Do what he said:
1)Boot with twrp blu_spark.img via Bootloader.
2)If you want to use blu_spark twrp file then you flash blu_spark.img via recovery mode
For me:
I did a bit different from nightfury04, I did boot into the blu_spark twrp but I flash the Official twrp from Teamwin and it worked fine for me.
To root:
After flashed the recovery TWRP image I flashed Magisk 7.12, worked like a charm.

Ok I get that, let me search if there is a patched blue spark img file so that you could boot into via fastboot and flash permanent blue spark twrp zip file from there.

You might have flashed bluespark TWRP from stable version of TWRP right? @mighty's problem is that he isn't having any TWRP to flash bluespark from.
This is how you should do it...
Fastboot the img file
Let it boot to twrp
Flash twrp ZIP.... People are doing this wrong, they try to flash the img, it will cause errors.
Worked 100% for me.. Didn't have any twrp at all before, was on latest beta,
Fastboot img
Boot twrp
Flash twrp zip
Reboot to twrp
Flash rom
Flash twrp
Reboot to twrp
Flash magisk 17.2
Boot system
If you use the blu_spark twrp and use the latest magisk 17.1 you are good to go.
I am passing safety net and have working root
I don't get how you guys do it. For me it just ends up in bootloop

Here is what works for me on my OnePlus 6 Android 9 Pie
1. Download TWRP from @nightfury04 at Post 12
Flash it just as flashing the official TWRP for OnePlus 6
2. Magisk 17.2 Latest Beta with Latest Magisk Manager
Note: When I first used Magisk 17.1 stable, WiFi and SIM cards did not work.
I'm running the latest Blu spark twrp and tried to flash magisk 17.1 several times, but it just ends up in a bootloop everytime.
any ideas what might cause this?

Hello fellow A2 Lite owners!
I just got this device today and would LOVE to root 10.0.7.0, However it seems like the only way to go through this is by using a patched boot image which is not viable because none have showed up for 10.0.7.0 yet.
Will there be any other solutions for this? Thank you.

Obviously, It is my preferred way since I used it on a couple of devices including my Redmi Note 4 and Mi Pad.
My concern is not OTA but whether it would somehow break the ROM
Yes, I am aware of Mi Flash, Flashing stock ROMS, and other techniques but it's just that i don't have time for such long endeavors and would like to have a safe-ish way.
However I will try to get twrp running temporarily to install magisk.

My phone fails to boot on step 10. when I load temporary patched boot.img over fastboot.
Thats my current problem.
I tried to load up downloaded pached boot.img for version V10.0.7.0.PDLMIXM
I also tried to make patched boot.img from original boot.img over phone via Magisk. It doesnt work, bootloop again.

Only boot twrp not to Flash it...
Boot twrp command » fastboot boot twrp.img
Flash twrp command » fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
I assume you tried "flashing twrp" command, if that's the case it will replace your boot.img to twrp.img that's why it appears the "system has been destroyed" error... Try the "boot twrp command" if you want to access twrp temporarily... Coz right now we cant do(flash full twrp recovery) that as far as I know....

I believe we can I have heard reports offains 3.3.3. Twrp can do it I haven't tryed yet.but I did have twrp with root running on the march update but I'm on pa now
I installed the Stable Android 10 on my GM1910 via TWRP, totally forgetting about maintaining root and TWRP.
So how do I bring back TWRP and root?
fastboot boot doesn't seem to work, I managed to pull the boot.img and patch it with Magisk from another device but flashing it through fastboot ends up in an endless bootanimation.
Could anyone help me? here's a link of the boot.img i pulled, it works if you flash it without magisk patching it.
Link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1O8lF1UDwwu0zT8ro5Q1gKKfdxF-HGPEW/view?usp=sharing
(Almost) exactly the same here. I tired flashing a patched boot.img, it actually boots - but magisk manager gets stuck on the splash screen and some apps, including chrome, won't start. Trying to boot TWRP results in the phone getting stuck on the "fastboot mode" screen.
My only solution would be to downgrade, root, keep the upgrade this time. But because my ISP is doing some maintenance work I don't have wifi - and restoring my phone through mobile data does not seem to work correctly.
EDIT: In fastboot, neither bootloader version nor baseband version are show, product name is "msmnile". Has this always been that way?
EDIT 2, solution:
I extracted the boot.img from the device, and patched it using magisk on the same phone:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-Gf-6iXSFuYT5xDR-mnLKANvkXUHal9e/view?usp=sharing
Run this command in fastboot so you know which is the CURRENT active slot :
Code:
fastboot getvar current-slot
Run this command so you can flash the correct slot :
Code:
fastboot flash boot_X magisk_patched.img
replace X with the a or b from the command before.

Hi sorry to hear that you got this problem and hopefully it gets fixed. I have another question: does that mean using TWRP to completely clean the device then installing Android 10 via zip will remove TWRP and fastboot everything? Does that mean after installing, everything will be refreshed like a box opened phone?

Either one should work if the rom and the rooted boot image is on it (If you are rooting). That's why you should install using TWRP, if you look in the reboot menu it will show you the active slot.

Same.
I've read that Q/10 is different and you can't install TWRP like that anymore. Supposedly you need to use the MSM tool or the all-in-one tool but I've tried both of those and still can't boot to TWRP.

