[Theme] Two WVGA wallpapers, "Italian ones"

These wallpaper were made with maranell0's HDWalls, based on pictures taken from me in southern Italy, and well, why not sharing them
Please note:
1) you need to install Co0kieMonster's HD Wallpaper patch in order for them to be correctly displayed, unless you don't have it installed already, obviously.
2) you need to softreset the device for the full theme to be "uptaken", restarting Sense from the Today settings will only load the medium wallpaper, and not the upper and lower taskbars, and the start menu background (if anyone knows how to work around this, please let me know, resetting everytime I need to change the wallpaper is troublesome to the least!)
3) there are 3 files in each zip:
- the cab you have to install, or put in the HDWalls wallpaper folder (only if you have HDWalls installed on your device)
- the JPEG file (larger one) you have to set as today background from start>settings>today (in order to have it show as start menu background too, I suppose you have to install the transparent startmenu CAB from the manila tweaks in the stickies of this forum
- the JPEG file (smaller one, -P suffix) that HDWalls installed on your device uses to show a (P)review of the wallpaper; if you don't have HDWalls on your device, this file is useless and can be discarded

[Cook]Porting Section XIP - Windows Mobile ® Standard - All Device

Hi All
I create new Thread - Porting Section XIP
to help understand the structure of porting the kernel
all questions, please ask in this topic
------------------------------------------------------
Step: 1
If you have extract xip (file - xip.bin)
Create two folders:
-Old_XIP
-New_XIP
*Copy files from Porting_Kernel_Tools.zip to: Old_XIP and New_XIP
*Copy xip.bin, from your device to Old_XIP
*Copy xip.bin, from another device to New_XIP
In both two folders using XiPPort.exe, extract the files xip.bin - create OUT Directory and Packages
Sample Location Directory:
Old_XIP:
Old_XIP/OUT/FILES/
Old_XIP/OUT/MODULES/
Old_XIP/Packages/FILES/MSXIPKernel
Old_XIP/Packages/FILES/MSXIPKernelLTK
Old_XIP/Packages/FILES/OEMXIPKERNEL
New_XIP:
New_XIP/OUT/FILES/
New_XIP/OUT/MODULES/
New_XIP/Packages/FILES/MSXIPKernel
New_XIP/Packages/FILES/MSXIPKernelLTK
New_XIP/Packages/FILES/OEMXIPKERNEL
*If you have, the more directories in Old_XIP, they must remain
Step: 2
Now you must replace files in New_XIP/OUT from Old_XIP/Packages:
PARTHDR.txt
ROMHDR.txt
FILES/OEMXIPKERNEL
MODULES/OEMXIPKERNEL
*If you have, the more directories in Old_XIP, you must to replace
*Remember - you must to replace the file imgfs.dll
Step: 3
Run program "XIPAddrTools.exe", click "Sel Work Folder" and select folder New_XIP
Now we have to change the following addresses, so that there was no red line, between modules
Step: 4
In the step, you must only packing new xip

You must moved a file, not basic, preferably from OEMXIPKERNEL, to OEM(OS Image)
is it possible just to port 6.5 kernel to official 6.0 ?
possible

Tomtom splash screen

For those who are interested in changing tomtom splash screen, here's my contribution:
Here is how you change your TomTom Navigator splash screen:
- Grab a copy of "TomTom Navigator.exe" from your Pocket PC and save it to your computer.
- Make a backup copy of the exe before your start.
- Download ResHacker from http://angusj.com/resourcehacker/

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
- Start ResHacker and open your "TomTom Navigator.exe"
- Expand the tree view on the left side and browse to Bitmap > 120 > 1033.
(Now you see the splash screen).
- Select the 1033 and go to Action > Save Bitmap.
- Once saved, manipulate the file keeping the format, aspect ratio and the size (528x800 for wvga).
- Go back to ResHacker and while the 1033 is selected, go to Action > Replace Bitmap.
- Follow the Replace Bitmap instructions then save your file.
- Copy your new "TomTom Navigator.exe" file back to your PocketPC.
- Start TomTom
(there is one img in attachment from iphone)
Nice, Helder
Thanks
Hi
I have followed the instructions and cannot seem to get it to work.
Open file as instructed, replaced .bmp with one of same dimensions and then saved and copied back to device.
Result: original splash screen.
Any advice appreciated!
Have you tried with the image included in the zip?
nice...works perfectly

Smart cover background image

Smart cover has background image which can be changed at will, only you have to know where it is... and be rooted... It takes me quite long time and many efforts to find it out... So, I will share this knowledge with you.

In fact there are TWO images: one to show normally without any action and second to show when there is incoming call to take. Originally this is the same image in two places. It has resolution 561 x 1061
To change background image you need to:
- Prepare your own picture with given resolution and rename it as needed (details below)
- Go to /system/priv-app folder and find adequate .app file (details later) using e.g X-plore, Total Commander or Root Explorer
- Copy .app in edition to PC and open it with e.g 7zip.
- Navigate (inside opened .app ) to folder with original background image
- Copy your prepared picture into opened folder, agree to exchange files and close 7zip.
- In /system/priv-app folder rename original xxxx.app to xxxx.app.bak and copy there your prepared .app
- Set .app permissions to 644
- Reboot & enjoy your own background image in Cover window
Now details about files
1. Background image which is normally visible lies within /system/priv-app/Keyguard.apk in folder /res/drawable-sw420dp-400dpi-v13/cover_clock_background.jpg. Originally it is .JPG file
2. Background image for incoming call lies in /system/priv-app/InCallUI.apk in folder /res/drawable-sw480dp-400dpi-v13/cover_bg.png and originally it is .PNG file

[APP] Img2Png Tool v1.1

Img2Png is a tool for extract and convert Samsung Image resources to PNG format for easy theming. This is just a simple wrapper tool that uses the Touchwiz Roms builting image loader to load the image samsung resources and then saving them back as png images. So it means that it will only work on Touchwiz 5.0 and up.
For use this tool the ROM must read samsung image resources, perhaps it can save them also to a different format to ease the theming process, Img2Png can convert successfully the following formats:
QMG
ASTC
WEBP
PIO
WBP
OPTIPNG
QUANTPNG
PKM
ATC
PNG_OPTI
PNG_QUANT
QIO
Click to collapse
Img2Png cannot convert the following formats:
MIW
MIQ
SPR
BMP
Click to collapse
So just download the app, install, and pick an apk from sdcard and the app will extract the qmg resources and convert them to png format and saving them in the Img2Png folder in the sdcard. The output folder retains the folder structure of the extracted apk including drawables and mipmap folders. The tool can't convert sucessfully .9.qmg, the tool only will convert it as normal png files so need to research or keep the original .9.qmg in case that the app use this format

Note: Use at your own risk and no guarantees that it will function as intended on your device, all credits goes to @xperiacle for part of the code of his awesome tool.
Changelog:
v1.1
