After several months of development (and heavy usage by a few users I believe Twaddle (a Twitter client I've been working on) is ready for the general public to use. Whilst I'd be silly if I said that Twaddle was feature complete, I think it definitely has a nice list of features for an initial release;
Viewing your time line, your friends list and your own updates
Nice interface - custom list view with inertial scrolling. (Check out the screenshots)
Post tweets, replies and retweet
Downloading of avatars (including @replies by your friends to other people)
Geotagging of tweets (looks up your current mobile / cell tower with Google, no GPS required)
OAuth support (you don't ever provide you username / password to Twaddle)
Portrait / landscape support
View Google Maps for geotagged posts
Popup notifications (including avatars) with post, reply and retweet options
Is.Gd URL shortening
If anyone is interested in trying it out, you can grab it from twaddle.mobi. General information will be updated frequently on http://twaddle.mobi as well. It's a free client, so I hope you guys can give it a try, and I'd love to hear any feed back. You can contact me either through comments on twaddle.mobi, on this thread, or via twitter
Twaddle v0.1.2
I noticed a rather daft bug in 0.1.1 which caused a crash when one of your friends' last update was to a user with protected updates which you did not have access to. To make up for the crash I've greatly improved the speed of refreshing your friends' status list.
Grab the new version from http://twaddle.mobi/
Thanks mate, im going on holiday for a week on saturday so Ive installed it on my Blackstone and I'll use it while im away, at first glance it looks good.
Twaddle v0.1.3
I've just released Twaddle v0.1.3 - it features optimised avatar downloading, a few crash related fixes and AppToDate support.
Grab it from http://twaddle.mobi
Need logging
Great app!
Can you implement some kind of logging or bug tracking? Twaddle regularly fails to connect to Twitter for me when I start the app for the first time after a reboot. The error message just says that it failed to get my credentials or something like that.
Also, could you implement support for keyboard shortcuts (t - tweet/post, r - retweet, etc)?
Any roadmap for feature updates? Do you need donations? Keep up the great work!
P.S. I have a TYTN II with stock everything.
Version 0.2
Where I can get the 0.2 version? I looked the preview and its exactly the one that I want... GREAT GUI... ^^
About icons or picture, I could help you. Just send me an email: [email protected] with detail description about icon/picture that you want, I'll try to make/design it for you... ^^
Ah, could you please remove the bar at the right (the one used for navigating up and down), it looks bad and no use since your app use kinetic scrolling...
And if you can, integrate it with WinMo system (push feature and notifications integrated with WinMo system).
Nice app ^^
After a while of using Twaddle i must say it is definitely the best twitter app i've used so far, except for that terrible looking icon :-( Such a great app with such an ugly icon. Looking forward to the better one
Keep up good work, i like this app.
Any update on adding geo-positioning to see nearby tweets and getting a new view to watch trending topics?

Logging is implemented. If you look in the directory you installed Twaddle into there's a Logs/ directory with a bunch of files named for the time of Twaddle launch (eg. 200908251110) - if you ever experience crashed or you can't connect, send me those logs (support AT twaddle DOT mobi) and I'll have a look.

No published roadmap, no. Next major verson (0.2) will feature @reply monitoring and direct messaging support. As well as the new icon bar (see http://twaddle.mobi for screenshots).
In regards to donations, they're always a nice way to show your support. Not sure on the forum rules for posting donation links, so to be safe, there's a link for donating on http://twaddle.mobi in the top right.

0.2 hasn't been released yet - I need to polish up a few features and make some general improvements before I release it. That may take a bit of time as I've just moved house so I've without an internet connection / unpacking insteead of coding.

I'm a little bit hesitant to remove the scrollbar. Whilst I don't use it to scroll, I personally still use it to see how far through the list of tweets I am. I also think it serves an important function in telling users (especially those new to the application) that the view has more information and that they can scroll about.

Glad you like it. If you, or anyone else, would like to provide icons, the icons I need are;
- Program icon (16x16, 32x32, 64x64. A 128x128 one for the website would be good too). I don't really have any suggestions of what the icon should be... so feel free to come up with one.
- 16x16 transparent icon to indicate a favourite tweet (heart or star?)
- 16x16 transparent icon to indicate a user with locked statuses (Padlock)
- 16x16 transparent icon to indicate a tweet is a reply (Arrow or some such?)
- 1x38 image to be used as the background of the icon bar - should be something that looks good stretched out.
- 38x38 image to be used for the selected icon in the icon bar - this gets drawn with a rounded border.
- Icons for each view of Twaddle in 32x32 and 96x96: Timeline, friends, mentions / @replies, direct messages, settings, post. Ones for search, trends, geo-location and followers would also be good.

Not for a while yet - you'd be looking at 0.3 at the very earliest (which is a 2-3 months away, I'd say).
It seems i can't send a tweet, twaddle 0.1.3 keeps saying "error" after "sending". Don't know why. Downloading tweets of others works fine though.
Update: oh, it seems twaddle can't handle diacritics like í é á ý ř etc (utf-8 symbols probably).
I cant even start using this app.
At startup when entering account settings it cant open the webbrowser for the stupid authorization.
0.2.1 Released!
This thread is a little old but thought I'd post a quick update in it to let you all know that Twaddle 0.2.1 has been released. You can download it straight from your phone's browser at http://get.twaddle.mobi Otherwise head over to http://twaddle.mobi/
Lots of bug fixes (including fixed support of multi-byte UTF8 characters), direct message support and viewing @replies / mentions.

Geo-tagging posts (using mobile tower information provided by Google) already exists. Trending topics are not yet supported - if you head over to http://twaddle.mobi there's a pole for proposed features in 0.3 and one of the options is trending topics.
Another app I'm involved with was published yesterday* - Bubble:
Your memory in Bubbles!
Bubble lets you keep memos for every contact you have. The greatness is that whenever that contact calls his bubbles are shown on the in-call screen
So, for instance:
Someone calls you and says he has a job interview tomorrow. You write a new bubble for that contact: 'Ask how the interview went!' - Next time he calls, you'll see that bubble right away and won't forget to ask
The app is completely free, with ads (No ads on the call screen! only in the app itself). This is the first version out so there are going to be a lot of changes and updates as we progress. We'd appreciate your input, good (straight in the market rating) or bad (in here please ).
A clarification for the worried: This app does not use any unauthorized APIs like some other call screen apps out there - this is merely a toast overlay with some added info. No buttons were changed/removed/added and the original behavior of the call screen remains intact.
Links and info:
Market and site links:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.goodfriend.bubble
http://www.yourmemoryinbubbles.com/
Features:
* Contact screen with indication of bubbles for each contact.
* Convenient sorting:
- Alphabetically
- Contacts with bubbles up on the list
- Contacts with whom you last had calls up on the list
* Flashy bubble colors (might be too flashy for some... but we like it )
* Direct call from a contact's bubble list - When you want to call someone go to the app, review the bubbles for that contact and call him directly from there.
* Notification settings: When a contact with bubbles calls you get a notification for easy access to his bubbles, so you can update/delete after you've just seen them on the call screen. You can also activate notification for every call to add bubbles for contacts that still don't have any, right after they call. And of course you you can deactivate notification altogether.
Known issues:
* Force closes on a certain nexus1 with CM6.1 (Froyo).
* If there are duplicate contacts and they are not grouped (i.e. a contact from Google account and a contact from the phone itself) you will see both contacts in the Bubble's contact list. This is the same behavior as the regular android contact app, though there you can filter out by source (i.e. show only Google. show only sim etc.). We don't have filters for this yet.
* Consequently, if you add bubbles to a duplicate, you need to know which of the duplicates your phone recognizes for an incoming call. I.E. you have two contacts with the same number, your phone will choose one of them as the caller id when that 'number' calls you - that's the contact you'll need to add bubbles to, otherwise they won't show.
We're working on it, hopefully this will be resolved within a few days.
*The first one is Horror Run - I was the main programmer in both projects but the rest of the guys in the new project aren't related to that previous one.
How i hate market sometimes....the app is not available for my rom ....I would have to flash CM to download it. Could you please attach an apk file to yur post?
Only restriction is 2.1 and up (mainly to prevent some compatibility issues headache), so if you have that it should work.
Either way I'll PM you a link so you can try it out anyway.

Well I have some problems with market/roms. I have used two roms recently a custom Android Froyo 2.2.1 and also CM 6.1 or 6.0 which is also based on froyo 2.2.1. On the web version of market I now have a drop down menu with two phones CM 6.0 and the other custom rom. Event though both roms are based on Froyo the market prevents me from installing certain apps on my current rom but indicates that I can download them on CM 6.0. Kind of annoying So when I find an app that I like I flash CM 6.0 download the app from the market, back it up ,flash my "every day use" rom and restore the app. Takes a bit of time..
Anyway feedback...
Excellent concept, very nice UI, everything is working as it supposed to.
Now the drawbacks I think the app needs a QVGA theme I assigned one bubble to a contact and it overlaps the answear/reject call sliders. I didn't try with more bubbles but I assume it would look even worst so smaller bubbles with a bit different placement for QVGA devices would be nice.
And one request..Would it be possible in the future releases to assign bubbles to contacts that are not in the phonebook? Something like this...check if the phone number is in the phonebook if not display certain bubble.
Neat idea, i'll have to give it a try
Nice idea, but any way to have some less painful colours? Why not just use a colour picker?
Love it! Awsome! Works fine on my HD2 which dual boots Android nd Windows Mobile.

Color scheme is something we discussed long about, we asked around a LOT, and it seems most people tend to like shiny flashy colors
However we already have several things in the works for a future version, custom colors and even pictures/patterns, customizable of course.
If we manage to lift it high enough to justify extra work, a lot of good will come into the next versions...
Loved it ! Second on the color options being more manly.
Hi there,
installed Bubble but didn't really get around to use it.
One question though: what is the "full internet access" permission for?
I don't like the idea of having an app on my device that can read all contacts and has full internet access...
Kind regards,
subworx
The access if for the ad servers (AdMob, AdWhirl etc.) and nothing else. No net usage in the app itself whatsoever.
I presume most of us have Mango now officially or unofficially so as the title states, what is your favourite feature?
Unrelated note; if anyone wants an invite to Google+ PM me
There are lots of little things I'm really enjoying, but I'll at least narrow the list down to two:
a) The ability to only require a lockscreen password after a set time interval. Surprisingly useful!
b) Improved ListBox behaviour. Makes AlphaJax ad many other apps a joy to use instead of a jerky mess!
Sent from my HD7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
err.. the ability to search contact by company name ahahahah...
and office skydrive ...
Even though the mult-tasking isn't actually working yet, I am enjoying having a way to switch between different tasks/apps quickly, instead of hitting the back button a bunch of times. It will be really nice once the actual multi-tasking portion is working.
1. The timed interval for password from the locked screen,
2. Unified inbox.
3. Pretty good bar code reader in Bing. Wish it would bring up a few more/better shopping results.
The new Bing utilities are great.
Multitasking & all the API's released to developers in general. Will allow for many things I've wanted.
Updated email & calendar - linked inboxes, threaded emails, birthday/holiday/facebook calendars all important to me.
New voice commands & dictation
Ability to add groups, and group features (group email ect)
Save settings in Camera
Full skydrive sync
Those are the big ones, but the whole thing seems amazing so far.

