in my G920i ? Who can help me thank you.

[Q] PIT files, MM and regional firmwares.

Hello,
I bought a galaxy s6 in Latam (g-920i) before returning to Europe (Spain). It is network unlocked, so it works perfectly. Turns out that the Latam firmwares (g920i) for marshmallow are being left behind in comparison to other regions as Europe (g920f). I have compared both phones (i/F) and they are identical, so I am feeling moved to flash a g920f firmware on my phone. When I try it, it fails. In the very beginning, I thought that it failed because the model name was wrong, so once rooted, I changed it in /system. Nothing happened, so I am assuming that the firmware fails because there is some sort of different partition set between g920i and g920f.
My question is, if I flash a g920f pit file on my s6 (originally g920i), will it firstly not brick it, and then enable me to flash a g920f firmware?
Thanks for your help.
Be good boy and never mess your device flashing stock fw with different phone version. BTW this is belong to Q&A section

Just wait 2 week and we will get marshmallow on our 920i and don't brick you phone

S6 regional firmware + pit files

Hello,
I have checked several threads and didnt find anything specific, so i am going to try and explain myself. I have a SM-G920I phone (galaxy s6), bought in America. I am living in Europe and I have unlocked the network with a code gotten from Samsung. The network and band works great and there is nothing wrong with it even tho the European g920f firmware and g920i have slightly different band/modem.
My friend has a g920f and I have checked in depth her phone and it is exactly the same as mine in everything.
So yes, I want to flash a g920f firmware on my g920i firmware. Please, don't mind why I do it, it is not relevant to my experiment.
I have flashed a modified kernel to my s6 (Droid 5.1.1) in order to root it and back my efs up. Once that is done, I know that if I brick my phone, I can bring it back as long as I have the efs. So okay, I flashed a g920f firmware (Mm) and it failed. I did some research and i guess that there is a file in the md5 which recognizes that my phone is not a g920f and rejects the updating. I have read about pit files and I have seen that all of them set different partition sizes, so I guess that may be another reason why I can't flash the 920f firmware -some file is larger than the current g920i partition-
My question is, if the g920f and g920i phone are TOTALLY equal in hardware, why does it fail? Please, don't give me a silly reason. I am expecting a technical reason.
Also, if I flash on my 920i a pit file according to the g920f firmware, will I be able to flash the F firmware later? If not, why?
Don't worry about band or modem. I will be happy if it gets flashed without any network. It is an experimental thing (i can always go back and flash a g920i firmware)
Thank you!

Note edge n915g converting to n915fy

I am wondering if I can use odin to flash the UK firmware to my N915G device.
I am not new to the odin flashing I just haven't ever tried to put a different build of firmware on my device.
I used odin to update from 5.1.1 to 6.0.1 going from the Taiwanese N915G firmware to the indian one however I am now considering trying to flash the FY firmware
If someone knows if this will work that will be great
I use this as my daily driver so don't really want to brick it
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks
