Hey guys,
I tried posting in a related thread, but someone suggested looking here.
I dont know as much as you guys, but I am having a problem with my LG Stylo 2 (MS550)
I am getting the "corrupt" error message and I need to get some important data from the phone's memory.
I am willing to do ANYTHING.
I decent with electronics, but I have never gotten into Android stuff.
Here is the problem:
My LG Stylo 2 froze one day and I had to take the battery out to shut it off. When I tried to reboot it, it wouldn't do anything. Now a month has passed and when I power on, sometimes it says:
"Your device is corrupted and cannot be trusted"
The top left of the sceen says "Boot verification Fail!! - cause DIFFERENT_HASH" and there is always a different 4 digit number to the left of the message.
It just keeps rebooting and cycles thru the same thing.
I cannot enter recovery mode, but I can access fastboot mode and the factory reset screen. I have NOT done a reset or touched anything. I can get the computer to recognize the USB connection for the fastboot, but I don't know what software I need to look at/edit it.
I believe that I have some very important data on the phone memory. I am willing to do anything to find out.
I dont care about fixing the phone. I just need to access the data. Mainly text messages and files that are saved on the phone's memory. Photos would help, but are not important.
I have been searching everywhere and it's hard for me to find much helpful info.
I am hoping that there might be some software that might allow me to copy the phone memory. But it sounds like I might need to repair the bootloader first?
If it comes down to it, I am willing to crack it open and manually make a conection to the phone's memory. I am fairly good with electronics, but I need to know what Im looking for and how to get it. I have used arduino with an FTDI adapter to program some boards before, but nothing this complex. I am willing to purchase whatever I need to get this job done. I do not have access to a raspberry pi, but I assume that it would be compatible. I am willing to do any soldering but I dont know what connections to look for. It there somewhere I can find a complete diagram/pinout for this phone? (LG Stylo 2). If anybody knows any information about how I can get the data, please let me know.
I was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor and I don't know how much time I have left.
Meanwhile, I am being accused of something that I did not do, and there is evidence on the phone that will help.
You guys can be as harsh if you want, but at this point I just need a little help. I am willing to try anything.
Please let me know if anybody can help point me in the right direction.
Thanks!

I need some help. I will set up the scenario first. My Cap has had the unbrickmod performed on it about 8 months ago. I had the battery fall out ib the middle of a flash. I was getting the phone /computer "you screwed up a firmware install" animation. I tried to get it cleared up with Odin and now it is black screen no matter what I try. Can't get download, or recovery, and the usb jig won't even get it into download. I am completely unschooled and self taught with pc and phones and I think I have done pretty well. Now, I have taken another big step and after reading up on what to do next, I installed successfully, Ubuntu in my laptop (xp pro)and I can dual o.s. or boot either o.s. individually and everything seems to work fine. I downloaded UnBrickResrectR40, HIBL.zip, and java jre7.0.5. Ihave no clue about Linux or command lines, but after reading a million different claims on how to install these files i was finally able to get the java installed. But, I can't get the unbrickres file to install. I always get an error saying file not found by regex. Now I have copies in downloads, desktop, home, files, and have changed permissions and types(jar,javaw.exe,zip.gz) and still nothing. No forums or help pages help. They all give directions as if you know what you are doing already. They must figure if you got this far you are a tech or a dev, not a noob electrician who can't even type. I need some seriously slow, detailed, step by step, hand holding through this one, if someone has the patience. Back to the phone. The only thing that shows any life in the phone at all is when it is plugged into my laptop. It doesn't show up anywhere but under device manager. It shows under "universal serial bus devices" as, SEC S5PC 110 Test B/D , location 0,device is working properly, driver provider-libusb.org, driver date-7-13-2009,driver version-6.7.7600.16385, not digitally signed. That is it. I need some direction. What do I do now? Hopefully someone feels adventurous. Thanks

Have you tried the Windows tool Windows32DriversAndCommandLineApp.zip ?