Hopefully there will be a solution. I had tried to update from Pie to Q10 while staying rooted and it didn't work. So I had to wipe the whole device and decided to wait for a smoother root method for my device. If you have any other ideas about rooting Q10 let me know. Thank you

Stuck at Fastboot booting when flashed img and also zip
Sent from my GM1911 using Tapatalk
I updated my phone to 10 last night, followed the same guide as I have for every other update but this time I lost root for some reason.
I still have TWRP recovery on there but it can't read internal storage so I can't flash Magisk.
I tried changing file system to ext 2 then back to 4 and then repairing it as I read elsewhere and this wiped the phone obviously but internal storage seemed to be working until I set the phone up again, downloaded Magisk, rebooted to recovery and I'm back where I started, internal storage showing as 0mb in TWRP.
Any ideas how to fix?
I need help. I was rooted with TWRP on Android Pie. I can't figure out how to flash or boot TWRP on Android 10 stable. Can someone please advise on the procedure to get TWRP and root with Magisk. Thank you!
Android 10 very friendly with root
There is an unofficial twrp for Android Q . Download it and temporarily Mount that image and install root.zip. after completing the installation of magiks . Install offical twrp zip to your phone. Done! Now your phone turns on with root.
As the previous response mentioned, unofficial TWRP version -70 just came out yesterday, fixing the "fastboot boot" command. You can now root Android 10 the same as you (probably) did with Pie: fastboot boot twrp.img, then flash twrp installer, and flash Magisk.

After you boot to TWRP, you enter your password to decrypt.
You then select the button that says install and navigate to the TWRP_install.zip file.
You will then select additional zip files, one of those being the Magisk.zip.
If you don't install Magisk after TWRP, you will get a bootloop/softbrick.
TWRP requires Magisk.

In seems to vary for folks (exact variables not clear), but in many circumstances, flashing TWRP without Magisk will result in no longer booting to OS.
Flashed another rom with twrp and no magisk and it booted up fine. I formatted my phone before the install, maybe that has to do with it
i had magisk running nicely since i installed debloater module ,,,after that my phone gone to bootloop.......now when i uninstall magisk then it turns on normally but if i install magisk then it bootloops again ...any fix for this ?
I need a twrp test can someone test it

Hi, I have a friend who comes around 9am this morning, I have already tested all the methods to try to root this model redmi 9a dandelion but there is nothing to do, you need a TWRP no choice, I want to test the holds if you have one. But I can test that when my friend is there, he is the one who has redmi 9a and I confirm I have unlocked his bootloader
I have a redmi 9a but I need a twrp for it. I can test twrp for redmi 9a
Hi i'm dev and i got redmi 9a today but i'm waiting for bootloader.
I'm gonna make one and you can test it.

how to do this?[/QUOTE]
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot recovery.img (Here we replace "flash" with "boot" so in case recovery does not work, we don't have it flashed in system)

magisk don't work because of encryption. Magisk installed right under twrp but it doesnt work. I also formatted the data it boots but because of something it reboots even though it writes well to unencrypted data. Maybe rom miui does not accept. Need maybe rom other
Just flash vbmeta
fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot and hold volup
wait some
in last version works better with graphic but now need correct fstab to mount correctely partition

Last test twrp with graphic and mtp mounted you can install magisk but it is not work after

I flashed twrp and I can see the twrp in my phone but it does not recognize my touch input.
so that's why I cannot swipe for modification
any fix for that?
Backup first, that's a must as always.
If coming from OOS 10 base -
1. Flash OOS 11 OB1/hotfix, after its completion do not reboot
2. Install official/unofficial twrp recovery image to ramdisk from advance menu in TWRP
3. Reboot to recovery
4.a. install magisk(optional) and reboot
4.b. repeat 1 and 2, reboot again then, 4.a.
If already on OOS 11 OB1/hotfix-
1. Flash the attached boot.img from bootloader
2. Reboot to recovery from bootloader itself(booting to system at this point will result in bootloop)
3. Follow the process as mentioned for OOS 10
Thx to Soft_M for boot image
NOTE: Above method is not compatible with OB2
OB2,OB3, closed release users directly flash official latest TWRP zip
NOTE: Installing TWRP on OB3 with any given method will cause safety net to fail
man thanks, that saved me from a bootloop from magisk...
Does this work with the HOTFIX build for OB1?

So you have tested official TWRP 3.5.2-9.0 on OOS Open Beta 2 and it works fine? Interesting

you can follow these steps:
1. install magisk app
2. boot patched boot img with magisk from another thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...beta-1-for-oneplus-6-6t.4304161/post-85408313 through bootloader
3. patch boot image via magisk(if magisk ask you to allow reboot when you first time open it,don't allow it).
4. reboot your phone.you are good to go.

After testing it out, seems that is the case

I had OB3 than I tried to "fastboot boot" latest TWRP to use PixelExperience. I got the QUALCOM message.
So I did the stupid thing to "fastboot flash boot" the latest TWRP. Now I'm bricked.
I will try to flash this one and see what happens. I was trying @mauronofrio unbrick guide, but it goes only until 10.3.8.