Ie9 is my favorite upgrade. I like that the OS performance is better in most areas. I like the new Bing features and more informative tiles.
I like the new phone layouts for placing and taking calls.
Like that I can switch and app, but no 3rd party aps take advantage from it yet as they all have to resume... and looking for a way to close apps in the task manager....
There are more but I'm tired of typing
Sent from my Windows Phone Mango Focus using Board Express
hi
large buttons!
1. Xbox live screen
2. merged inboxes
1. new xbox live
2. custom friggin ringtones! ( still trying to figure out how to get the custom alert sounds working)
3.IE is way better!
EDIT: for some reason, the podcast downloading from the phone doesnt work. says i need to check my data connection.
So is IE9 faster for everyone? Because it is straight up balls for me >.<
Not only is it faster but it also loads the pages correctly (Finally) my favourite feature has to be threads, it is so damn useful
1.Multitasking (Adding X button will be Perfect)
2.Groups
3.Chatting in Facebook and Hotmail
4.Save Camera Options
5.Linked emails
6.Software speed
7.New way to shutdown the device by sliding the lock screen down after pressing shutdown button.
8.New Layout
9.Grouping app Alphabetically
10.Battery Saver
On the other hand, Some languages still not supported
Search result doesn't find anything
Noway to backup SMS
Still some errors as it is a beta version.
Audio Confirmations
Audio Confirmations! Especially when the locksreen is on and the voice asks you, "would you like to read, reply, or ignore the text".
This is a feature you have to enable in "Speech Settings". It is very useful. You can set it to always on, Bluetooth and Headsets, Bluetooth Only, or wired headset. Give it a try....
IMO the most impressives are :
1. The Unified Message system...
Now all messages (and i mean all SMS-MMS-Facebook-Win Live) are in one place and have the same way of working.
If you try to text a contact the system tells you if he is online (FB or Messanger) and offers to send the message via them.
2. Contacts and Groups. Make a group (family or friends) and put some ppl in the group.
Then pin the group to start page. Fisrt it will give you a fast dialing option for them, and the most impressive
is that any message or FB event/notification or fotos that comes from one of those ppl on the group
will be there live with nice rotating animation.
You must try this ...its Fantastic
I like the new Zune player with Smart DJ.
Social Notifications and Groupings...
This is my favorite. If I have a family group it lists the updates from Facebook or Live which is nice to see. No longer is it necessary to go through a useless FB list in search of specific components about people I want to know about (impossibly difficult to do with any lengthy FB contact list.)
General Social notifications - if someone makes a comment on your picture in FB or in Live I like how the ME tile becomes useful by flipping over and giving you the notification. This is extremely useful to stay on top of the things you care about.
Pictures
I like the dynamic change of the tile - it's a nice eye candy feature
Turning a online gallary picture into a wallpaper is easy without copying to the phone
The people hub is pretty nice to see all your top contacted friend's picture quickly and easily
IE9 - much improved - EXTREMELY better
Local Scout - cool as hell
MOST USED TOOL - Voice to Text for SMS - absolutely killer feature with almost a 90% accuracy rating on short phrases.
Too many to list..
Here are my favorites in no particular order -
1. Shortcut to "Now Playing" on the volume drop down for music
2. unified messaging via Threads
3. Bing Vision
4. Updated zune player w/ "Related" artists and smart DJ, clearly marked downloadable songs for zune pass
5. Faster application and game installs
6. Improved Xbox live interface

UPDATE: I've decided to discontinue my work on Catena, the project is too heavily reliant on community, and the time investment required to make it successful was several magnitudes higher than what I could offer. If anyone is interested in continuing this project let me know.
If you're interested in any of my other projects check out my site at: http://www.creepybit.co.uk

