I tried all new versions of Uc browser but i am still using 10.8.0, because we can resume download by changing links. App size and response are good too, but there are some issues . Like limitation of 10 tabs, asking permission every time you play a video.
So i was wondering if we can edit old version to open 20 tabs like new version or we can copy paste some file from new version to do that, in apk editor pro (android).
If removing video play permission and disabling cloud download option is possible, that will be a plus.
Plz only reply on this topic. Dont reply like use new version or that browser or something else.

I don't use this browser myself and there's no way to apply the changes from the new release to an older version without the source code from places like Github and others.
You may be able to obtain some member guidance within the following threads that's specific to the UC Browser.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3086944

I'll check to see if there's additional threads regarding the Tab Limitations and if it can be modified but, while I do, see if you can obtain some member guidance within one of the above tabs.
I don't do this often and it may take some time before i can get to it...

@vikass17, There's approx 30+ versions between the version your currently using and latest release.
If you go to the following link...
https://www.apkmirror.com/uploads/?q=uc-browser
... There's a list of them all.
I know that this may take time but, it would actually be quicker for you to go through them and see if there's a version where this Tab Limitation stops.
Please let me know which one...

I have checked all versions. This was the last version where they supported download resume by creating dltemp files, from that you can resume download even after months by changing links.
I used the exact site for trying all versions.

Yes, i checked latest version download resume is back, but still if it's possible i want to use old version. Modified version gives a sense of pride too (if you know what i mean
In newer versions size is gone 41mb from 16 mb, there are too many ads (like free mx player) everywhere, and some minor features are missing. All this makes older version more attractive.
And i wanted to know for sure if its really possible or not, so i can try on other apps.
I have done simple things like changing background or sounds, removing ads and some features with moderate success (and it really feels nice). Its like a version of app just for you.

It looks like this feature cannot be modified on the current version because of the DRM Security they placed within the app.
This security makes it a challenge because of the Kotlin dependencies that are still being worked on by iBotPeaches for the Apktool.
I may not be able to do much besides changing the version of the older working one to the current version.

I use Astro File Manager (free app). Dolphin browser (also free app) does great with downloads from the web. I then Open Astro, Use Astro's Search feature to search for "apk" or "netflix", then you can install the APK file from there.
Probably a very stupid question, but can't seem to access the thread for NetFlix App.

Okay, I'm quite sure this is an utterly stupid question, but I've dug around in the FAQ's and the general forums and can't see an answer so I'm going to risk being flamed as a noob to ask. When I try loading the link (above) for the Netflix app, I consistently get a message that I do not have permission to access the page, and that new users (with under 10 posts) aren't permitted to POST to the Devel forums.
I'm not trying to post - just to access the thread, and since it says "To encourage this new Users can read but not post in these forums." I assume that I should be able to view the thread. Am I missing something incredibly stupid and obvious, or doing something wrong, or is it just that you're unable to even view anything in the development-related forums until you have more than 10 posts?
Thanks to anyone who is kind enough to reply and open my eyes on this. If you really want to flame me for being a noob feel free, but it won't bother me any. I know my status, and my limits.

The red is fine, that's the version I was looking for anyways. I wouldn't have minded it as much if it were clear that it was part of the noob restrictions, but it seemed like the message was saying two different things so I wasn't sure.

As anyone should know, today is the last day Adobe Flash player can be downloaded or installed from the Android Market (Google Play Sex Store).
Knowing this, I haven't seen any "archive" thread put up of current versions for phone/tablet/phablet, that way, after the fact, people can still come and download/install Adobe Flash even it isnt from the Market.
My request then is for anyone with a device to upload the current .apk they have for Adobe Flash Player with version # so we can keep the gates open for those who need/want the Flash player. Ill start off with my the one from my device. Please feel free to follow the naming convention I use. (AirDroid makes this REALLY easy)
Last note: Please dont waste posts with "outdated" or "pointless activity", I myself still make use of several sites with Flash as well as many friends/family and even clients with Android devices. (half of the sites I use flash on offer HTML5... for a fee, and thus flash is FREE)

Wow thanks a lot, that came in handy! :good:
Where did you get it from? I noticed it is in version 1.0.2 (see Settings > About), however latest version on CM GitHub (github.com/CyanogenMod/android_packages_apps_CMFileManager/tree/cm-11.0) only says 1.0.1 in its changelog... Did you extract it from a ROM? Any idea why this version (with actualised changelog) cannot be found anywhere on CM infrastructure (gerrit, github...)?

