Hey all. So recently I installed Google Pixel 2 sounds in my device by downloading the zip from a website and then moving them to system -> media. But the lock and unlock sound aren't working. Everything else works. All the sounds work and are amazing. But for some reason the lock and unlock sounds aren't working. I have them enabled in settings and other places but no luck. Help would be appreciated
Never mind. Fixed it but installation through Magisk. But the lock sound is low. Any fix for that?

I have version 5.0.1 with pattern lock, with the apps Lockwatch & Smart Lockscreen Protector.
But it's useless when anyone can just access the quick settings from the lockscreen and switching off Wifi/Data or turning on airplane mod..
There is any way to block access to this toggles? Or even to the whole Quick Settings?
I can live without access to the flashlight in lockscreen if that a problem..

Wrong section bro, post in Q&A, by the way, why would you bother someone disconnecting your wifi and Bluetooth, they can't turn on 4g and all that things which cost money in monthly plan.
One scenario comes in mind. When you lose your phone and want to use device manager to find the phone. If someone stole your phone, can easily put it in airplane mode so you can't locate it
Wonder why Google can miss this. Just like screen still turn on when on pocket with ambient display ON.
If you unlocked, you can try Cataclysm or N5X. Both has option to disabled it. Hope this help.
Slimlp also has this. Stock, no
Im unlocked, but "clean" rooted (stock rom+recovery+kernel with cf-auto root).
Since google added SELinux at enfoce mod by default in Lollipop (which avoids OTA installing at any state of Root), i'm considring to install a custom room.
But if to be honest, I really don't want to (I hate to mess around with all that thanks the crappy Galaxy S3 I had.. I bought the Nexus 5 in thought I could stay with stock+OTA and enjoy "clean" root+Xposed.. Apparently Google had other plans )
So if someone have an idea to avoid access to wifi/data/aiplane mod toggles from lockscreen, I will be happy to hear.

As already stated, only with custom ROM. There is no other answer.
By the way, I had an s3. This phone is completely different. Don't let the s3 put you off flashing on the n5

Anyone can press the power button on your phone too.
Quick access to the radios is useful.
Until 4.2/4.2.2 anyone could just connect a cable to your phone and use ADB to pull everything off.
Don't give your phone to strangers or place in unsafe places.

None of this is possible with a locked screen. Accessing the radios on a locked screen can prevent you tracking it. Sure, like you say, it can be turned off not another issue is accessing the guest account and installing malicious apps and making calls. Bit of a security hole if you ask me.

Not with a recovery lock and locked bootloader. At least my data is safe. Whats wrong with wanting a safe phone? Why have a lock at all if it can be semi-bypassed by quick settings.
You're right though, would be nice of TWRP also had recovery lock. At least we still have philz for now.
But yeah, I can get YOUR data no matter what you do, even after factory reset, but doesn't mean everyone can.
Its kind of like say "dont bother locking your doors because we can break your windows". We all still lock our doors.
I also think that this is a very serious issue.
When I lock my phone I want it to be locked completely not partially.
Have anyone figured how to disable quick access on locked screen (locked with password, pin or pattern)?
And also to remove camera icon?
The only thing i want on my lock screen is to enter my password and see notifications (this is something I am able to do alredy =))
Thank you!
I am hoping on an xposed module

The 'Quick settings' menu can be edited - when the phone is unlocked open quick settings panel and tap and hold any of its icons, you will be allowed to remove or add some functionalities. Just remove 'airplane mode' and 'mobile data'. This way when the phone is locked no one can disable its connectivity.
The drawback is that you can't switch the airplane mode easily even when the phone is unlocked.
Or am I missing it ?