Catena is an anonymous and location based instant chat client. The main purpose of Catena is to give you an anonymous outlet for calling out to others in your local area and meeting new people, without the burden of identity. Catena lets you chat in a typical instant chat environment, but also lets you post semi-permanent messages on a shared map, for the whole world to see!
Catena is free, there are no user accounts or signing up. The instant you install Catena you are able to chat. For those who need an identity, either to maintain a conversation or single yourself out for others, there is a type of disposable user name that you can change as often as you want. There are also chatroom like tags you can use that make your messages private and only viewable to others with the same tag.
You can find Catena on the Google Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Creepy+Bit
I also have a website up with more info at: http://creepybit.co.uk
I started development on this app when I couldn't find an anonymous alternative. I'm a single developer working in my spare time around work, but I'm currently still managing to push out almost daily updates. Catena is currently in Alpha stage, meaning I'm still adding and changing features, and I'm still modifying the server equipment.
I'd really appreciate it if you guys could give this app a go. Catena has been live for a week and I currently have around thirty users. The users I have thus far have given me really great feedback, and I think with some more hard work down the way I can make this a really great app that people will love.
I have similar idea for Android app. This is good idea, but when not enough people have this app, this is not good working. I wish you more and more downloads!
Sounds awesome. This sounds like the Love Section on Craigslist where people say, "Oh I saw this sexy woman at Walmart. Hope to see you again".
It would be great to leave messages up for like a day and be able to show your GPS route. That way, at the end of the day, you could retrace your day and see if anyone left you a note. Like, "To the hot guy sitting at the bar in the blue collared shirt. I think I love you".
I always wanted a personal area chat room.
It could also be used for marketing such as "Burgers tonight are top notch!". Perhaps if things take off, you could sell extended comments that last longer.
I haven't used it yet, but how would this program handle a single place with lots of chatter? Is it a single point on the map that links to a chat room style interface? 1 map point per comment would create clutter. In my mind, a single comment would just be a dot on the map which would open for dialogue. You'd also probably want to allow accessing ANY of those locations on the fly. So if I want to go get dinner at Red Lobster downtown, I can find the location on the map and read the comments left there. Perhaps someone says, "4 hour wait @ 7pm". Or actually having the ability to ask someone that is physically there to put your name on the list, haha.
I can see SO many possibilities for this.
So perhaps you can only START a chat based off your location but you can join ANY. Also it might be a good idea to be able to disable GPS in case someone is at their home and doesn't want anyone to know where they presently are (can't start a convo but can join one). You don't want to hear about how crazies are killing girls using your app. lol
[UPDATE]
I would do away with broadcast messages. Obviously they just annoying and childish. I would just show the dots to let you know there is a comment there, to open up the local chat for that dot. In the future, I would make the broadcasts a paid ad type thing. Like $20 a day... which is super cheap. Even right now, I could broadcast a business and 30 people would instantly see it.
As the app gets more popular, the map will get flooded with broadcasts and you'll be unable to even see the map. Icons should scale with the map. It's ok right now, but again, things may get crowded. You might also think about playing with the idea of making the icons semi-transparent so you can see the underlying map.
At this point I'm unsure how to even find other local chats; if it is even possible at all. All I see from the map are the broadcasts.
I just want to be able to create a chatroom at my GPS location and be able to have others leave comments. Right now, I see several broadcasts, but I can't chat with them. One was about a guy speeding. It would be fun to be able to go in that chat and leave a message like, "There is a guy going slow" or "That was me!"