You mean, compared to building from source ? This wasn't the reason why I was asking: I was just trying to find a definitive answer on "what's the latest version of this app", and official source code is always the best option to sort out such enquiry
It seems strange to me that most ROMs have an 1.0.2 version while CM repos don't seem to contain anything higher than 1.0.1 (by changelog comparison). So my question remains: where does that updated version come from?
Cheers

I thought so at first, but if you look at this branch's CHANGELOG.md file, you'll see it hasn't been modified in two years and mentions the "1.0.1" version as the latest one. This is why I've precisely mentioned the branch URL in my first post, but because of my inability to post links you might have overlooked it Thanks for your investigations nonetheless!

Makes sense Is it a recurring part in any Android app (I'm no dev so pardon the naivety of my question(s))? Still, I believe think they could update that CHANGELOG.md file at some point, that would clear up some confusion...
Do you know of any other good free/libre file manager? Although this one quite pleased me when I discovered Cyanogenmod a few weeks ago (I'm pretty new to Android, just got my first droid phone last month), which is why I wanted to install it on my current OmniROM, it doesn't seem to be actively developed. I'm just wondering which features I could have a need for in the near future that this file manager doesn't offer... Thanks.

In this case it's raw text, but you can put images in there as well (any files in fact). Files in res/raw won't be processed/compiled, it'll just be added to the package.
For example, in CMFileManager the changelog (excerpt):
Code:
Version 1.0.2
-------------------
* move bookmarks and history into a navigation drawer (by Florian Edelmann)
If you wanted to use that in strings.xml you would have to put them in <string> tags:
Code:
<string name="changelog">Version 1.0.2
-------------------
* move bookmarks and history into a navigation drawer (by Florian Edelmann)
</string>
(For those reading this in Tapatalk, you can't see the xml tags since it handles it differently)
In some cases it can cause issues, and it's sometimes it's better not to clog up strings.xml with a large amount of text (like this changelog). Also easier to modify in some cases (again, like a changelog).
I use Root Explorer, but it's a paid app. There's a free version but afaik it can't modify files which need root access.

Nice, thanks for the tip this looks interesting! However, as the author says in the app description he builds them himself when he has time to do so. Therefore pulling them from a current nightly or latest M release (as Lethargy mentioned) seems to be as good (and that is one less person to rely upon). I also wanted to replace omniROM's Launcher3 by CM's Trebuchet, so I'll have a go at it (thanks to MultiROM ).

Thanks for your explanations, I better understand now.
Concerning the file manager, I'm looking specifically for free/libre software app (as in "open source", but I don't like this expression and prefer to stick to Richard Stallman's definition). A search in F-Droid didn't turn in that many results, so that's why I was asking "at large"... I know many apps on the Play Store are libre software, but because the store doesn't mention their license it gets pretty tricky to find them. I try to always favour free/libre apps when I can.

I'm not too sure of any others then. :silly: I'd just stick to CM File Manager if you specifically want a decent one that's open source. I just prefer Root Explorer over CM File Manager since it's a little better for root file management and it can access SMB (so I can access files on my PC without bothering to plug in my USB cable so often).
Maybe look around XDA for one.

Makes sense. Well for now I'm indeed fine with CMFM, and I've found a few alternatives thanks to http://alternativeto.net/software/open-manager/?license=opensource&platform=android (still can't post links sorry okay, now it looks like I can, that's nice). Anyway, thanks for your replies!

Hello, could I ask if you know who is the official dev of Adhell3?
I would LOVE to see sub-service control for Google Play Services. The idea of hiding it is apparently to protect the users, but system services is exactly what needs to be controlled the most.
Could you please, pretty please, somehow release a version that also lists system apps when viewing service control? I am sick and tired of GPS drain and the way I could control that in Android 7 was by disabling a significant number of them (mostly analytic/datamining-related services, and some location services).
Alternatively, I might try to re-build the app with this modification myself, but I am nowhere near as good in java to do that yet. If the dev can see this - please give us more control. And THANK YOU for giving us any kind of sub-service and permission control at all. Nobody else did this for us since Oreo. THANKS!!