Thanks for the advice
Thanks Silvertag, I appreciate the fact that you even read my post. I was running late for work, but wanted to get something on the boards.
I will check out the link you suggested. Much appreciated.
Hey guys, let me just start off by saying I have spent almost 8 hours straight today trying to figure this out and dig myself out of a hole I've created for myself, that being said, I'm going to try and be as detailed as possible so you guys know EXACTLY where I am and what I've tried. This post looks long but that's because it is. It's pretty much my entire day's worth of trouble typed out. So just bare with me and see if you guys can help me out here!
I have a T-Mobile Galaxy S4 model: SGH-M919 it has Android 4.4.2. Now on to the problem: I've had this phone for almost a year now and a few months ago I rooted it. Did a simple Youtube tutorial and used Odin to do the work and everything worked out fine. A couple months down the road (yesterday), after using the phone like a teenager, downloading apps and cluttering it up it started to slow down and not run some apps. After thinking about it I decided to factory reset it. All of my contacts, photos, and videos were backed up on Google so I thought "why not?" Well, this is where $#!% hit the fan.. being rooted then factory reset, right before the phone came online it had me answer two questions about the root. Something to the effect of "Do you want to keep root? (This option is not reversible)" I thought since I wasn't using the features I originally rooted the phone for I figured nah just get rid of the root. So the phone did its T-Mobile boot up and started the Initial setup.
Everything up to to this point was fine until I wanted to log in to my Google account during the setup. Please understand that where I am I have full 4G LTE coverage and have access to a pretty fast and sturdy wifi connection. Well, when it came to the google sign in I entered my email and password and it came up with a message reading "Can't Sign in - Can't establish a reliable connection to the server" (believe me i wish that was the only issue) so after reading that, I thought I'd try with my wifi.. nope. Same thing. Since neither my 4g or wifi worked I thought it was Google's servers so I tried again this morning, same thing. (keep in mind at this point i think my phone isn't rooted anymore.) I call the t mobile store and they give me a technical support number, so I call it and I tell them i cant sign into Google. The gentleman told me he cant do anything because he can tell my phones been rooted. Only thing he suggests is to contact Google, well, the customer care number just tells you go to google.com/support and there's nothing there about my problem.
This is where I dig my hole even deeper. I tried another factory reset and up in the top left corner i still see that root text. Even the rooted android symbol pops up before the Samsung logo or t mobile. Since I saw that I thought "ohh it just didn't get unrooted all the way." I look up ways to completely remove a root and a lot of them require plugin your phone into the computer and using Odin to flash a stock firmware on to the device. I went to plug my phone into the usb port but my computer didn't recognize the usb device, having experienced this a long time ago I searched around for the latest Samsung usb drivers and I installed those. Device still isn't recognized. Let me just note before people tell me to use MTP mode or Developer tools> usb debugging or connection mode.. The only thing that happens when plugging my phone via usb is the phone starts charging and my computer makes the trumpet noise like something is plugged in. Other than that, there is NO notification of it being plugged in. The reason i stress this is because I called Samsung technical support at this point and the guy (not gentleman) treated me like a 5 year old and ran me through all of these options after i told him I already did everything he was suggesting, including downloading Samsung Kies 3 and having it install the drivers. It does not pick up the device either.. at this point I looked up ways to remove the root without the computer. I found out you can just go into the root app "SU" or something and theres a remove root option. I jumped on that opportunity and had it removed. I restarted the phone and all the problems still persist, it even still has the root text on the top left when you factory reset it again. However now, even if you factory reset and select the option "keep root," thinking it would bring back the"SU" app it does NOT.
So lets recap. I have a phone that thinks its rooted and even appears rooted to t mobile but doesn't have any of the root apps or privileges or capabilities to fix my Google log in issue (like the host file in filemanager). And I can't re-root to get that app back because none of my 3 usb ports, 3 different usb cables (one being the cord that came with the phone), or any of the ports/cables on someone else's computer will recognize the darn thing to work on that way! I have all these issues that are supposed to fix each other but I can't do any fixing because they cancel each other out too... I'm at a dead end.
In case this isn't the right forum/website/thread/post area etc.. I have this whole message saved in Microsoft Word document so I can repost it anywhere you guys might suggest better results. Any help/advice will be much appreciated.
Hi, first time poster hoping for some help with my first encounter with Red Eye at bootup. I have a stock phone. I don't really care about the phone but my wife really wants the pictures off it. It doesn't have an SD card or cloud backup and the pictures are on internal memory. I am able to get into the boot options (like AP fastboot) but I do not know what the options will do for me exactly. Can I choose an option that may fix the phone but will not wipe the memory? Is there any possiblity a PC can see the phone at the Red Eye screen if I connect with USB(would a certified Verizon data cable help?) Would actually opening the phone and doing some sort of mod get me any closer to retrieving pictures? I am a complete novice at this kind of thing and only have experience with PC hardware and software and the like.