Some nice ideas, I'll let you discover it but it's basically the world is just one huge chat room, but you filter the messages you receive by range. So it ends up being a digital "everyone shouts and you choose how far you listen" kind of thing.
If a small area gets really popular and you can't hold a conversation then there are things called Hash Tags. They're basically a short keyword you filter your messages by and it's sort of like joining a chat room. For example I could apply the hash tag "Crime" (like in the screenshot), and it basically means I only see messages from other people with "Crime" and they are the only ones that see my messages.
For the map I'm currently in the process of implementing an upvote system. Messages on the map (I call them Broadcasts) will expire after a certain period, that period is shorter depending on how busy the area is, you can extend the life of a broadcast by 'Bumping' it.
I'd love to add new stuff as I go along. But as it's been said, the key thing I'm lacking is users.
Ahhh I see about the "how far you listen" type range thing. Thats fun and all... but really hinders the usefulness.... well let me think, no I guess it wouldn't if you simply picked a restaurant and did a Spoof Location from that area. I would change that and label it as something like, "Chat from here" or something. Also need to intregrate the map better. Maybe have that as the initial screen that users see. It is a pretty map and looks fantastic. Opening the app to just see an empty chat is a let down. I would initially start zoomed out so you can see the surrounding areas and users online. Tap = popup "Chat from Here" button.
Also a slider for chat radius that displays as a blue circle around your location. Having to go into settings to set a number is kind of awkward.
Focus on the map and let users pop in and out of chat as will based on their location.
Broadcasts expiring based on how busy the area is, is a good idea. I had no idea about the bumping. "Bumping" a thread, I get it... but I when I bumped the broadcasts, it didn't do anything. Maybe just a simple vote system like "Was this helpful: -1 and +1". Because honestly most of those broadcasts are retarded. Peeing on the benches? Smelly Town? Sand Vaginas? The community needs to be able to down vote and get rid of those messages as badly as they need to up vote. Regardless of votes, Broadcasts should still naturally go away after a set time. Like broadcasts = 1 hour with 1 day max.
Also the hash tags, perhaps make it more user friendly... such as a button for "Create a Group" or "Join a Group".

This is good stuff, I'd love to implement most of this. I'm very close to starting the up vote system so I'm not sure how I'll be doing it yet but I definitely plan to have down voting. Or at least a report button! Thanks for the post!
Love the idea but u might wanna look into integrating facebook n g+ somehow.

I agree, you need users and you should use social network to get them automatically
How about adding video chat for the devices with front camera?
What kind of social network integration would you want? Something like when you post a broadcast you get to share it on your wall? I'd be tempted to do something like that down the line.
Video chat would be hard because my server bandwidth would struggle to keep up, but I could certainly try adding an easy way to connect to other users and enter some sort of skype room or something.
I just uploaded version 31, this has the new upvoting and downvoting system. I called it Bump and Report just to be edgy and different (you love it), but the basic functionality is there. By default a Broadcast needs 10 reports to disappear, but the more it's bumped the more reports it'll take.
I'll see how it goes, there's room for lots of changes but it'll be server-side so I can do it over time in small increments.
Also, Yesterday evening I cleared the Broadcast database, which wiped out the whole map of Broadcasts. Clean slate now but it's looking rather barebones.
This weekend I'm possibly upgrading my servers again. You shouldn't notice any downtime though.
This is great! This has so much potential!

great
Omg this is so cool The location spoofing is a great idea. I hope that you are aware that your app is unique and there is a lot of potential in it
Keep up the great work
Thanks guys
My current plan is going to be to add private messaging and some changes to client-server communication to fight spam (in anticipation). Is there anything else you guys feel should be added before I start the Beta phase? Once we're in Beta I'm going to be much more conservative with adding new features so now is the time to make a case. I'll consider practically anything.
This looks like it could be interesting.
Will keep an eye on it.
Hey guys, today I found out I'd apparently taken out server time synchronization at some point in the past. That's fixed now so there shouldn't be any odd problems with message order anymore. You might find that your messages appear in odd places but that's because your clock is offset from the servers time (not blaming you obviously, but I can't really fix that).
Version 32 is up, it includes some new stuff:
- haptic feedback on message receipt
- you can now disable the lingering tray icon
- Cast Range now defaults at 100,000km, I'll keep it like this until we reach a release version
Nice I see you are working on this really hard. Thats not a bad thing I'm looking forward for the private messaging feature
Hi, I recently took an Android Development at my school where I made this Flashcards Study App.
There's still a lot of work I want to complete before I call it finished, but it's a good start I think. I still want to add more quizlet functionality to it (since quizlet.com doesn't seem to have an android app yet.)
Download the App!
Some features:
* Offline Mode to study on the go without an internet connection.
* Adjust card flip speeds in the settings menu
* Long press on a deck to view options
* Shuffle your flashcards
* Search Quizlet to access millions of flashcard sets.
* Edit, Delete, and Create new flashcards with a breeze
* Text-to-speech integration
* Multi-language support
* Identify your strengths and weaknesses by keeping track of how well you know a card.
* Reverse Question and Answer sides on cards
* Improved UI
EDIT:
I attached an apk that you guys can use since I can't seem to post a link to the play store.
Or alternatively, You can search for "CardCloud FlashCards" in the play store to get the official app.
I'd recommend it since I'm planning on pushing a lot of new features in the upcoming weeks.
Thanks!