Same name here as in Gitlab.
It's a simple change in Android Studio for what you're looking for if you build the app itself. It's just changing 1 line.
Too bad that adhell 3 doesn't have a Dark or Black mode - Was really easy to install & get it verified ?
I'm still using notSABS on of my devices & BK Manager on another - Not really sure if there's much (if any) difference between notSABS & adhell 3....? ?

Adhell3=Old News
I have been using adguard premium for months now and I would have to say it how much better application for blocking ads and unwanted spyware being tracked, etc.
EDIT:I'm only speaking on my personal experience I'm not trying to down talk adhell3 in anyway

How can I remove blocks which I had before the key has expired?

Since Adhell3 is no longer under active development, it matters little, but they are two different animals. Adhell is/was merely a tool to configure the underlying Knox firewall and YOU decided what it should and should not block. While Adguard's DNS server is one of the suggested alternatives, the full Adguard app gives you only very limited choices and uses additional resources.

Simply uninstall Adhell and your Knox settings will revert to default.
I recently published a small app named Street Media. Now I wanted to add an update to the app but https://labs.xda-developers.com won't let me add another build. It says invalid signing key for app. I am pretty sure that key is valid because I used the same key when I added the first build.
The same thing happened to me a few days back and then I had to create a new app and submit the update. Also I had to unpublish the older one. But in that scenario I changed the siging key so I thought maybe it needed the same signing key so I created a new app and submitted the apk file but now it is giving me the error again. I use Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 with Xamarin to build the app and it works fine. I am not sure what am I doing wrong while uploading the new build.
Can someone assist me here? It can be a bug within the website but I am not sure. I can provide the apk file if needed. Thank you.

That error message is regarding the different signatures you used to sign the app currently on the Labs Store and the one you're trying to upload.
If you used a different signature key, than the last one currently on the Labs Store, to sign the app your trying to upload, then you will need to either sign the current one with the same signature key as the last one OR remove all the app versions currently on the Labs Store in order to upload the current version with the new key.
I hope that I had explained this okay via text...

Thank you for replying. I think I explained above that I didn't use another signing key this time. I used the same signing key as I did for the first build. I also checked it with the apksigntool and the apk is signed properly.
So according to your suggestion I should remove the first build completely from the app page and then add the next build again to remove this warning. I'll experiment with it and report back.
Update:
It did not resolve the issue. I tried to delete the existing build and then when I uploaded a new one it still showed the error so I just created a new app and uploaded the new build there. Maybe someone needs to look into it.

Maybe you can start by reading around this post in case it could help: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/labs-t3241866/post74890303
Maybe the package name could be the culprit? Or something else?
If no luck, you can try to send a PM blk_jack.

I was thinking the Package Name but, would a "Signature Key" error be a result of a different Package Name?
It would be great (if it were possible) to have some type of listing of Labs Store error messages and what they would entail.
Maybe this would fall into @blk_jack area or even the Technical Area that @bitpushr would know. I've got a feeling that this may already exist... LMAO!!!
Thank you very much for responding My Friend!

Well thank you for your time guys. I have not changed package name or any properties in the package except the version codes. But I also found out that Xamarin does a weird thing while signing the apk. If you create a new keystore with full name and other properties it only recognises the full name in it and ignores other properties while signing the apk. So every time it will sign the app with DN: CN=Full Name and thats it but I also had the C=PK with it and that never gets added. This is one of the reasons why it shows the apk has been signed differently.
Anyway it is a problem with Xamarin but it signs the apk properly in any case. So now I'd just PM the mentioned person and see what they have to say about it. Thank you again.
Same issue, is there a way to upload my new build with new signature?
Because I lost my old signature
Edit: I found a solution for that.
The solution is unpublish the project that you can't upload a new build and create a new one in developer admin console and upload your new build signed with your new key signature. Its my workaround for now.
