ONLY FOR Qualcomm SM-N9600
Team Win Recovery Project 3.x, or twrp3 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.
This will trip knox to 0x1, your phones warranty will be voided, flash at your own risk. Also, this process will wipe your personal data!
HOW TO INSTALL:
0. Make sure you enabled developer settings by pressing the build number several times and have the OEM unlock enabled.
1. Boot into download mode by pressing: bixby, volume down and power
2. Download the latest Odin version, open it
3. Download the recovery file from below and put it into the AP tab
4. Untick "auto reboot" in odin and flash the file
5. After flashing, boot into twrp. Make sure to NOT allow system to be modified till you disable dm-verity! (otherwise your phone will be stuck at bootloop).
6. In order to fully and properly root, you will need to flash my kernel found here and flash Magisk.
7. To disable encryption you need to flash this RMM_patch+forceencrypt_remover.zip for pie or multidisabler.zip and forceencrypt_disabler_q.zip for Android 10 and format data. (can opt out of the forceencrypt_disabler if you want but internal storage will be inaccessable)

Yeah @klabit87 Awesome work man! Thank you so much for doing this for us!
Everyone that uses this needs to donate to this guy. He doesn't even own the device and still went out of his way to compile and test this for us. He's a great developer.
Mtp and adb do not work right now. I will work on that this weekend.

S5 is the most expensive phone so people wouldn't dare to test it on the phone now.

well, rooting lets you use apps like titanium backup, to backup apps+data. make a nandroid backup. install apps that needs root, install xposed modules, which neglates the point of roms... its very good. even without custom roms, if you are still new in this. please read a lot first before doing anythin above.

This recovery feature almost identical to official TWRP recovery for bullhead (including system image and EFS backup) + f2fs support (tested on /cache partition, compatible ROM/kernel needed). Aroma support need more test, AromaFM 2.00b7 working great so far.

Tell me You can try it without a flash using "fastboot boot recovery.img" command. Touchscreen issue depend on your ROM kernel version, should be no problem for MIUI 7.2.1.0 or 7.2.3.0 or unofficial ROM with kernel built from Xiaomi source. Maybe I will build fully compatible kernel for stock ROM but currently I still focus on my own device tree source.

I usually don't say anything, but in a thread that haven't even exceeded one page yet we already have two questions about something that is mentioned in the first post...
- Me, I'll be sending a donation in Alberto's direction (2BB85874JN261344W) to show my interest in a maintained device after which I will continue with my installs and exploration of the phone. I bought this one as a "backup" to my One Plus One, but the mere fact that this one has FM Radio (which the OPO don't have) just might make it my primary device.
You are right. Sorry for pushing hard?

Good discovery. One thing to be aware of: The touch screen does not work. You need to use it via OTG.
From the link:
"You have to slide for the TWRP work well. But you have to remember that the touch does not work. Therefore we have to connect a mouse for OTG. "
I just checked it out. Its good news but seems like a very long process. Touch doesnt work, have to connect a mouse, the TWRP itself is in Spanish. But still good news.

Yeah, read the part about the touch... they say it's a common (and inherited because the original recovery doesn't have touch) thing with these phones. Can't really comment on that since I don't have that much experience from using twrp in different phones (only SGS3 and Opo) My old Desire still uses clockwork mod recover.
About the language being Spanish... from what I understand that is just the default language and one of the screenshots do seem to indicate that you can switch to English.
I'm not really bothered by neither the touch part nor by the language. I only have to find the time to spend on actually doing it. Might as well use what I've learned from 10 years in Spain to hack together a translation of the guide while I'm at it. Might be a couple of days before that happens though...
Good find bro good find. Been waiting patiently..lol hopefully this will get things going..what ya think Alberto?
Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk
I would hold off on that version for the moment.
Reading the thread it seems like the twrp is created and tested for an earlier version of Android (v 6.0 - Marshmallow) while it seems most of us have v 7.0. This seems to create problem for some after flashing.
Heck I been trying for hours for adb to recognize my device..lol it was a no go. Can we downgrade to 6.0 with splashtool. I know needrom has the previous versions

Changes
Changed the lines in the HEX-editor to remove the "anti-warez" details here (you can put varnishes and fritomes) shhh....
Replaced the SuperSU with a stub (because the SuperSU does not support high frequencies)
I replaced Magisk with a triple version
I replaced AromaFM with a newer one
Fixed some configs
wait for the big update!

Ah, nice thread. Another try to go against anti-piracy process on XDA. I'm not sure that what you're even thinking. If you try to remove anti-piracy code from any project and then post it on development site such as XDA then be sure that it will be taken down. That's it Also It doesn't matter if you modified it using hex patches. Your sources have to be still up.

TWRP on other hand which isn't offical could flash both. i choose pitch black over twrp (unoffical) because it looked authentic and safe.

I've been using PBRP in Olivewood for years, and flashed both custom and stock ROMs. Like I said, you've no idea what you're commenting on. A recovery has no job favouring stock vs custom ROMs, as long as the architecture of the device, recovery and ROMs are appropriate.