Hey. Sorry. It doesn't seem to let me post links since I'm a new member.
Here's an uploaded APK file you can use in the meantime
Or you can search for "CardCloud Flashcards" in the play store if you want the official version.
Thanks for trying it out!
Definitely let me know if you run into any problems.
So far nice ui
Works good. Is it possible to share own decks with friends? It would be amazing, also an option for read only and read write permissions for shared decks.

Thanks for the compliments!
Sharing is definitely a feature i'm going to be adding in the feature. Right now i'm torn between integrating some sort of facebook social network to allow for easier sharing. I've been busy trying to learn Ruby on Rails Development and Android Dev at the same time, so the cardcloud website is a bit lacking at the moment. But Sharing is definitely a big feature I want to implement.
Currently I'm in the middle of adding an ability for users to mark each card as easy/hard and then creating an infinite shuffle that will have a smart algorithm to show difficult cards more often.
That should be about two weeks out, and then I'll start working on the Deck sharing.
Great suggestion on the Read/Write permissions too! I think that would be an awesome feature, I've written it down on my notepad, so definitely stay tuned to this thread for any updates I make!
Thanks for trying out my app!
Redesign Icon
Hey buddy I think this app is great for studying and for group activities. Love what you have done. I also like the UI I made this icon for you just cuz i like messing around with Photoshop haha hope you like it

Hi. Great app. Is it possible to manually edit or create a set on a PC and transfer / open / import into the application?
A quick way of implementing this might be to add CSV or XML export and import?
Perhaps a link up to Google docs for cloud storage and on line editing?
Also, would you consider the addition of images on the flip cards? Perhaps a HTML format would make this easy to implement? A picture paints a thousand words and all...
Keep up the good work and I hope its a great success.
Steve.

Opening a quizlet with images renders nothing visible on the card
Steps to reproduce...
1. Search 2010 Honda Cars
2. Select any of the results
3. See the text (e.g. "2010 Honda civic") but on clicking the card to see the flip side - there is nothing.

CardCloud - Flash Cards
CardCloud,
Great effort thus far ... you've added the ability to create card sets! This is HUGE.
Some tips I hope you're able to fix in the coming updates, please.
1. Settings - there should really only be on 'settings' button for the app (the vertical elipses button; top right/bottom right corners).
2. Logon - should be a little more clear "what" service the logon pertains to.
- I thought the ability to logon to Quizlet would work with this ?? I'm an Android newb and I've already realized things are "assumed/presumed" to be known to new users, which its not clear on many applications or the OS itself.
3. KEEP the "skip logon" this is critical and I've come across many notes type apps that I cannot even create a note when in the subway because they require a persistent internet connection = total pain in the ass and useless! You've got a good thing going with this "skip logon" ability please KEEP IT Much appreciated.

Thanks! I'm planning on adding that feature pretty soon. Right now I'm on the verge of adding support for marking cards as either correct or incorrect. Also I'm adding in an in-app purchase to remove ads. I've also been working on the website portion of my app (cardcloud.net) which will allow you to upload your local decks onto a website (once you create an account) once it's uploaded, you'll be able to export from the site.
That's still a work in progress, hopefully in a week or two, I'll have that ready for you.
In the meantime, you can expect an update for marking the correctness of each card in the next day or two!
Thanks for the compliments, and thanks for trying out my app!