I noticed this too. I mainly use Spotify and the music playing doesn't show up on the lockscreen. I have to unlock the phone to access the Spotify app.
Problem solved
You have to go into settings, Notification center, Notice management, and from there select your app. You have to turn on the important notice. After that you will be able to skip the music, etc from the lockscreen! Good luck.
That does not work for the built in music app, bummer.
That worked only once for me.
Hey all - quick question. I have had this happen at least twice. My phone is set on vibrate or silent/no vibration. The phone locks. Then I unlock it with either fingerprint or Iris scan, and then the audio is toggled back to standard sound and I can see the audio icon change! This is not good if I was in a meeting, movie, etc.
Has anyone else had this happen? Do I have some weird setting ticked that I can't find? Background - bought this used on swappa, unlocked Verizon variant, and I flashed tmobile firmware and carrier switched with no issues at all - except this.
I tried to enable Smart Lock and have run into a couple issues which no amount of searching gave way to results. I'm on a stock unrooted device.
Is there a way to make this feature work based on location? Seems to not work in locations where I set it to. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling google play services to no avail. Rebooting does nothing to fix.
Sometimes when I try to view the Smart Lock settings, after entering the pin/pattern nothing appears in the menu at all. Very buggy. Does this feature just plain suck or something? I'd rather not use face unlock, but this might force me to.

I have issues like this. Supposedly, smart Lock not working by location is a bug from Google not op. It is very hit or miss

I wonder if this is an Oreo issue and if it will be fixed in P. Very annoying. I may just drop security all together. I didn't have it on my last phone for over 3 years. I like the idea of it, but not being able to unlock the phone while driving and at "trusted" places is pretty useless.

Agreed
And the fingerprint unlock not fast enough for you. I do it in one motion. Pick up phone and unlock just like that

It has nothing to do with speed and everything to do with convenience. Let's not forget that GOOGLE is the one who added the feature. Oreo has been out, in general, for a while. It should just plain work. If I'm at home, why should there be a lock on my device? When I'm out however, it just makes sense to be locked down. Adding a feature that actually doesn't work or works some of the time, is something you'd think they'd have caught during Oreo testing at Google; particularly, as it's an issue with Android, not manufacturers. Even my wife's Galaxy S9+ has this issue.
@thejase
I get that but I don't use it as I'm the opposite phone should be locked when not in my hand never know what will happen, who may come over to visit I have lots of nieces and nephews. One who grabs any phone he can.
But I meant it to be fast enough that it's as if it's not locked.
If you want to stick with
Smart lock have you tried use the voice feature it may work.
Also look into Tasker I seem to remember someone using it to unlock the device based on location. I use it to turn on and off my Wi-Fi based on location. Auto start my music when in my truck.

Seems to be working better today. Disabled the "smart lock" in trust agents setting under fingerprint and security, then booted to the stock recovery and wiped the cache only. (I'm not rooted yet, but TWRP would work for this as well). Seems to have led to a fix, but it could be temporary. As for usefulness of smart lock, I am not worried about others in my own home taking my device and combing through it for all I care. If you have kids or are concerned about content on your phone being messed with, just don't use the feature. For a lot of people, it is a useful feature to have.
This issue has returned and requires a cache wipe almost every day. Beyond annoyed. I am considering deleting my fingerprints or any security. Pretty stupid feature that makes the phone require a password every single time I want to use it, when this feature could have alleviated that in so many places where I know my phone is safe (home, work, car).
Oneplus 6 - Phone unlocks with smart lock off on Android P
I don't use smart lock option in my phone but after upgrading to Android P, even when the smart lock option is off, my phone screen opens when picked immediately as it is supposed to show the screen is locked. Any suggestions please
Hello guys,
I am looking for a way to disable the long vibration that OOS11 introduced for face unlock not detecting or recognizing a face.
Every time I read notifications on lockscreen the phone does a long vibration as if I was receiving a call, and this is very annoying.
I know that it happens on 6T as well, couldn't find any solution online so far..
Ps. my phone is rooted and with working Magisk and TWRP, so if there is anything that I should do to erase this vibration, let me know please.
thank you!

This is annoying as heck indeed. I tried to find a way to somehow turn this vibration off but failed. I was so annoyed that I had to ditch OOS 11 just because of this. Please share if you find or have already found any way to bypass this vibration without disabling face unlock. Thanks