none of those options will be of any direct help, however fastboot may be used to try and fix it later.
first,
- do you know what caused it to become like this?
- is it bootloader unlocked? if you dont know what that is, there will be some dialogue on the fastboot screen. status code=0 locked or similar.
- do you know what version it was on? if you dont know, did you always update when available? would likely mean latest version.
- do you have a windows pc available, with a usb 2 port, and a cable to connect the phone to it?
edit,
ultimately, this is where we are headed, if you want to take a look at it. specifically the "rsd flasher". i was going to go another route, but this is probably a more direct option.
the rsd flasher will take you to another site, and is made by samuri. im not real familiar with his tool, but know its good. just will save me time in having you tear the fxz apart and flash certain things.
**note, im not sure if this phone was made for multiple carriers, this will only be relevant when getting the correct fxz file. samuri will know more about this than i would.

First off, thanks your reply! I've been to other sites that were not helpful even to this point! To answer your questions:

Not exactly sure what happen to the phone. My wife tells me one minute it was charged at 26% and working fine, the next moment it was 'dead'.
It is locked with a status of 0
My Wife says if the phone had automated updates(if stock phone is configured that way) then yes she has all the updates. If updates require manual intervention then it's probably not updated.
Yes, I have a Windows PC with 2 USB ports and a generic data cable that fits the phone.
I'm looking at the post you linked too now... Thanks again for your help!

no problem
its likely your phone is fully updated, but since we arent 100% sure, its going to be best to go with the most current file. reason being, because you are locked, you can only flash = or forward. if you try to flash back, it will either not work, or bootloop. usually not work.
it would probably be best if you continued this in @SamuriHL's thread for the rsd flasher. he is very helpful, will likely be able to quickly point you to the most current file, and will be able to answer any questions about the tool where i wouldnt.
I have an LG Stylo H634. I've tried everything to bypass the frp lock. I've exhausted all the options I've found online. Everything everyone else has been able to try to bypass the frp lock on the LG Stylo H634 and LG phones alike, who were successful, but for some reason, all those methods they were able to successfully use, aren't available to me on this particular phone (story of my life, no joke). I don't know what it is. I've tried to access "update word suggestions" that option is literally UNAVAILABLE, like it isn't even listed in the phone anymore (it used to be though). I've tried the "Motor & Cognition" "press & hold" Home button, that didn't work (nothing happened). I've tried "TalkBack>Settings", "settings" option is grayed out. I've tried "Overview 'KEYCODE_VOLUME_DOWN" button, that didn't work. I've tried flashing with .tot and .dll files with several flashing tools. I've tried "toolbypass" tools. I've tried everything I can find, and literally nothing works. Is there anything that you can think of that you can share with me that might help me in this situation. I don't know what else to do. It's so frustrating because I've literally been at this for several months. This is getting out of hand. I mean, something that's so simple for someone else, is for some reason being so difficult for me. I've never had this many problems with technology. So if you can please at your earliest convenience, post anything that you may find helpful. And please, if you're trying to sell your services, I'm totally good on that. I don't send money to complete strangers with faith that you won't take my money and run. I mean, if I was willing to pay money to have this done for me, don't you think I would take the phone to a professional to have it fixed? Common sense. Anyways, thanks for any helpful tips and for trying. I appreciate it. And anyone that has a successful solution, I will be sure to let you know how grateful I am if any of your suggestions were successful. I will never be able to thank you enough.