Hey! Supa_Fly, thanks for the kind words.
I really like the idea of the skip button for logins. The reason the login is there is to allow users to sync their decks with the website portion of the app. (CardCloud.net) But I've been busy working on the app and haven't had a chance to get the webapplication completed yet. Hopefully in the next week or two You'll be able to backup your local decks/cards onto a website, where you can save them on a computer.
The settings functionality is a bit confusing, so I've done a bit of tinkering with it to make it more intuitive to use. Thanks for the suggestions though! I really appreciate the feedback.
In the meantime, I'm working on a v1.2 release which will allow users to mark cards as either correct/incorrect/half-correct/etc, to help with remembering your learning progression. Keep an eye out for that. Hopefully I'll be able to push that up to the google store by tomorrow. I'll also update this thread once that's complete!
Thanks again for trying my app!
Hey. Just uploaded an update to the current App on the Appstore.
Some New features:
* Identify your strengths and weaknesses by keeping track of how well you know a card. Mark a card as Correct/Incorrect/etc
* Reverse Question and Answer sides on cards
* Improved UI
* Settings AutoSave when changed, rather than having to hit a save button
* When Viewing a Deck from Quizlet, download the deck directly from the cardview for your convenience.
* Change your settings (flipspeed and question/answer reversal) from the cardview.

Hi, my girlfriend wrote out 20 sets as study for her exam on Wednesday. Her phone updated your app and it seems her card sets have been deleted (or lost). :crying:
Is your new updated version deleting user inputted card sets?
I'd greatly appreciate a quick response if you have a way to retrieve them.
PS, where are the card sets saved? In files (what location in phone)? Perhaps we can retrieve them manually?
Thanks, Steve.
Hey sd00, I'm really really really sorry that happened.
I found a bug in my code that was clearing the sqlite DB on updates.
I fixed the bug, but unfortunately it looks like her cards have been wiped.
This is embarrassing, I'm a noob and didn't realize that would happen.
There's nothing I can do, but promise it won't happen again.
For what it's worth, If I sent you guys an ad free version of that app, would that help?
Again, I'm really sorry, let me know what I can do to try to make it better.
I'm working on the ability to create decks online and then sync them to your phone, so hopefully that'll make it easier in the future to recreate the decks.
(If you'd like, you can even send me the questions/answers and I'll type them back up for her myself.
if you pm me an email address, I can send you an apk for the free version too.
Again, I apologize for my noobness.
For such a new app - this was an unforeseen mistake by the developer. The fact that he's VERY apologetic and this app does offer some great features over the competition I'll still support this app!
As experience is gained and more testing directly by the developer we'll this app continually excel and grow in feature sets and less bugs. Not many people appreciate developers' hard work and even less developers are as humble as this one.

Hey Supa_Fly, thanks for the kind words and support! It's been a lot of fun working on this app and I've learned a lot from the experience. Hopefully as I improve, so will the app. Sorry again to sd00 for the bug. I spent a few days testing and retesting to make sure it wouldn't happen again before I pushed up the newest update this afternoon.
I've been working on the syncing functionality the last week or so and I got it finally working the way I wanted. Not 100% yet, but allowing users to create their decks online I think is a necessary feature, since writing out individual cards on a phone is a pain. I'd like to tweak it a bit to make syncs work faster/better, but I'm slightly limited by my web server since it's a bit slow. Hopefully if I can generate any revenue through the app, I'll be able to put it towards faster servers. I'll keep an eye on the bug log to make sure nothing goes awry though.
I've pushed the new features up onto CardCloud.net allowing users to login to their accounts and create their cards online. Also, I uploaded the app updates to the google play store so users should be able to get the updated app with fixed functionality. Hopefully I didn't mess anything up this time .
In the meantime, I have a couple new features in the pipes that I'm working on that I think should improve the app. Hopefully I'll be able to get these pushed out in the upcoming weeks:
- Image support for flashcards. Definitely a top priority feature, should have an update for this within the next few weeks.
- Rich Text Editing. Another top level feature I want for the app.
- Better Quizlet integration. Search for usernames, and returning public decks, recently studied, etc
Anyways, sorry for the wall of text. When I get new features implemented for this app, I will post them here.
Development stops?
