[APP] Img2Png Tool v1.1 - Galaxy S 4 Themes and Apps

Img2Png is a tool for extract and convert Samsung Image resources to PNG format for easy theming. This is just a simple wrapper tool that uses the Touchwiz Roms builting image loader to load the image samsung resources and then saving them back as png images. So it means that it will only work on Touchwiz 5.0 and up.
For use this tool the ROM must read samsung image resources, perhaps it can save them also to a different format to ease the theming process, Img2Png can convert successfully the following formats:
QMG
ASTC
WEBP
PIO
WBP
OPTIPNG
QUANTPNG
PKM
ATC
PNG_OPTI
PNG_QUANT
QIO
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Img2Png cannot convert the following formats:
MIW
MIQ
SPR
BMP
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
So just download the app, install, and pick an apk from sdcard and the app will extract the qmg resources and convert them to png format and saving them in the Img2Png folder in the sdcard. The output folder retains the folder structure of the extracted apk including drawables and mipmap folders. The tool can't convert sucessfully .9.qmg, the tool only will convert it as normal png files so need to research or keep the original .9.qmg in case that the app use this format

FAQ:
1. Question: What is a PSD File?
Did you find a PSD file on your computer and wonder what program should open it? Maybe someone emailed you a PSD file but you're not sure how to use it. Perhaps you tried to open the PSD file but Windows told you that it could not open it.
Before you can open a PSD file (assuming it's even a file format that's intended to be viewed or edited), you'll need to determine what kind of file the .PSD file extension refers to.
Answer: A file with the PSD file extension is an Adobe Photoshop Document file.
Other types of files may also use the PSD file extension. If you know of any additional file formats that use the .PSD extension, please let me know so I can update this information.
2. Question : How To Open a PSD File ?
Answer : The easiest way to open a PSD file is to double-click on it and let your PC decide which default application should open the file. If no program opens the PSD file then you probably don't have an application installed that can view and/or edit PSD files.

[TOOL] mktool unpack repack boot & recovery images

This is a tool I made for unpacking, repacking, and loki patching the android boot and recovery images.
mktool is very simple to use with an interactive menu. No commands needed. You simply place all your images in the input folder and choose from the menu options.

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
To use mktool you simply run the following command in a terminal from the mktool root directory:
Code:
java -jar mktool.jar
You can download mktool from the project's page:

Note:
mktool has been tested on ubuntu & xubuntu
Must have java 8 or higher installed
New update to version 3.0
Hello everyone. Sorry it took so long to update this tool. I took a break from android development for a couple years.
This is a major update to mktool. It is now more universal with the exception of a few obscure devices. It's also more simplified now. You simply place all you're images in the input folder then choose from the menu options. Unpacked images will be in the "extracted" folder and repacked images in the "output" folder.
You can also now check for updates to mktool right from within the menu. I also added a desktop shortcut option for quick access which you can place anywhere, like a folder or a launcher or on your desktop.
I considered removing the loki patch option since that exploit was long patched in android, but I decided to leave it for the folks still having some dev fun with those older devices.
Hope you guys like the update. Happy modding.
New Update! v4.0
Added ramdisk lzma compression detection.
Re-written from bash to java for a proper GUI
Currently this is for linux only. If you'd like to also make it available for Mac and Windows, I've made this open source.

Smart cover background image

Smart cover has background image which can be changed at will, only you have to know where it is... and be rooted... It takes me quite long time and many efforts to find it out... So, I will share this knowledge with you.

}
In fact there are TWO images: one to show normally without any action and second to show when there is incoming call to take. Originally this is the same image in two places. It has resolution 561 x 1061
To change background image you need to:
- Prepare your own picture with given resolution and rename it as needed (details below)
- Go to /system/priv-app folder and find adequate .app file (details later) using e.g X-plore, Total Commander or Root Explorer
- Copy .app in edition to PC and open it with e.g 7zip.
- Navigate (inside opened .app ) to folder with original background image
- Copy your prepared picture into opened folder, agree to exchange files and close 7zip.
- In /system/priv-app folder rename original xxxx.app to xxxx.app.bak and copy there your prepared .app
- Set .app permissions to 644
- Reboot & enjoy your own background image in Cover window
Now details about files
1. Background image which is normally visible lies within /system/priv-app/Keyguard.apk in folder /res/drawable-sw420dp-400dpi-v13/cover_clock_background.jpg. Originally it is .JPG file
2. Background image for incoming call lies in /system/priv-app/InCallUI.apk in folder /res/drawable-sw480dp-400dpi-v13/cover_bg.png and originally it is .PNG file