Probably sorted it out or trashed your Stylo by now but if not here's how I broke past FRP on this bastard roughly 15 minutes ago (someone gave it to me for the purpose of getting past FRP without using any tools but Google and my small collection of brain cells as a learning aide...good times). That said, I'd about given up and was looking at the tool tuts on YouTube and was ready to let the LG Tool thing do it's business when I stumbled into something about using a WiFi hotspot, then switching it off just as Google was trying to update before it usually tells you to f*** off or login with the unavailable Google account. I had TalkBack on and Universal Switch on yada yada blah blah Overview shortcut assigned to the volume down key and on the second attempt I switched my other phone's WiFi hotspot off just in time to have the screen switch to "Choose A Name" and pretty soon I was twerking about in the LG Stylo/Android OS settings menu. Disappointed to see no Android 6.0.1 update waiting in stasis though. Cricket continues to serve as the gold standard of suck. Smaller storage. Crappier camera. Probably never see Android M outside a custom rom (if there's a Santa). Some weird storage bug if you stream tunes requiring you download an update?! Tf!? And sealed up like Ft. Knox to become the toughest FRP bypass I've seen out of 4 total cases (all LG surprise, surprise) including an LG Leon I opted to use as a projectile weapon last summer just because it pleased me to see it die  anywho good luck. Chin up. Pip pip cheery-oh and all that fun stuff.
Thanks for the help
Thank you so much. I actually figured it out a couple months ago via youtube. I finally found a video that had useful information for a change lol. I was so ecstatic, you don't even know lol. I had been trying to get into this phone for literally months, and I'm not exaggerating lol. I use it now for my google voice. But thank you so much responding and actually being interested in helping. This is the video that I watched on youtube h ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNPdLHu33ac. This was the only video I found to actually work for me.
Hello, I'm Andrea & Im pretty new & a bit nervous to attempt some of these steps. But I very much need some help please.
I have the Moto G Stylus XT2043-4 {2020, I think} through Metro PCS, we've got 3 of these identical phones. However 1 of them is NOT BOOTING UP Correctly. {Using chat with Motorola rescue assistant, they stated: Phone has A/B Slot boot failure, & it is in AP Fastboot Flash Mode (Secure) & only way to fix is to Completely Reset & Start From Scratch.
You see this is My Daddy's phone, who Passed Away on March 6th... & I Desperately Don't Want To Completely WIPE ANYTHING as in User Info/Data if at all possible. So I'm turning here in hopes of assistance to SAVE My Daddy's Stuff that's on his phone.
I have read and attempted the advice/info in some of the threads here & I frankly get a little confused and a bit more nervous when it comes to things here {commands/input correctly} BUT I HAVE TO TRY. Also I am UNABLE To Do Anything as far as Switching USB Connection Type, Debugging, or Enable ADB, from the phone screen or when connected to pc. I feel like I literally need baby steps & entirely walked through this process PLEASE???
I'll post a couple pics of what screen says currently as it attempts to power up, hopeful this will help anyone willing to help me here.
Thank you for reading this longa** post & any attempts to assist me are very greatly appreciated, as I just can't bear to Ruin the last of my Daddy's pics & things from his phine, it is literally the only thing my son & I have left of my Daddy...
Feel free to message me if needed if any possiblity to help.
Love & Light,

Unfortunately, I don't think there is any way to get data off of the phone.
The only thing that might be possible, is if he backed up the photos with google photos, and he signed in with another device like a PC.
You could use the PC to access the photos.

However, my Daddy was 80 years Young & barely able to use this device & had never laid a finger on any other type of system, computer, etc... I tried to show him how to use a tablet once as his TV remote went out & hid TV had an app to utilize in replacement until the company dould bring him another TV remote once the weekend had ended but he wasn't too comfortable with that so I had to scurry and figure out how to reprogram his scrambled TV remote quickly or else he'd planned to stay on the same annoying TV channel all weekend... Infomercials & all...
thank you anyways, I'm holding into hope there's gotta be someone out here in techi~land here who can give some help... Sure,y someone somewhere.... Thank you very much though... Have a positive evening...
I think if you remember his pin or pattern you would be able to flash and use TWRP to access and backup his data on an external SD card and then reflash the rom on the phone and then restore his data back.
