I just rooted my tmobile S2 T989 and deleted many factory apps and unused service, then it comes out the problem with the Market. I actually can enter the Market, browsing and searching apps. But when I try to download the app, the screen freeze and after 3 seconds ,a force close messege pops out. I tried to re-install the Market.apk, the problem still there. I wonder if it's because of some factory programs I deleted. I remember I deleted the marketupdate servie and some account related service. Is that the main reasons that causing this problem? If so, is there any ways I can fix this? please help....
Wrong forums buddy.
Hi Everyone,
OK, I am completely new to using tablets and android (and XDA! ) but I recently bought an Android tablet and although I put AV s/w on it I seem to have caught a bug. The problem is that, apparently, my settings app is now malware and it seems the only option to resolve it is to uninstall my settings application. Understandably I don;t want to forge ahead and do this because then I cannot manage my device. Anyone got any suggestions or can point me somewhere that could help? I have trawled the internet for an answer but haven't found anywhere reporting the same thing, so far. I am flummoxed and getting very frustrated. Also, any recommendations for malware prevention apps? Ta.
Thanks for taking time to read this. Sorry if it's in the wrong place!
You do know you should provide more details like which phone, which firmware, what antivirus app, etc.
But the simplest answer you would get is to stop using antivirus apps. Because most of them are hoaxes or give false results. There is nothing wrong with your settings app. I suggest you uninstall the AV app first.

It's not a phone, it's just a no-mark tablet (Tabtronics, if that makes any difference).
Seeing as the last several days (maybe a week now) it has had serious performance issues -- crashing, rebooting itself without my initiating it, not turning on for long periods, notification messeges telling me apps don't work when I have never tried to use them -- I'd say this is not a false result. And the AV (Avast) is the same brand I've been using on my desktop for years and has always been fiine, and I've had no problems with it until the last week.
Seems odd that the assumption here is that there isn't a problem, when there are a shed load of articles online stating how vulnerable Android is to malware. Unfortunately I can't find any that tell you where to go/ what to do in order to get rid of the bug. :crying:
Anyway, thanks for the reply.

Here's a good discussion that might interest you:

As for the issues you have, I would attribute it to either a rogue app or low memory. Try uninstalling any apps you recently installed. Also, try clearing app caches, freeing memory etc. See if that helps.
i keep getting a mcafee site security when i on chrome on my g2 from verizon. like i log into facebook from chrome and as soon as click a notifaction it pops up site unsafe but if click read report it says safe, it just started this tonight while i was surfing and i dont even have mcafee on my phone, i downloaded and run a few different scanners and they found nothing, i cleared all data from chrome and ran more scans. it would still pop up in browser chrome but then it just stopped. just wondering if my phone is safe or what to do?

Does the 'xxx' in the warning message stand for an app name? Are you sure from which app the message was?
Do a factory reset. Nothing to loose if you haven't used it much.
Be careful what you load next time... if you did load any apps on it.

I came up with this in a google search:
[solved] All my apps (even system) crash randomly, Asus can't fix it
Hi, At some times my ASUS ZenFone 3 (ZE520KL) phone is unusable but Asus's after-sales service does not find the problem and simply updates it when I send it to them. I haven't figured out what's causing the problem. This can happen to me...

If a factory reset doesn't solve it, it may be a hardware failure.

Hello all,
Thank you so much for the replies. I did manage to sort this out. It is a corruption of Google Play Services. Uninstalling and installing it again solves the problem.
This happens frequently, I gather, as I found online many people facing the same problem

Yay
Clearing it's data may be all that's needed.
I clear this messy apk's data a lot as well as firewall block it most of the day.

I forgot to mention that I had written the string "xxx" to mean that the problem appeared with any and all my apps.
Hello everyone. I'm having a new issue with my Android phone, I keep getting a pop up stating no_permission_read_phone_state. What is causing this? It just started very early yesterday and continues about every time I touch my phone...have I been hacked or what, does anybody know the why or how about this pop up and possibly a quick way of stopping it? I appreciate any help, I do Alot on my phone and don't need any hacker gaining access to my phone...this started while I was discussing the buying of a vehicle which I found out before I lost any money was a scammer trying to rob me, that's why I'm concerned with this pop up. I don't know if it's related but it sure is coincidental at best.....

Can u please provide screenshots
if it's still happening check in settings / notifications and you should be able to work out from the frequency it happens which app is sending it.
Model of phone.
Try a hard reboot.
Clear system cache

I'll try but it happens usually quicker than I can get to my buttons...but I'll get it, it might take me a while...
It seems that some app installed on your device was requesting the permission of READ_PHONE_STATE. Go through all apps installed on your device.

Putting it in safe mode is a quick way to test that.
Android Services maybe the what's putting up the notification.
Find the app and either grant needed permissions, block its notifications, or uninstall it.
